I’m going to be excited next year when people realize Bradley wasn’t just a one year wonder

Karma says your over played your hand.  It’s easy to do when you are not use to success.  You lacked any humbleness and all lack of respect for your competition and got run ruled to the house before the finals.  Your name alone shows you jumped on as a one trick pony.  Alcoa, Oakland, Maryville, Page, Henry County have all made decent and consistent runs toward a championship over the last 4 years - you’ve made it past the second round once in that timeframe.

The good news for you, you get to spend the next decade telling the world about that one time you had a shot to be a Champion.  Sit down now and watch programs you wish to be play this weekend.

Maybe you’re right and I’m not arguing for a minute that Oakland is an absolute stud. but Bradley’s offense isn’t the most dangerous part.. the most effective (I should say) part is just how hard the defense is to penetrate. We held maryville at the goal line for 12 consecutive plays. There were lots of penalties of course during that drive which kept going to 1st and goal or 5 yards back but nonetheless maryville couldn’t move the ball home  for 12 plays… that says something tremendous. Ok bearden couldn’t do anything.. at all… I felt kinda bad for them. they were losing yards more than they were gaining because Bradley’s D line is just so darn stout and their backs are so fast they just rush in. Not to mention if you pass the ball you’ll have multiple interceptions because of boo in the back. He got a couple lastnight. Bradley beat beardon the way they did because bearden has been on their mind all season and they were very ready and very prepared to play a dangerous team. Bearden had no answers for a fully motivated Bradley. Oakland is no joke. Oakland is a powerhouse dynasty juggernaut program there’s no question to it. They’ve proved it over and over. But Bradley does have every tool needed to stop them defensively and push through them offensively. Running up the middle just simply won’t work Bradley has monsters on the line look like 30 year old 250-300lb men lol . Again I’m more concerned about them sleeping on an earlier team and not making it to Oakland because all they’re only focus IS Oakland. If they meet Oakland… it’ll be one of the craziest games of the decade mark my words whoever wins. But at the ends of the day.. no excuses… the best team wins in the end so good luck to everybody and we’ll go from here. God bless all the players and parents. What a wonderful sport.

Has BC ever made it past the second round since any of these players have been alive?  Serious question.

You do realize you beat Farragut and Maryville by one score,  not sure I would call that grounds for Oakland/BC to be called the game of anything much less the game of a decade.  I get it, you have a really good team and that’s new and exciting.  But try getting out of the second round before you declare for the IFL hall of fame.  I would say act like you’ve been there,  but I guess that’s not fair - because you haven’t.

First of all, I want West to win, represent our region, as well as East TN...and while I don't know their coach, he seems like a good guy. Now...I must say i was underwhelmed by what I saw of West vs Powell. Powell outplayed West all night long except for two plays...the 99 yard pick six and the punt return. West may have peaked a bit early, as we all know they beat Alcoa and Maryville. The West QB is no threat at all and while he might be a very good game manager, the defense won't have to really account for him. I know nothing about Page, but if they're a real good team, I expect them to win, unless West plays a lot better than they did against Powell.

I am going to give you the MVP award for “Posts that didn’t age well”.

Because that no threat game manager took home the championship game MVP hardware for the peaked early underwhelming mercy clock running 15-0 5A West High Running Rebels.

I’m not going to say Lowe will ever leave (again), but he’s Powell born and raised. Gave Powell some the best years as a player and gave the only gold ball in school history. His personality today was the same as a player, you wanted him on your team. His personality/style isn’t for everyone but he only coaches for that small section of Emory Road. He’ll recruit just like the rest of Knoxville, not sure he’ll get a collection of talent together like the last few years but he’ll try.

I will give CML all credit due him - I have never seen a coach flop for a call like he did on their first drive - it's pretty bad when you gets called out on it.  Seems he coaches to beg the officials on every play as well - hope that works out for him in the future.

West took one on the chin last year to a little 3A school on their own field. Will West keep Alcoa on the schedule after graduating 18 starters after this year? Probably not. :thumb:

If last year's game was taking it on the chin - then what you call this year's game?  I just assumed it was two good programs battling it out it two very good games.  I guess I was wrong.

I've been watching the same team that you've been watching. I understand that we are not blessed with great linemen, and I also realize that we've had injuries, and I'm sick of our fans (some of them) making excuses of our injuries. Are we the only team who has had many injuries? NO! It is not very becoming of OR football fans to be known as the "whining capital of the region"!!! Do you think anyone feels sorry for us...other than some of our own fans...he#$ NO!!!  It's time to shut up about injuries, shut up about officiating, and PLAY BALL !!!!!!!  And I do actually believe that if our players don't "buy in" to the excuses they here from so many directions, that OR will have a very good chance to win tonight! OR will have the best running back on the field tonight, OR will have the two best receivers on the field tonight, OR will have the best linebacker on the field tonight, OR will have the best defensive secondary on the field tonight, OR will have a great player in Jai Hundley on the field tonight, OR will have the superior punter and placekicker on the field tonight, and OR will have home field advantage tonight. Given all of that, I feel like my prediction has some merit...and I rest my case!!!!

I may be a clown - but I can read the post above.  Sounds like superior talent to me.

    Classless remark.

I could tell in the first minute that OR came out flat and weren't playing  like normal.  # 22 nearly had a TD to make it 21 -14.  He can usually be counted on for that catch, but not tonight.  They had a bad game.  It happens. I guarantee if my team had won I wouldn't be on here running down the other team.

So if the refs called the fumble before the half you lost at the 1 - it’s 21-0.  The refs didn’t call back that Summit score on a Mickey Mouse procedure flag it 28-0 in route to a 42-0 final.  So is that your point?  It could have been so much worse if a few keys calls hadn’t gone your way?  I think we both can agree on that.

Have to take Oak Ridge for the win.  Assuming of course, that they retain possession when then they shouldn't because the refs botch a call.  I've come to expect it at this point.

Funny that happened in this game and so far it’s been OR’s only score - but I don’t think it’s going to matter.  Did that happen often or against your team Gut?  Are you a South Doyle guy?
