I might catch some heat for this but I think Summit comes out the bottom. They match up well with both Wilson and Bradley.

I stand corrected. I guess the just keep the regions separated

I know top will have Cleveland, Clarksville, Nolensville…bottom will have Wilson, Bradley, Summit…because of seeding and opposite of region foes. Maryville and DB i believe will be random
They will separate sectional winners. I think Maryville won so that will put them at the top

Or would Nolensville get #1 Cleveland and BC get #2 WC since those 2 are only ones that didn’t win their Region? And Summit as #3 would get one of the others?
You are correct. Top will be Cleveland, Maryville, Nolansville and Clarksville. Bottom will be DB, Wilson, Summit and Bradley. Bradley got WC last year first round I don’t see that happening again. That’s why I said summit.

Wasn’t summit in Cleveland’s side of the bracket last year?
Yes. But because Summit won sectionals and are returning medalist they will be the 3 seed. Cleveland 1 and WC 2

The bottom bracket will have Wilson, Bradley and Summit. I’m going to go out on a limb and say Bradley and Summit will wrestle first match.

There are a hand full of schools that don’t enter and it’s the same ones all the time. I’ll let you guys figure out who they are…..

Did Belcher not wrestle or did he drop to 138?

Arlo Laxton (Cleveland) finished 4th in the Johnny Drennan 85 Memorial and Landon Desselle (Summitt) won the tournament. Not that it will really matters in the end but how is Laxton ranked 1st in the state and Desselle ranked 2nd?
Looks right. I think Desselle may be over rated a little.

Rumor is Legacy and Union already backed out

After watching some video on the Irish I will say that they are a long way from reaching their potential. Coach Pat Simpson had best pull a rabbit out of his Irish Derby Hat if this team is going to compete against the very best teams in Tennessee.
They are super young, 6 freshman from 106-145. They are competing and winning most matches. They will only get better.

It’s going to be a fun one to watch

Still not sure why they didn’t update all scores for this event.

I know Sells over Randell 3-0
Lipsey over Sells 4-1
Fowler over Bradford 6-4
Laxton over Myers 4-2
Lipsey over Eason

Hunter Sturgill will be a force.

If I’m not mistaken I don’t think that rule stood this year because of Covid. Some states didn’t have a state tournament or they were having them later. Plus there was. 3lb allowance as well.

I've seen them just as much as you have, still not buying they're definitely better.
I’ve been around all 3 of those kids for years and watched them progress. I really don’t think you can rank them 1,2 or 3. Best bet is 1a,1B and 1c

Are you sure they are the favorites? Ha! Totally kidding. I think they are the clear favorites by a landslide. Summit and Bradley are also in the running to make deep runs, based on what they have coming back. Science Hill might be a one to watch for as they bring back almost all of their team. DB lost a lot of their production which will be tough to make up. It looks like everyone else has an opportunity to be in the mix for the 4th spot.
I agree Bradley, Summit and Science Hill are young and can do some damage. Not sure about the other 2 but I know Summit has 7 of the 9 qualifiers back next season. I think Bradley brings back most of their qualifiers as well.

I went back and forth. I gave it to Desselle as it’s tougher to come in as a freshman and medal in those middle weights than 106. Not taking anything away from Fowler. It was a hard pick.
I’m excited to see Desselle wrestle for the next couple years. Talking to people close to him he had higher expectations but his nerves got the best of him.

Imagine calling Pete Miller, son of Al Miller, an unethical coach.
But I guess if you know for a fact Pete was telling him not to get up and to lay there and let injury time run out please share the video or at least how your magical ears could hear him say that from a distance.
Here’s what’s better. It was a 1 point match. Not like justice was getting hammered. No coach said that it came from the fans. Annnnnd the kid got in Pete’s face in the hallway threatening to beat the #### out of him.

This might shock you, but Miller only won by ONE vote against RAVENWOOD for head coach of the year. 3rd in state, or Ravenwood.
Finished 3rd at state. Finished with 277 points, beat Brentwood by 100 points, 7 champs, 9 qualified. Ehhh maybe someone else deserves it. Not much to see here.
yes I’m being sarcastic

But again, he wrestled two matches all year going into the state tournament. I get that it’s a popularity contest but there’s a lot of other kids in that region who have broken out this year. Alton Ables, Landon Desselle, Mitchell Lambert, Ryan Smith just to name a few based off records alone.
I agree. Ables undefeated, Desselle only 2 losses to top kids(they aren’t giving to a freshman), Lambert I think undefeated as well, Smith 1 loss on a questions call for illegal move.
State Duals predictions?

I absolutely agree, Summit can’t give up bonus points. But the last time they wrestled Summit was without a 106, Leach and Justice. It will be a very good match.
