After seeing him play with his size last years qb would be a great 3rd down guy. At a guess he weighs 260 or so? Decent speed for that size. He reminded me of Trousdales qb of last season.

    Don’t think he’s quite that big. Probably 220-230 but he’s a bruiser.

Sounds like he'd be a good offensive guard :roflol:

I’d say he’ll be in the RB rotation but doubt he’ll be “the one”. We’ve got several really good backs now. I’d say he’ll be at MLB and a short yardage back but if the offensive scheme is a heavy RPO style he could easily be the QB. Honestly the new staff hasn’t shown their hand on what they plan to do yet. Probably because they either aren’t changing much (my personal belief) or they haven’t had time to implement any real change yet. Until I see what they plan to do it’s really hard to say how anyone will actually be used. I know I’d love to see the sophomore at QB, the bruiser at FB / hybrid TE type, the stud at RB and the kid that didn’t play until playoffs at slot/wing but I’m sure that lineup isn’t likely. Besides I’m no coach so there’s probably reasons that wouldn’t work.

RPO lol that made me laugh.

That only means our region teams have better competition will than yours. Reality of it is we will be seasoned come playoffs whatever seed we manage to get. If one thing TC should have learned about Meigs by now is we show up to play when we get there. Win or lose.

Just to be clear, I am neither a Meigs or TC fan.  I am a football fan.  Im a valley guy but have no kids or grandkids on any teams now.  I guess you can say Im a floater.  I watch whatever game catches my attention weekly.  I have wathced Meigs a lot in recent years.  I do not think they will be as good this year.  And no doubt, region 3 is very very tough.  you better just hope that whoever is left standing, isnt too beat up going into the semis to play what i think will be a tough hampton team (i watched your game with them last year).  Trousdale was too beat up going into the champrionship game in 2018 due to similar situation.  Best of luck to both teams.  I hope I get to watch yall play again this year.

Is Sam Montgomery the new Head Coach now?

i talk to my buddy from dunlap this weekend.  he said that the fayetteville asst as still being strongly considered.  Montgomery would be a fall back option.  don't know how accurate that is.  He was pretty much over the whole thing and how its bein handled.

Should we just cancel 2021 season and focus on golf or something. This is terrible!  Can’t we just get a proven head coach and get busy?  What’s so hard about that? Get Tabor. Get Mac. It’s not that hard.

With how this coaching search has been handled, your not going to get a proven head coach.  You will be lucky to get any coach from outside of the program, this late int he game.  Hard to get a coach to come into a dumpster fire with no time to put the flames out.  Is gryder, mac, ross, and tabor the only coaches interested in it?

If there is any truth to this, having two final candidates as guys who have led teams to state championship games and one with a winning percentage around 85% would not really mean they are “hurting” for  interest.

My post wasn't about wins and loses.

  7. I wish the best for greenback.  I enjoyed watching you all play south pitt and win in the semifinals of 2019 season.  Ryan sure could reveal a defense.

Used to talk to a guy that coached youth ball there.  can't remember his name but was always a nice guy.  Seen that Tommy Clemmer (that used to coach Loudon youth ball) is on staff.  Always liked him too.

I wouldn't get to far ahead with your planning for that 2nd matchup, there is two pretty good teams from the other region you will have to go through. Should be hands down most stacked quad in 1A or 2A.

East Roberson and Harpeth?? jk  you are right.  some solid teams in that quadrant.  I plan to watch those matchups, assuming the season plays out how we expect it to.  I wanna watch south pitt some to and see what coach Jones is going to put on the field.

    I agree!

Any coach at Sequatchie County regardless of sport in my opinion will never have to go without something that some other program might have in regards to facilities or equipment to help his team compete and be successful.   Who ever they hire they need someone who can talk to the kids and recruit the halls as there has been a number of great athletes over the last several years not playing football and focusing instead on basketball, baseball, wrestling, soccer or running track.

I like the idea of hiring Grider  I think his name would help a lot in what I mentioned about getting some kids on the fence out.  I know he had took a job as an Assistant but maybe he isn't done with being a HC and was just burned out in SP and needed a fresh start.   While he wouldn't have the athletes he had at SP as folks saw what Coach Caine did in Dunlap in just a couple of years if a coach like Grider or anyone for that matter can get the kids to buy in and give 110% they can compete with most anyone at the 3A level.

I'm hoping an announcement comes Tuesday or at least this week.  Maybe a decision has been made and they gave someone the weekend to think it over.   It would give the new coach a couple of weeks to get to know his players and get a playbook gone over before the Dead Period.

I think it will come later this week.  i don't know how much they were able to do last week due to spring fling going on.  Good luck.

  10. Nothing new. . but I think Meigs and Marion battle it out in this region.  And the more important game between the 2 will be the 2nd time they play.  This will be an exciting matchup.  I think I will try to make this game, assuming the season goes the way we all think it will

    Tough OOR schedule.

Yes it could be.  I am reading that Trousdale will be down this year but Watertown, Cookeville, and Fayetville (Very good returning RB) could be tough outs.  I watched Caine coach when he was in Dunlap.  The guy will put together a good squad.  Bet Dunlap wishes he would come back

  12. I wish Coach Chandler the best.  I knew him when he was an assistant at Rhea.  He was young and eager then.  I think he can do well at Tyner if the community and administration will get behind him

Heard this as well. Bledsoe coach would be a good hire though. He can coach!

What is Bledsoe Coachs record other than the 2 years he has been at Bledsoe?

To me, Gryder is the obvious choice, if he is in fact interested.
