"If" & "could've"  The truth is if McMinn hadn't tried to bend the Covid rules (according to the TSSAA) we "could've" found out who "could've" won that game. It's all on McMinn. Not DB's fault. DB lost by a touchdown to Maryville the following week without a secondary. McMinn is no Maryville. Not even close. I think DB wins that game last year. But we'll never know because they screwed up at McMinn.

Oh well, no point debating it anymore I guess. I think it would’ve been cool if DB and McMinn could’ve added each other to the schedule the next couple of years.

I would of said go ahead and play the game if it was left up to me. But all in it wasn't the fault of the Sullivan County health department. They followed the rules by the letter. If you remember the TSSAA got involved and it lasted several days before the decision was made. The other parties involved couldn't get their paperwork together because they knew they tried to cover it up. It was their own fault, not DB's fault and not the Sullivan County health dept's fault.  Also, if you lived up here you would know there is no love lost between Sullivan Co. and the City of Kingsport. And especially anything to do with DB. If anything County related could stick it to DB or the City of Kingsport they will jump at the chance. I don't see any reason to believe DB wouldn't of won that game anyway.

If Hunt were to have lined up at WR he would’ve torched DB’s secondary if they were as bad as what you said. McMinn could’ve won the game

They caused that many turnovers and they still gave up 42 points??

Yep. They weren’t able to capitalize on most of them.  I might be wrong but I think they only scored after one of those turnovers.  I agree with the WV play calling.  I’d not watched WV before last night and was shocked at the lack of running plays that were called.  WV has a really good team but until they’re handicapping themselves with not running the ball.

Game #4 on the road for the Bears and the 3rd rivalry game in a row. Yeah, the pecking order may now have McMinn county #3 in our minds but I think we are still #1 in the minds of the McMinn faithful. Also with this game, this series becomes the longest continuously played series in Tennessee since South Pittsburg and Marion County ended their series this year.

Jalen Hunt is gone, but I doubt the cupboard is bare for the Cherokees. A good Quarterback and a capable running back will keep this game interesting. Bradley brings a powerful ground attack and a some capable receivers, and a defense that really had played well.

This game may not have Region implications any longer but does that matter when it comes to winning in this series?

    Thoughts?

This'll be another tough one for McMinn.  I do feel like it could go similar to the Cleveland and Rhea County games where they can stay in the game for at least 3 quarters.  The inexperience this year is coming up huge when playing against more experienced teams like Bradley and the previously mentioned teams.

It may not have been close if Tetoe didn't go down, but that's really a moot point for a seasoned 6A team that was supposed to be so good. All teams have injuries, with some starters out. McMinn had some freshmen and sophomores starting. Cleveland's conditioning was terrible!!!!!

McMinn had several starters on the sidelines this week.  Our D-line was playing both ways in the Central and Cleveland games.  It'll get a little better this coming week as we have a starting o-lineman that got cleared to play.  Hoping that will bring some relief to the kids on the d-line.

Cleveland is very balanced on offense. I believe had 202 yds rushing and 198 yards passing against redbank. Wrs are very talented and Tetoe is very tough at RB

Please excuse me for this - I can't remember the kids name, but is the WR with the mullet still there?  Really good basketball player in addition to football.

Red Bank has been very athletic over the past couple of years, so to shut them out the first half is pretty impressive. McMinn QB is a solid player, but if secondary for Cleveland is solid and LB can eye the QB, I feel Cleveland can come out on top.

I agree.  McMinn will have to have some success in the passing game.
