Also why are they playing at Cleveland back to back years?
-
This is a pretty tough schedule. How do u think the Cherokees will look next year?
-
Well I’ll eat my crow pie. Congrats to OR on a hard fought game

12-0 McMinn. Failed two point conversion

I love to see defense win games

McMinn County might be the worst offensive team I've seen in a long time. They had a four yard drive for a TD and unless we give them the ball inside our five yard line, they can't score. We will win as soon as we score once
We will see y’all are an offensive juggernaut. 0 points. New tradition we end Oak Ridge football season every year
-
McMinn Defense and Special Teams 6 Oak Ridge 0 at halftime.
sidenote these refs are throwing flags after every play on both teams. Not a good game for the refs
-
Much respect to Oak Ridge. Hope everyone has a safe and good time Friday night going down and back

WOW! Aren't Tennessee fans supposed to be in the fetal position like the fake # 1 team Georgia proved them to be?
Just teasing.
" Wildcats are gonna win that game baby. "
Hahahahaha low blow

This year we stop y’all on the 5 yard line instead of the 2

And I do agree truly good passing teams are very hard to practice for in high school football because there are not many that are truly that good at passing attack offense. CC will get some
-
I agree McMinn D is good. Two or three turnovers could make up the difference in this one. McMinn 45 CC 35

Go Eagles beat Bradley!! From a McMinn guy

Yea I’m pulling for all the teams in the region come playoff time but I don’t see it going so good for this region. High school football can run in cycles with up and down years. This isn’t exactly an up cycle for this region. DISCLAIMER some schools somehow never have down years lol ie Maryville and Alcoa
-
This region is down a bit this year for sure. Rhea hasn’t been their regular Rhea self. Ooltewah hasn’t got back to where they used to be in the early 2000’s. Howard just has a long ways to go really. McMinn isn’t as strong as maybe some previous years however they have shown great improvement from the beginning of the season. This team with Miller at RB and Hester at QB is now much more dynamic on offense. Thompson and Evans adding to RB makes it a much stronger position now. Question is will this region get blasted in the playoffs this year?

Several things…WV lost 26 seniors last year. Lots of youth playing (which will pay off). Lost their starting RB (acl) during fall camp.
Personally, I think McMinn is the jekl/Hyde team. WV has been in every game and could have won them… whereas McMinn has not.
Rocky Top maybe you can help me. I don’t think WV has ever beat McMinn in football. I may be wrong. I was trying to go back and research this. Do you know?

Who wins this one and why. I think if Jayden Miller is back for the cherokees they should roll in this game but I believe it may be a close one. Mcminn 35 East Hamilton 29
RR I think if it were me I would think of playing Miller at RB with Hester at QB. That would give u two very strong and big runners on the RPO. That is not taking anything away from Thompson. Mix him in and also Evans. Keep them all fresh. I just think u get what Miller does best at RB and we have been missing that bigger back that he is

Know when Miller will be back?
No I’m not sure. U know RichyRich I think everyone rallied behind the injury in the Rhea game but I guess that was a different situation altogether against Bradley lol
-
Yea I don’t know. These Cherokees are up and down like a yo yo this year. Offensively and defensively. I know they have been without their starting QB the last two games. Maybe this can be a game they can gain some consistency. The Bears took it to them last week
-
RCfan good luck the rest of the way. The Eagles will just get stronger and stronger as the year goes on. Who knows? Maybe these two meet again and Rhea repays McMinn

In all honesty Rhea County is a class act when it comes to all things football. To be quite honest I as a McMinn fan was shocked that not only we pulled out the win but especially in the way we did. And ESPECIALLY with J Miller getting hurt and going out early in the game. I didn’t think we had a plan B if that happened especially against a team like Rhea. My comment was wrong saying cocky. One said Rhea in a blowout. We have a good defense so we should be able to keep games close. Another brings up officiating when it seems like we lead the state in penalties. It’s all good tho. Love HS football it’s the last bastion of amatuer football really. Rhea fans and football program are quality all the way around. Always strong. I apologize for grouping a couple of comments I didn’t agree with to everyone.

Love Coach Casey. He coached a basketball academy in Athens and that’s how he came to McMinn County. He has had a very successful coaching career in Kentucky for many years. McMinn is grateful to have him and also as a part of the community. A side note I would like to say. I’ve watched many games this year and I’m hard pressed to remember a team that showed as much class as Cleveland High School showed this year on the court. That is a direct reflection on their upbringing but also from the Cleveland coaching staff
