I guarantee it has happened before and will continue to happen. I myself would consider that breaking the rules or cheating....but maybe I hold myself to a higher standard than most and am completely wrong.

I just don't understand the point in the suspension if a coach is allowed to do that.

A suspended coach I doubt is allowed inside the stadium and should not be. With technology, except for motivating speeches, I don't see the problem. He can watch the game on a lap top in the school bus and stay on the phone and still call plays.

When did Rang get ejected and who took over running things? Im shocked Oak Ridge got held to 3.

I'd have to re watch the game, but, I think it was 4th quarter maybe 6 minutes left. I have no idea on the 2cd question.

On the OR scoring 3, it was "that game". Combo of good MCHS defense and OR weirdness(totally out of sync, etc)

Game went the way I was worried about going in. They chunked OR out on that long drive to score early using a huge amount of clock. OR not being able to match that score settling for a field goal set the tone. The OR offense was just off especially the passing game with bad throws and drops. All of that let the officiating become a factor in the game and while I don’t usually complain about that, it seemed the calls were going against OR especially stuff like the sideline calls. But here again the offense was off enough and add poor field position and they never could get the lead, and the clock ran out and there you go. Lots of work to do this week especially on offense. Going to be a long night in Clinton next week if it doesn’t get cleaned up.

It reminded me of the 1986 OR Halls game in that 1st quarter. MCHS scores and it's about the 2cd quarter.

What I saw tonight was a team not worthy of a ranking. OR has A LOT to work on before they can even think about being a top 5 team in 5A. Tonight’s showing pretty much erased every good thing they’ve done so far this season. It was a pathetic showing, primarily offensively speaking. With that said, I take nothing away from MC. Like I said earlier, they deserved the victory, and got it.

It was the weirdest FB game .

OR was off from the opening kick, 3 TOs called just to get  plays in, one snap with a WR still looking at the staff for the call  so we get a critical motion penalty late( which OR could not afford due to MCHS good team D and OR O sputtering), 4 sideline flags, 2 marked off, 1 for 15 yards on 4th and 5 for MCHS, coach gets run which I have never seen in any level of FB in 68 years, OR dropped critical passes like the ball was hot, etc. Just a very weird night.

OH well, my parents were raised in McMinn county so I'd rather lose to the Cherokees than most teams. Good luck to them the rest of the season and the Wildcats need to return to the previous 3 weeks of productivity or we're gonna lose several games moving forward. Be real hard to handle some of our foes in the next 5 weeks.

Yeah of course you’re correct on that aspect. The WR in my comparison attended HS from beginning as a freshman. In fact he may have gone to AC before that. It was a family member employed there situation so transportation wasn’t as big a deal. However the same could apply if the 1 year sit out was observed as well without a legitimate address change. I’m certain you are aware of that also but I find sometimes that is overlooked by some. At any rate I’m a fan of transfers who do it legitimately and I’m also a fan of hammering a program that knowingly does not.

In this specific situation, it's probably legal because of the parental employment. OR has a fairly high tuition fee out of county, but, if you are an employee of the OR school system, your kid can attend here for free regardless of where you live. Employment perk.

That was really some game!!  I really like how Coach Rang schemes the offense, he stretches the defense, makes them cover everybody and moves defenders around.  Powell sure misses Potts and Company, they are pretty run oriented now. They had a good game plan to run the ball and shorten the game and it worked in the first half. The Powell offensive line is really good at protection and run blocking, those guys are hard to get by. WIldcats start a 5 game road trip now.  Won't see Blankenship until the end of October.  Quality win.

That PHS OL is strong. If they still had Potts and those WRs, it would be a fantastic team.

I'm impressed with Rang so far. Hope he and Oak Ridge become a thing together like our previous great coaches did.

No, I was just pointing out some of the schools they came from. I know for a fact they are going to school at Clinton.

Believe it or not, my nephew has a son starting for Harriman and his son said there's a girl who attends school at Harriman and plays softball for Bearden. It's legal if Harriman doesn't have softball, but, they do.
