I hear that Brothers is a member of the CofC and Nashville Christian School is a CofC school so that may have some weight but who knows.  There is also a strong rumor floating around that there could be 2 more D2 coaching changes made before the start of next season.  D2 in many ways is nothing more than small college athletics.

I'm guessing FC after yesterday -retirement, Ensworth bc its always got something working.

The strong rumor that I am hearing out of West Nashville is that Brothers will takeover the Lipscomb Academy program.  Several of the BA people are saying that they feel the next BA coach will be a promotion from within the current BA coaching staff.  This is a different headmaster and Board of Trust than BA has had in past years.

Brothers is BA alum they are bred to hate Lipscomb even way back. If BA wants Brothers that will happen. McIntyre family has ties with Brothers through Vanderbilt and he's a QB coach.

It's not a surprised to me. New conference for UAB, fairly new stadium. UAB is a good football team that can win the American next season, and if they do, they can potentially be in a New Year 6 bowl game. Bill Clark did an outstanding job being a head coach for the Blazers. Passing the torch over to Trent will only make this team better.

He's earned the right! That's for sure.

Agree , he works to hard not to succeed at any level.

Congrats to Friendship Christian!   What a game!  You beat a team that recruits, recruits, recruits,  and still lost the championship.  Boo hoo!  Win like a champion!  Unlike NCS could have done!

FC is an organic program? Garrett Weekly from Kings , Devin Lively from Knox Catholic both promoted for Mr Football. Last year Bryson Reeves transfers into FC, all junior and seniors. Maybe  John Mcneal has transfer portal in high school that nobody else knows about. Recruiting off other schools roster. NC absolutely recruits using IEP which not many schools offer. So yes NC recruits but so does FC. DivII was created because of recruiting/FA. I don't believe most DivII A schools recruit but the top two this year absolutely both do. I would say its not a reach that every kid nominated for Mr Football in Div II were recruited/FA . Organic at top would be rare.

  6. DivIIA amazes me how some of these schools practice more less compete with lack of numbers. Taking school enrollment by TSSAA (272 below single A) and assuming 50% male/female ratio these are a look at numbers. MTC 36 football players 30% participation, Nashville Christian 64 players 51% participation, Jackson Christian 50 players 44% participation , FC 40 football players 38% participation, DCA 29 football players 28% participation. MTC and NC based on TSSAA enrollment are both 14 to15 kids away from being DivIIAA.  That's taking top two from each division with the exception of USJ whose enrollment already took them up to DivIIAA. I applaud these coaches for keeping programs competitive and to the players who are no doubt playing iron man football (both ways) big respect. Based on those eye opening numbers NC's Coach Brothers 51% participation needs to be modeled ,and DCA's Coach Wade how did he practice all year and keep them in the hunt with 29 players ? Throwing this in for fun watched MTC play most of the season and they win my most creative offense award, playing with what you got on roster.

NC will have their hands full with a new look JC.   the new QB has the task of delivering the ball to 3 players and don't mess things up.   He did his job last week.   I think this will be a close game unless they have 2 plus turnovers.

USJ and FC game will come down to who has the fewest penalties and who calls the best plays on 3rd and 4th downs.  Bruins have a solid team of players at every spot and these type games come down to sustaining drives which can be killed by yellow flags or kept alive by efficient play calling.   FC averages nearly 19 yards a completion.

Agree with you on FC/USJ . I've seen FC play four times this season and every game dumb personal fouls that show lack of discipline. NG 63 has at least 1 plus in all four games I've watched. They must know officials talk get labeled more likely to get flagged. DCA loaded the box shut down the run and pressured 8 into two interceptions. WR 6 has great hands one deep ball against DCA was 50/50 he caught and another one handed catch both poor passes.                                                                                                                                               NC/JC - Watched NC twice , JC only once in first round. I see this game having lots of points . If you haven't seen NC play the QB is amazing , he is hands down best QB in Div II A and he's a freshman!  I really like USJ QB 18 but NC kid is a future D1 talent.

  8. I've seen all four play this season , in my opinion NC is the most battle tested. They played a challenging schedule and the other 3 have not played near as many quality opponents . I'm taking NC to win it.  USJ / FC should be good game . DCA may have showed the road map to beating FC by loading box stop run and make them pass . USJ QB under the radar I believe he has a big night . I've seen FC play several games this year they kill themselves with penalties, usually personal fouls . It's hard to beat quality opponents when you shoot yourself in the foot.

  9. CPA and Pope should play up like BA, Ensworth, LA . It would make AAA even more sound. AA quality down w/o LA , the addition of USJ will help . Webb and Lakeway have both struggled in single A not sure how going AA helps division or programs. I realize not by choice but just adds more running clock games.

    1.  I have never heard of a private school in Tennessee blocking a former student/athletes eligibility if they transfer to a public school.  They typically just say that it was mutually beneficial for both parties to part ways.

    2.  If he has decent grades he could possibly transfer to IMG after Christmas.  It sounds like the young man may need to get away and be a boarding student so that he can refocus.

Agree and likely raise his stock on national level. Wish him luck .

How can he be eligible? Private to public. If he is kicked out he doesn't leave in good standing from his former school. Brainerd is not 20 miles from CCS. How do they swing this. Hardship. Minority hardship?

Curious , is the 20 mile as the crow flies?

CPA has not scored in the past 2 games against LA.. Any points by CPA automatically makes it a closer game ;)  How does '22 LA compare to '21 LA?

I think LA '22 run game not as good as '21 but '22 defense way better than last year.

  13. Some D2 schools need to leave comfort zone on scheduling and go challenge above them or in D2AAA some below them LA-CPA . BA vs CPA has been great games. LA-CPA playing Oakland had great excitement last season. Nashville Christian has played up, same four D2 schools last 2 years splitting with FRA, GP, BGA , sweeping DA. It makes for great rivalries in Midstate.
