Creasy has never been the type to run it up, at least not at Oakland. If Oakland wins by that big a margin, it's prolly because the backups score 2-3 td's. You guys will a front row seat to the best 1-2 running back tandem in the state

Oh for sure. I heard about that. I think if the starters play 1 half it’ll be 56-0 at halftime and your backups will definitely score. We cannot by any means stop Jordan James. He’ll have 200 first quarter yards.

There is risk of injury in any game.... They will line 11 players up no different than SP.  Yes I do understand how good they are and yes they will most likely win... by a lot but you act like they are 30 yr old NFL players playing with weapons or something.  Actually with the tension that was building with the Jasper game there was probably more risk of an injury there.   Sp will be fine. I love the direction coach Jones is going and he's just getting started. Can't wait to see what the future holds for SP football.

It would take another flood like the one in genesis to keep Oakland from winning this game. No matter which way you swing it, there’s no way on earth SP can even keep it within 50

    I understand it!SMH!

People who actually believe we can keep it within 70 are so cocky. I love this team, I grew up around the team. I live and breathe SP football. I know most of the players. And on the day of this game I’m going to watch them all get hurt physically and mentally to the highest level possible on a football field. They are going to get blasted off their home field in a way they have never experienced

They are a 1A school playing THE BEST TEAM IN THE STATE in any class.Scared/Dodging dont have one thing to do with this.Coalfield did this with Catholic a few years ago.It was a fiasco.Pitt is no Coalfield but OHS is on a different  level than those Catholic teams also.

People don’t understand at all. Oakland is returning 20 starters I believe from a team that won the state championship by 23 last season. We are screwed on the highest level.

I get the injuries aspect of it... I really do, but the man has excelled at the highest levels. I think he knows how to handle little ole South Pittsburg.

You sure don’t come into a room of kids and tell them that their not going to be scared of anyone and then dodge folks...

Well. We have 3 losses on the schedule most likely. And come oct 22 our entire team will want to quit football bc of how sore they are but sure, let’s not dodge anyone. We coulda scheduled Alcoa, or meigs again, or even a team like Elizabethton. Literally anyone in the state would be easier than Oakland

Maybe trying to teach his kids not to be scared of anybody... I like it!

Yes because losing 91-0 at home in front of a packed house teaches that. And this doesn’t help you prepare for Peabody at all, cause after this game, Peabody is still the best 1A team. All this does is cause unnecessary low morale and injuries.

We have lost our minds! There is a difference in playing tougher competition for the playoffs and playing teams out of your league.

Oakland will win every game they play by 35+ in 6A. We’ll be lucky to keep them under 100. Their C team would beat our starters by 30. You can’t compare it. I don’t know what Chris thinks he’s doing or what he’s trying to prove.

I was hoping to play Trousdale and Watertown, teams like that, that are really good, that we would have a good game against and win or lose against them we'd learn something. A team that you know you don't have any business on the field with is just plain down right stupid.

We don’t have a single player who could sit the bench at Oakland. I feel bad for our guys

    AMEN!!!

Reschedule meigs, schedule Peabody, even Alcoa. Don’t try to be all big and tough when everyone knows that we won’t score on them and we won’t stop them. Every single drive for them will be 1 play. I love SP but this isn’t the way to prove that we’re good. This is torture for the players

Those two guys did? Did we play a home school team last year? The highlights I saw of Greenback game didn’t look like anyone got burnt. It looked like we didn’t tackle them on that short stuff. Maybe I’m wrong though.

Yes they did. 5 played corner and safety and 7 played safety. 12 was the other main DB. They all got burnt. Gave up 350+ through the air against a true passing team and 4 touchdowns. Sounds like they got burnt to me. I’m a pirate fan through and through but last years team was way too hyped up to have that big of a gaping hole. We changed the DBs coach and this year they are better. They just were not ready to get thrown on in that game. Whitwell did the same thing in 2018. They got down and starting throwing and threw it all over us. Those same guys were starting at DB.

I wasn’t there that night. What simple passes did they beat us on? If SP had made it to Cookeville last year. It would have been a good ball game.

Just short passes to #20 Duke. He played slot and ran 6 yard routes, and then ran for 15 after the catch. And then in double and triple coverage #23 Holden killed us. Our secondary SUCKED last year. Literally sucked so bad

I think we all know Coalfield wasn't the best running team in the state, even before that game. That's just all they could do (vs bad defenses) lol

Well a lot of people said they were “one of the best” because of that formation. In 1A at least I think we are the best. That’s not biased I just can’t find a team who’s better at it. If there is, please show me.

As a whole, I believe you had more playmakers. But like you said, our big playmakers outperformed that game. If SP was able to pass the ball to keep us from playing the run every play, it could've been different. The times you did pass the ball, the receivers were wide open. It hurt that you didn't have Sanders that game as well. Thinking back to that last play hail mary..... every heart dropped on our side thinking he caught that ball. There were so many turns in that game. Y'all were up most of the game until the 3rd-4th quarter and it went back and forth from then on. Crazy atmosphere!

Also, on that final play, when Hunter dropped it. I think that’s what he’s doing this year. He’s on a mission to forget all about that dropped pass. He’s doing a good job of it so far.

A lot of people said not having sanders worked because y’all had no film for Jaylyn at QB that season and a lot of the plays we ran were never really ran in the regular season or playoffs because Brayden isn’t a running QB. I honestly think you would have killed us if Brayden had played. Not because of him, but because of play calls.

Something to be said for implementing new pieces and not having timing, especially doing that in the playoffs. Team has big play potential every snap, count them out if you want, SP can continue their trend of being the favorite all year then blowing it.

Serious question here. Have you watched SP play? More specifically, did you watch our game last week. It’s on YouTube. We held one of the “best” running teams in the state to like 45 total yards. -11 in the second half. To say any team in 1 or 2A would score 33 on us is insane. FC only hope is to hold us to a low score and that’s very hard to do. Meigs did it best, but like I said, we didn’t play for 3 weeks prior to that game and meigs is a great team.
