Choke Ridge lives up to the name in this one. The Kittens from PAL win in a close one. The Test Proctor goes against Coach Soccer Slide, should be interesting.
Coach Test Proctor versus Coach Soccer Slide, I like it

BTW, my neighbor on Oklahoma Ave kicked for CHS a few years back. That's Roane County, so that was illegal, but, it was pre Coach Keith era. He gave them his uncle's address in Clinton as his home.
The kid had been raised mainly by his military career dad and all his friends were in Clinton because the kids lived in Clinton on much of his deployment, so to me it made good logic.

Not so fast my friend.
Pendergrass, Hundley and Blair all played this week. Pendergrass and Hundley both played last week.
There is some question/controversy brewing over this. One of the players according to many has yet to move from his Oak Ridge residence and he played in the game Fri. So, stay tuned for more on this.
IF those kids live in Anderson County part of OR, they can live here and attend CHS or ACHS. Both are Anderson county school system schools. I don't know which Pendergrass it is, but, DJ's son is starting for OR at DT and he's pretty good.

I am going with the Mighty Bulldogs, too. Little too much depth. 2 good teams who haven't hit their stride yet.

That was a good ole fashioned butt whupping. Good for JC

Ive got Oak Ridge by 14 in this one. Rang can coach and hes got some players this year.
How does Powell rebound losing a heartbreaker and having a short week.
Matt will have his guys prepared. I am not going to predict. I think OR can win the game and maybe should win it, but, Matt's had our number the last many seasons.
-
Should be a great game , kinda think West wins at home.
-
CHS should beat Scott, IMO. But, when your D gives up points that rapidly, you never know.

Be a hard game, gonna be interesting to see. Weird open week and all. I think OR can win this game, just have to play good ball 4 quarters.

I didn't think Farragut would beat DB but they found a way to win. That's what a well coached team does
I'm picking Farragut in another close one
Farragut 17 Powell 14
2 really good programs right now, gotta go with FHS like you. A little too much strength and depth.
-
Contrarian view, DB wins a tough game at home. They played FHS down to the last play and FHS is a perennial top 10 6 A team anymore
-
Willie B for the win

At AC, I'm going 31- 21 AC.

My concerns about Clinton is their defense. West struggled for 3 quarters against Bearden and then figured something out and started clicking.
If West plays the way they did in the 4th quarter against Bearden, Clinton is in for a long night.
I have a feeling this game may be closer than what alot of people think.
West's O is an old fashioned knock your teeth out system. Might be CHS can slow that down better than say Cleveland's offense. IF SO, I expect a good game. West has that rugged D so it needs to be a fairly low scoring affair, IMO.
Be hard though, West and Powell are always good anymore.

Well, I’ve never considered myself to be the brightest crayon in the box, but this one has legitimately stumped me.
He's making fun of Rang on the Powell test deal, but he has trouble spelling

Going to be a long year at JC if they don’t get the offense fixed, starting with the OC. Young QBs struggled throughout and got little help. RBs are good but not great (23 is going to be really good). WR suck. OL is good on the left and average on the right. Thought the defense looked solid aside from a corner, just on the field all night.
Probably be OK because the D is good. Spencer has to get the OL run blocking better, OR has to do that also.
-
Even though we struggled to run block, when anything was open at all, Dozier did work. That guy is so much fun to watch.

30-13 F. Jeff Co last score was on the subs. I was impressed with OR.
I thought our D was close to great. Team speed is excellent.
O struggled to get any consistency, but, Jeff's front 7 is rugged and we're young on the OL, so I expect we'll have a good O as the season moves along.
I was impressed with the poise of Stansberry.

Listening to Derek last night, seems like we're starting a few seniors and a ton of sophomores. Junior class seems non existent. Maybe I heard wrong. Also think the Bafford kid will end up being pursued by big time schools if he grows much at all, kid has good wheels for a big guy.

I like OR at home. I'll say 27 - 14
I'd guess this, too. I expect a tough game and OR wins it late, but, we do have a soph QB and that's always a fear for me.
We'll see tomorrow night.

OR and Kingsport has been a great long term rivalry, but, there are long gaps between games at times. I can't say what the record of it is, it was 22-22 several years ago. I think DB probably has a few games on OR now.

Yeah, not as athletic in years past, but a few of their posters have been talking about that on here. But I can pretty much guarantee they’ll be playing after Thanksgiving again, as usual. #7 is a darn hoss. They were missing their backup RB, too, so that definitely would’ve helped them. Typical hard nosed, well coached team that don’t get themselves beat and do all the little things very well.
Oh yea, I'd be surprised if they lose more than 1 regular season game. They always make very few errors and always take advantage of your errors.

Scrimmage report:
I thought OR looked good tonight. Blocked fairly well, ran well, passed OK, penalties at a minimum, team D was fairly good. Maryville looks good on the OL, typical crisp blocking, etc. Good team D as always, athleticism lacking, QB looked only OK. Maybe they had some not playing, don't know about that.
OR's QB threw some good passes and some bad passes, WRs caught what they touched. He's gonna need to grow up fast.
I didn't have a roster, but, it looks like OR is playing some sophomores on both lines.

I heard we lost Garza because the sophomore was ready and took the lead.
I don't know, but, I seriously doubt this is accurate. Garza looked pretty good late as a junior. Stooks has good talent, 0 experience. I know what a certain "insider" claims and that is the kid doesn't love FB and wanted to concentrate on grades.
8 hours ago, bounder said:Where did Garza end up or did he stay at OR and is just not playing?
He's at ORHS
CLINTON (0-2) @ SCOTT (1-1)
in Class 5A & Class 6A

I agree with 92, Scott will have to control the ball/clock. CHS hasn't played as well as they are capable so far on D especially.
Hope both teams play hard and I wish them both well.
