Since yall coming from the West, if you get a chance to go through Lynchburg before 530pm, Barrelhouse BBQ has this ridiculous BBQ sandwich called the Grilled Cheese on Crack - if ya want more spicy, the Grilled Cheese on Crack-Jack - give it some of their sweet but mild habanero sauce and you'll lose your mind! 

Just keep in mind they close at 6pm. Get there early enough and you can pick up some Jack Daniels swag at the Lynchburg Hardware Store.

Hotels we have a Holiday Inn in town and a couple more that will do. Manchester is another option if you want to be close to I-24.

Other food options are Whisky Trail BBQ close to the stadium. Best burgers in town at London's Bar and Grill, sandwiches at Daddy Billy's both "Downtown Tullahoma," Got a nice NY style pizza joint downtown at Spinelli's next door to Daddy Billy's. Mexican joints are all good, El Costal and LA Fiesta are favorites, Casa always a solid choice. Good Japanese at Yamato's close to the stadium, then the usual chain restaurants with Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesdays, and all the fast food.

Congrats Firebirds on the win! Got to hear the final minutes on Murphy Fair on the way home. Looking forward to Round 3!

Congrats to Hardin Co too - y'all hung in there til the end, gave 'em a tough game to top off a great season for your boys. Kids can hold their heads high.

Go with the catfish - Savannah has been billed as the TN Catfish Capitol - never found a bad fish plate the whole year I spent there.

If you're short on time, the fried chicken at the little Casey's gas station on the east end of town was always good. The Mexican restaurants weren't bad, and there was a great steak house too - it'd be my second choice if the fish place was packed, but expect it to be loaded up too on Friday night if it's still around.

Here's the word on Barion Brown from the Tennessean, published Tuesday night with comments from Coach Brunetti. I feel for him, missing such a big game having to watch his team play. Yall PC guys keep his spirits up - its a really tough punishment for a kid trying to figure life out. He's got a lot going for him, but it means the world just to consistently check in and make sure he's OK.

Best of luck to both the Tigers and Firebirds tonight - hope yall have a legendary game!

Got a feeling we're in for a good game tonight - last meeting was "chippy," to quote Coach Olive. Central is gonna be hungry - expect them boys to leave it all on the field.

Anybody know why Clarksville Now says Montgomery Central won't be at full strength? Who are they missing? Injuries?

So how about that weather at game time? 49 degrees dropping to about 45 by game's end, 60-80% humidity and partly cloudy - low humidity day with a high of about 60 oughtta dry up the field pretty well, right...

Gotta say, the Greenbriar kids played a good game. They had a lot of good defensive stops and made some big plays on offense.

@hollowman I'll have to agree with Coach - I think this year we have more combined talent than last with the depth to pull us through the little injuries that have slowed us down in seasons past.

Having been around a few programs with potential, these boys are all-in and they've got that one impossible to coach trait of being hungry - a lot of teams lose it as the year winds down, come to a sputter in the post season content to rest on their laurels. I see them gelling more and more as the season has progressed, becoming the cohesive unit they'll have to be to battle the best of the best. They've got the gas to make a real run of it and the guts to stand toe to toe with anyone on the field.

The fan base will get to see it first hand - and that spark lit up Wilkins Stadium just a couple weeks ago when one of the loudest crowds in recent memory cheered their boys on for a stellar defensive stand against Montgomery Central.  Week by week, game by game these boys will prove themselves.

@VFLWildcat seems to have a lower threshold for a "bad year" than most fans, and good for him - keep a positive attitude for the team you support. I'd hope you don't abandon your boys in hard times, then jump on the bandwagon for an up year.

I can tell you the 6-2 2018 third round loss was to a talented and determined Maplewood team - a well fought battle on the muddiest field I've seen in a long time against two evenly matched teams.

The 15-14 2020 3rd round loss to Nolensville was a night frought with miscues, mistakes, and a generally unprepared Tullahoma for both the players and coaches. The "problems" to whom you refer had matured by that point in the season to be "players."  Don't forget you're referring to kids here - kids that are learning to behave as men on the football field surrounded by the fishbowl of fans. I'm very proud of all our "problems" and the coaches who have encouraged them to behave as men through every down, every practice, every minute in the weight room.

And if you think "choking" is a Tullahoma tendency, I'll promise you the kids and coaching staff carried a lot of lessons away from that Nolensville loss which will not be repeated. That cut is still fresh and a lot of seniors on this team are eager to prove themselves worthy of being the deepest Tullahoma team to battle in the state playoffs. They'll stand toe to toe with anyone and give them a game.

Don't expect the past to dictate the future, especially for these boys.

My threshold is a 0.500 year for a good team. In an extraordinary region 5-5 may be OK, but certainly considered a rebuilding year. A bad year is bottom of the barrel, 3-7 or worse.

I'm sure we all can agree most schools go through cycles of talent just with the students - add in cycles of the coaching staff and you get a stomach-turning run of bad years. That's where I lay much of the blame for the Coffee, Franklin, and Lincoln Co. programs you mentioned. Tullahoma has been fortunate in finding a solid coach for the past 29 years in Coach John Olive. 

With a win percentage of 60.9% out of 322 games played under his leadership at Tullahoma (196-126), the program has had a lot more good teams than bad.

I've got nothing but respect for Pearl Cohn after their Tullahoma game - the kids played well on both sides of the ball. I'm sure I don't have to remind any Tullahoma fans we get our fair share of Unsportsmanlike laundry on the field - it's a snake lying in the grass for a Championship run for the Wildcats.

Everybody needs to keep their focus on the coming weeks if we want to see a Week 3 rematch happen.  Hoping all these kids play with respect, focus, and determination for the next four weeks and Week 3 of the playoffs finds us with two strong, healthy teams ready to show the State why Region 5 is the toughest there is!

Tullahoma has had one digital ticket game so far with one more on the books.

Remember that if your team's tickets sell out, search the game through your opponent and they may have tickets available.  Happened to us against Coffee County.
