The school has 128 State Championships in all sports since 1980 and I def agree there is many teams in the state that want to play them. That’s was good news to me until another beast is taking their place. Nobody will say Ole Davy Jones is scared to play anybody after this one is announced

is there any chance we would actually play them? a 5a Arkansas team? I find it really hard to believe but it would be big if true.

I think we all can agree that not playing the jasper game this year is gonna kind of take away from the excitement of the season but to say that sp is scared of jasper is pretty silly. Not trying to down talk jasper I personally hope they always do well but last year they didn't really impress much and looked flat at times during the season. unless they got some new talent I'm unaware of then what does sp have to be be scared of? On another note I'm curious to know what the real reason is that the game is not being played. I know tensions between the teams and fans are high but are they actually that bad to completely end a great rivalry like that

would the board of education even let wagg go to jasper? with those comments id say there's no chance now but would they have even let him go before he said anything? I feel like even if he hadn't said anything they still wouldn't have approved it just because of all the drama it would cause  

so with the messages coming out and everything what do you think is the hold up on them hiring  jones and letting him get to work? is there anyone else who was being considered along with jones and Wag that we don't know of?

I completely agree. no matter who gets the coaching job all of sp should embrace them and not make them feel like they are automatically on the hot seat just because that wasn't who the crowd favorite was

if sp can get jones as the next coach that's great but if they cant at least we always have Roy and his goat as a back up plan

so I said it in an earlier post but I've been reading everything on coach t for about a year and sportman talked me into making an account yesterday and I have to say reading the comments between bpm and Roy are the highlights of my day. I almost would hate to see that rivalry end lol but on another note what happened to tnvallyscoop and pp68? they just disappeared after all the trash talk. also I miss southtowner and his great pregame and post game stories. Has anyone heard from him?

Biggest issue with getting a quality coach to stay at any school in our county is the pay scale and the pressure to win.

A coach could go 15 mins up the road to lookout valley, make 10 to 15k more a year with no pressure to win.   They go 5-5 and they erect a statue or rename the field . 

Come to sp. And we boo getting a silver ball. 

 

My thoughts are sp needs someone like stone (not saying I want him as the coach  just using him as an example) someone who has been around and is invested in the program and actually has a love for the team and the city. I know we won’t find it but that would be the ideal situation

Roy I've been reading getting on coach t for about a year now and sportman finally talked me into making an account today. just wanted to say I look forward to getting to look at your murphy's fair book and  I wanna see what this Canada man can do
