The 2nd Annual Advanced Guard Camp was a huge success. We had players attend from as far west as Memphis and as far east as Knoxville. I might get some flack for saying this but I saw Shawn Marion and Trenton Hassell as 10th graders and Scotty Hopson is just as talented as they were at this stage in the game..

Tyrone Caldwell-5'11...great body and fierce competitor. finishes in transition with best of them.. still needs to improve ballhandling especially the ability to go left but he has gotten better. He played alot of 2guard this past year in H.S. and is developing into a really good pg on the AAU circuit this summer. With the experience that he is going to get this summer running the PG and some hard work this summer on his ballhandling and his mid range game, he will take his game to the next level. He will be a D 1 point guard .

There will be an equal amout of instruction and conditioning. We stress the importance of doing drills at game speed because we believe that come game time every possession counts. At the end of the day, they will be exhausted

Curosity thanks for asking..at the Advanced Guard Camp we really focus the fundamentals of playing the perimeter. We cover everything from dribbling to pivoting, to setting screens or better yet what do you do after setting a screen. Its not a camp where kids come and play games. Its an instructional camp. We don't do drills in the camp to look busy, we do drills with purpose and we do not let a camper do drills the wrong way without correcting them. We don't just explain how to do a drill, we expalin why we do the drill and how this drill will benefit a player in a game. I am the ring leeader but there isn't an instructor there that will have a DRY shirt at then end of the day. We get after it and we push each player to give there maximum effort. I try to create an environmnet that shows that campers the level of intensity that a player must have to play college basketball. I can go on and on. The goal is to give them some drills to take home to make them better, put them in a competitive enviornment with players their age from other parts of TN and KY,and to stress the importance of work ehtic. If you have any more questions please feel free to give me a call. I listed a couple of things that we will cover in the 1st paragraph but it will be much more. They will leave the Advanced Guard Camp exhausted but they will havea much better basketball IQ as well. Thanks
