I know this one is recent, just wanting to start the thread and see if there are any front runners for the spot?
-
Any news coming out of Bolivar on who will replace Williams as Head Coach?
-
Any news coming out of McNairy on who the coach will be?
-
Any news coming out of Liberty?
I've heard they have a final 4 (only like 10 applied) so seems like they are working slow here.

I tried to tell people last week that Westview Chargers were getting a real good coach and they would be mercy ruling a lot of teams very soon. They did not believe me. Now do you believe me? Westview Chargers with Coach Simpson's son will be mercy ruling everyone they play in time. It will happen. I guarantee it. Watch and see. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
If Westview stays in 3A it wont happen, it will be exactly like it was this past year, they will struggle with the top teams (Covington and Dyersburg maybe even Ripley) and beat up on the bottom teams (McNairy, Bolivar, Liberty, Scotts Hill). Then come playoff time IF they are able to push past Covington or Dyersburg a second time, they will have a team like East Nashville waiting for them, then Alcoa. Westview with Ty Simpson (Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year) in 3A finished 6th, 4th, and 4th in their region. When they dropped to 2A is when they went 14-1 and won the Gold Ball.
Not saying Westview will not be good, but I just don't see them doing much in 3A, the only chance they will have will be dropping to 2A again and getting a favorable Region as they did in 2021.

Where did Hardin County coach go and why did he leave?
He is staying with the school as the AD, just stepping away from coaching.

McNairy Central

Bolivar, Westview, Liberty, Hardin County, any others open currently in West Tennessee?

I have heard some interesting names thrown around for this one.. Apparently a lot of interest in coaching the young Simpson. I still do not get the reason Neal is out, I would be scared as a coach to go somewhere that you will get forced out after going 37-14 or something close to that.

I know they got it worked down to a final three with second rounds of interviews yesterday. From what a friend of mine close to the situation said they loved one guy and plan to make an offer to him soon. He couldn't give me a name but he said its a younger coach that is currently a head coach. Hopefully this one can win a game hahaha
That just makes me want to know who it is more so! Who is your friend maybe we can make him tell

It really is a sad situation at Liberty.
I just do not know who they could get to take that job, maybe a middle school coach who is looking to try to get HC experience, but I do not think they have enough to offer to hire a better coach. They need someone who has a history of rebuilding a program and is ready for a 4-5 year commitment to rebuilding it. JMCSS is going to have to spend money and get a truly competent staff in there as well. At one point I heard that Liberty doesn't have a weight room program, they would go to the weight room and workout whatever they wanted to or not at all.

You can take Goodpasture off the list, just hired Tyler Turner
Yeah I had seen it earlier just waited until I saw it officially!

At one point this would have been a big time job in West TN. Now though I think JMCSS would be lucky to have 10-12 apply and really would be lucky if any of those were quality applicants. Liberty will never be what it once was, and a lot of that is on the school system.

Yeah I googled Tyler Turner and an article popped that he told his team in Arkansas that he was out to go back to Tennessee. Has Goodpasture made it official?

Nothing new coming out of Humboldt yet, just resume collecting, assuming they did not get many and that's why they are still collecting them.
Bolivar Football
in Class 3A & Class 4A
Posted
From what I remember when we played them this season, they had a large senior class. The QB was as good as advertised but in the JV game against SS the backup threw 3 or 4 interceptions. In JV this past season we beat them 28-8 with what I would imagine would be a lot of their starters for this next season. I think Bolivar is going to be in for a very tough year, they have some talent in the younger classes for sure, but will they be able to put it together, keep it together is the problem.
