  1. Can you really call it a "huge" game? I mean, these teams are battling for the last place (4th) spot for playoffs. Talent should give FC the win. Should. But it's at LC. Honestly, flip a coin to predict this one. Both teams are irrelevant in the big picture this season. A playoff spot for either would result in a first round loss.

  2. Coach McCurry may have had some personal demons, but there's no denying his ability to coach, organize, and prep for games. His 4-6 season at FC was his first losing season, I believe. Not 100% sure on that. The "good ol' boy" AD is the one that pushed for Mac's exit. Is Mac a hard ####?  Absolutely. Does he take control of his coaches and players and hold them accountable? Absolutely. Does the current HC do that? Absolutely not. That lack of leadership shows every Friday night. Too bad they weren't able to give the opportunity to T. Holman. Those kids love him and they play hard for him. Time will tell if they stick with Cunningham. As it stands now, he's hasn't shown that he can coach in 5A.

  3. Parent politics isn't the issue at FC. They have the good ol' boy system that's been in place for a while with the former AD. They have a new AD now that doesn't have family ties and isn't best friends with the current coach's grandfather. It's well know that Cunningham was hired based on his relatives. He had ZERO head coaching experience. He is NOT a 5A caliber coach. As with previous comments, there is a major lack of organization and leadership. Same mistakes every week and no indication of it changing. Probably a 3-7 season with one of those being a Covid W.

  4. And no, FC will not be able to take the next step with this staff. HC is a nice guy, but he was not ready to be a HC in 5A. There's other coaches on that staff that are capable and have proven records at the middle level. Hayworth will be an asset and I would hope would be under consideration for HC if this season is another 2-8. I understand some people wanting to wait for Cunningham to grow, but this isn't on-the-job training. Many of these talented players will not develop as they should with an inexperienced 5A coach.
