Paige head football coach Charles Rathbone is going into his 10th season, and if he doesn’t win state this year, I think it’s got to be his last. He’s had some very good teams, but especially this past season completely sold this year with terrible play calling and time management all year. They had all the capability in the world to win a championship this last season, and they do again this year, especially with a linebacker duo like Anes and Hazzard. I would give him this year, but if he doesn’t win a championship, or at least even make it to the championship game, it’s got to be his last;, there’s no more excuses for him.

This is monumentally stupid. The past 3 years of Page football have been by far the most successful in school history.

This football job is a disaster.   BGA used to be a proud tradition that has been ruined by political correctness and DEI.

What has BGA done that would constitute it’s making decisions due to DEI? I would like to know specifics because this is the first I’ve heard of it.

How many high school games had TD coached before he was named the head coach at Lipscomb?

None. Does Hasselback have the same connections with elite 11 that Dilfer did? May have been a factor in getting kids to LA.

Oh I read them and they make sense. They didnt propose they passed maybe you should read. I didnt pick the article basing it off success of the district that’s irrelevant. With this its a group of ideas or principle not a subject like algebra so harder to see if its in books or teacher’s curriculum just many times it was just parents saying it was being taught by a teacher not in official curriculum so of course that makes sense to send a link to an example of that guess they were all lying and you are right. You’ve taken this way into left field from my original comments anyway

Ok. Well the one time transfer was tabled. And the voucher bill is socialism for private schools. Hope that gets back to the point of your original comment.

Editing and Added 90% of reply 10 mins after I respond lol but nah got no problem with that at least had a say in it instead of some govt cuck forcing it

Neither one of those articles prove that critical race theory has been taught in Tennessee. One is an article about a parent with a child in private school who claims Williamson County (one of the most successful counties in the country) schools teach CRT, and the other is just a lawmaker proposing a bill against teaching it. You should probably read the articles you post first.

Well TN does good on wierdo curriculum id say but for how long idk they had many trying to teach critical race theory and some gender fluid reading but TN I think shut it down.

No county in Tennessee has taught “critical race theory “.  But if public funds can go to any private school with no oversight who knows what your tax dollars will fund? If religious schools are ok are you comfortable with your tax dollars going to a Muslim school?

Its less like socialism lol taking ppls money (tax payers) who dont want to pay into a system anymore is more socialism. ppl would like to get money back and choose for thier kids. Or poor ppl would like to go to a school not ran by Govt crazies more worried about gender studies

Tax payers still have to “pay in” and that money goes to subsidize a kids private school education. It’s 100 % socialism.

What county in Tennessee is promoting “gender studies?”

Doesn't qualify for the data I was talking about the data on the satisfaction of the current program etc is out there. Not whether some ppl used to not educate or “scam”.  I can show you a million examples of scams in government lmao look around you could argue the whole darn thing is a scam lol hence why parents with normal kids want more choices and tired of public schools that more worried about gender assigment training than actual learning and developing.

Parents with “normal kids” are free to send their kids to whichever private school they wish already.

Look at satisfaction rate and data for current voucher program. Compare scores, attendance, post secondary education levels etc of private vs public. Compare private vs public with no williamson county or magnet schools included is quite telling. Plenty of actual data out there if you look. I dont want to change the whole thread I was just making a point on someones comment on Gov Lee hating pub schools which I thought was not accurate.

Why would you remove schools that don’t fit your narrative if you want an accurate picture of public schools?

Feels to me like overall, pound for pound, it's the Knoxville area...no real hard data to back that up, just thinking about the success of Maryville, Alcoa, Fulton, etc over a long period of time...

One area that is a head scratcher to me is Williamson County.  No one is benefitting more from the growth in Middle TN than Williamson County.  They have highly competitive youth sports leagues, including most of all football.  Tons of money, tons of former and current NFL players living there, tons of support...but lack the hardware that you would think they would have.

Rutherford County isn't what it used to be.  Maybe there is cause and effect, that different RuCo teams that lost for so many years to Maryville in the playoffs.  Now there is one dominant team that is beating Maryville consistently, but the overall level of competition is down from what it was when Smyrna, LaVergne, Blackman, Riverdale and Oakland were all competing against each other....

D2-AAA in the Nashville area is going to be the best assemblage of teams in the state over the next several years....BA, MBA, Ensworth, LA, and FRHS.

In the last 10 years Independence, Ravenwood, and Summit have all won a state championship. Ravenwood, Brentwood &Summit have also been runners up. Page has 2 silver balls in the last 2 years, Nolensville has been to 2 semifinals recently. I think overall Williamson County is doing ok.

I think when looking at their current situations, vs. going into that region and competing against Creasy. I think you could make the argument that a couple of those guys have an easier pathway to a state championship at their current schools. However, they may want the challenge and pressure that comes with being at a place like Blackman. Which is respectable.

Well Green Hill moved up to 6A and will match up with the Murfreesboro region in the playoffs. Cane Ridge goes West in the playoffs and has a good chance to make the finals from the west if they can make it through the Williamson County teams. And centennial dropped to 5A so they could definitely make some noise with a good team.

Throwing shade on a group of people that don't know what they are doing is not necessarily a bad look.  Scott "Big Daddy" Wells has forgot more about football than the administration will ever know.

This is a head coach who quit on his team and made this statement while his kids were still in wrestling season. This “shade” is a terrible look for him or any other coach no matter how much football he forgot.

Father Ryan is not a good team and has not been a good team for many years

They are not very good in their league. But last year they beat Baylor and MUS and were in it with McCallie. And even this year they beat a pretty good Brentwood team and Cane Ridge who has beaten CPA and Pearl. So you’re not really comparing apples to apples.

  15. East is unbeaten and has beaten Father Ryan, Stewarts Creek and Independence. Cane Ridge beat CPA. Pearl seems to have it rolling and has beaten MBA 2 out of the last 3 times they have played. Overton is a ton better since Broome got there. McGavock is much improved. Metro has some good teams and some not so good teams. It’s ok to give credit to the schools and coaches winning and not paint with such a wide brush.

It got ravenwood a state title if I’m not mistaken and it definitely got talent to come there. Again what’s he doing that’s so wrong? Branding your school is bad? What are you a drill sergeant?

Ravenwood hasn't won a state title since 2015 with Coach Hester. They did go back in 2019 but got run out of the stadium by maryville

Hale Stadium only has an attendance capacity of 10,000 so it must have been standing room only.  I have not heard of a single high school football game in Tennessee that has had 10,000 fans in the past ten years and that includes the state championship games.  Congratulations on a great crowd in 2019.

According to the TSU website the capacity is 15,000

indy wasn't the only one.  from what i heard oakland, pulaski academy (arkansas) and greater atlanta christian all didn't want to play LA again.

I thought the Oakland game was a game that wasn’t originally scheduled, but came together because of covid cancellations. The other ones are out of state so they may be on another scheduling cycle.
