She is a special player and I won’t take anything away from her amazing shooting night. To your question… have you ever met McKenzies coach? Meet him once and you’ll know.

Have not had the pleasure but I can see we would not see eye to eye on this topic

This is not the first year in 21 years that Westview hasn’t played Dyersburg. Get over yourself…just because Dyersburg girls are finally good again, you want to throw a fit about who will play you!

Also, you have to remember that Westview is only returning two starters (or players with quality minutes) from last season, then you add to that a junior that sat out all last year with an ACL tear and just returned, a freshman with no high school experience trying to adjust her game to high school,  a senior with a completely blown out knee for the second straight season that’s trying to play with a brace for her senior year coming off the bench, a sophomore that just transferred there and has no experience, and another sophomore with very, very little playing time last year. I know Westview has been good for several years, but they aren’t going to be peaking right away this season and will have some losses while trying to figure out who they are. Time will tell though and they will grow, but they aren’t the same team that won back to back state championships!

Sounds like a lot of excuses for not wanting to play.

Cardinal rule...all or none. We have 2 high schools and 7 middle schools...some could be classified as "feeder schools" but others routinely split where they choose to attend high school. Big question is, do you allow open recruitment and a free for all, or do you allow for the feeders and exclude the others? Or, do you allow other systems to play and disallow systems like ours.

Seems like we're trending towards just letting kids transfer at will and play without restriction no matter the circumstances in high school...might as well include everyone!

I don't like where we're headed with high school sports...vouchers, unrestricted transfers, ect... will soon have the large privates sorting through everyone else's rosters and cherry picking whomever they want...small privates get the leftovers, and publics get the table scraps. Proponents dangle the words and phrases "school choice", "power to the parents", "equality", and "transparency". The truth is that they (privates) have all the cards, some in plain view (premise of selecting for parents), but most (NIL, privilege of selecting at will) up their sleeves. 4.0 students and great athletes will select where they attend...everyone else can apply and be denied admission at the discretion of the school.

High school sports will look like the joke we have going on in college sports right now. Kid's playing at different schools every year highest bidder wins

What upsets me the most is the way refs let teams attack the player  that's controlling the ball. For example when o player comes down with a rebound with clear possession any player that reaches in and touches a arm it should be a foul. All these tied up situations really hurt the flow of the game. Most refs now just don't understand the game!

Coaches and players know officials are not going to call all touch fouls so they are going to see how far they can push it. Some nights it gets pretty bad !!!

We need to consider putting putting shoulder and hip pads on our players. Fillies got mugged all night and that useless bunch of officials did nothing to control things.

A lot of missed fouls on both teams

East wins 33-19. Up by 2 with about 6 minutes left, East got a really nice punt return TD from Elijah Usher to pretty much seal the deal.

Round three with Alcoa, but I think this will be tough for East to even stay close. This is probably their youngest of the three teams to go to Chattanooga and Dyersburg was able to gash them all night long only to mysteriously try to throw the ball. It wasn’t their strength and East swamped their passing game. I see Alcoa running all over the East lines.

Dyersburg losing their starting quarterback really showed up tonight

What are you talking about they beat Covington earlier in the year and were at home. Nobody said they didn’t have a chance. I’m not a Covington fan just a football fan in general so I could care less who they play in basketball next week

I’m not on here telling a bunch of kids who have overcome a lot they have 0 chance to win

That's pretty Classless running the kid down. He played his guts out Friday night. No one thinks he has skill set of Ty but he used the tools he had all year to try and help us . Yes he made some mistakes, all the kids did. And as far as me being delusional we did pass the ball Friday because that's what had to be done to give us a chance to Win and we would have if they called the holding on the kick when they tackled Cooper Spaulding out of bounds.

I’ll play what if game. What if Dyersburg quarterback plays they win by 30 again !

I watched the first Dyersburg vs Covington game in person. The front 7 for Dburg shut down the Covington run game completely and they had no answer passing the ball. The question will be what adjustments will Covington make to give their qb time to throw the ball?  Running on the Trojans is a tall task and Kalen Edwards, the big boy up for Mr. Football, lives in opposing teams backfields.

Westview only offense was quarterback running for his life don’t know if Covington quarterback can do that

I don’t know how many sacks we had tonight, or how many times that qb went down, but he kept coming. Dang tough kid that left it all on the field! Our worst offensive performance by a mile. Gotta have better playcalling next week or we’ll be sitting home the week after. Coaches gotta turn it up on offense and take a few shots and rely on the D. This “coaching not to lose” instead of coaching to win is gonna get us beat. Go for the jugular early and let it all hang out!

Definitely got out coached tonight !!!  Don’t know what’s going on with the offensive line but we better make some changes before Friday.

Well, its almost that time. The kids are heading to Dyersburg feeling confident in a bounce back from last game. Like I said earlier this week if we don't turn the ball over, we have a good chance to leave with the upset of the year. No doubt Dyersburg is a great team, but the QB/FS loss is going to be obvious tonight. Look for the passing attack to be in full affect tonight. Wouldn't be surprised if we put it in the air 40 times tonight. Go Chargers!

Westview only chance is to score every time they have the ball
