A win got her in the rankings.
When Cobb wrestles more competition in her weight classes then she will move up. In order to be the best you have to compete against the best. It’s been that way with Cobb for the last 2 seasons during the season. Don’t get me wrong she is a great wrestler but I have yet to see her wrestle any of the girls above her who are at 126.Iams was up 5-0 on Hamelryck before a medical forfeit. If you're counting scores before a win/pin then that should also impact 120 and change it again.

Yea I know who won but her win got her name in the rankings does not make her better.
Just like Grey got beat this weekend but was winning the matchup before getting pinned.
A few girls got pinned but the chances it happens consistently are slim. Also need to be wrestling more during the season and compete against the best frequently to show you are 1 of the best in the state.
Costello was winning 7-4 before getting caught so I gave her credit for getting the pin but I believe Costello is better based on her wrestling and matchupsIs a win no longer a win? Going to your back when you choose bottom is not getting caught. I would also check your 126. Cobb should be higher than 6th.

You can only count 1 scorer per team, per weight class. The scorer must be designated before the start of the tournament. You are correct Sampson.
Knox Halls
100- 4th - 1pt
114- 4th - 1pt
120- 2nd - 3 pt
132- 1st - 4 pt
235- 2nd - 3 pt
Maryville
132- 4th - 1 pt
145- 2nd - 3 pt
152- 3rd - 2 pt
165- 1st - 4 pt
235- 3rd - 2 pt
Without Knox Halls second 120 placer, both teams have 12 points. With their second placer it puts them above Maryville.... Sampson is not correct based on the results he posted

I'm not sure you can count both at 120 for Halls.
It is a tie if you only count one of the 120 placers. If you count both Knox Halls had 6 placers, with only one, they had 5. Points should balance out at 12. Therefore its a tie.

Only one wrestler scores per weight class is my guess.
Then Knox Halls and Maryville tied for third, based on these results

How was the team points decided? Based on these results, Knox Halls and Maryville should have at least tied for third. If you do team points based on placers, and only count the higher scorer for 120lb Knox Halls, they tie. If you include the other 120 placer they beat Maryville? How did they decide on this?

You don’t wrestle a match after a match as emotional as a region final dual between long-time rival schools. Sportsmanship extends to wrestling district when you’re supposed to and adapting- along with being ready, on weight, and being able to wrestle the same day and time just at a different school. AC is actually more convenient of a location for both Halls and Clinton. My own opinion though, of course

Halls and Gibbs will most likely both finish top 10, not quite top 5 this year in single A. Granted both programs would say they are down this year, when they are "up" they most certainly both would compete for a state title (Gibbs did win it just 3 or 4 years ago).
Also- is anyone going to acknowledge the fact that the winner of this Clinton vs Halls match has to go wrestle Greeneville??? You're arguing for the chance to drive 2 hours during the week to go wrestle one of the best teams in the state this year regardless of classification? Actually, considering this, I think I am now on your side youngbuck. What can I do to help make this Greeneville vs Clinton dual happen?
Greeneville is tough as nails… no doubt about it. As someone who is pretty knowledgeable about wrestling, I am more concerned with the defamation of a respected program and coach by claim that they are in the wrong. Not showing up or willing to wrestle district when supposed to is a forfeit in my opinion. Then going about it by essentially trash talking because the better team in the district isn’t wrestling after they already wrestled matches for region and Clinton left before a true second could be discussed in person is a bit much. Not arguing to get to wrestle Greeneville but to not have defamation based on emotion and inaccurate information.

Districts do not determine the region in our region obviously. Our district and region follow whatever Halls wants to do. Keep following sheep
Be ready to wrestle when you’re supposed to the first time and get your guys more disciplined. Plain and simple.

There is no official deadline for districts
District determines the region. Based on my encounters with Halls personnel I would guarantee the AD’s discussed. If you weren’t ready to show up and wrestle and let your guys slack in discipline to be ready with only 4-5 hours until a scheduled competition time then that’s on you. I’ve met Coach Sayne and I know he would have been ready to wrestle Thursday even if the meet was cancelled. You can show up to wrestle because of that then you were right to not get to wrestle for a “true second.” Prepare better. Instill some discipline and accountability to be ready day of no matter what.

Districts have until the 28th of this month to be completed. Some districts like to schedule early to try and gain an advantage by having more time off in between teams and individual tournaments. TSSAA posts the competition dates online
Regions have until the 28th to complete. District deadline has passed.

The real word is that the match was hosted by Fulton who canceled and then sayne calls AC to find a neutral site for district but by that time both the Fulton and Clinton coaches told their teams it was canceled. Where ever you get your word ask them if Fulton wrestled too? Fulton canceled on districts, it was their host for this year
If you’re supposed to wrestle and you’re trying to fight for a district title, you should treat the week and day as if you’re still wrestling and be ready. If one cancels then you find somewhere else to wrestle and don’t tell your team prematurely that they aren’t wrestling. The district has to be determined within a certain number week of season. Show up and stay ready to wrestle. Can’t do district after the allotted week for it. Sucks.
-
Word on the street is that Clinton was not “weight ready” for district. Has to be wrestled within a certain number assigned week per TSSAA. Also that Clinton left before they could argue they wanted a true second after region finals. Coach Sayne is well respected. Bold to say that he would “steal” a district title that most would argue they would have anyways.

She still pinned hamelryck for the second time. Nice of you to incorporate Alcoa tournament for this, after saying you wouldn’t be using it where it wasn’t on track. Make up your mind.
