What would be the odds of winning all four in a row?? Not very good right???
To save everyone on gas Fayetteville and Cornersville need to go east. Let say Fayetteville would play SP in playoffs thats only 80 miles. If Fayetteville has to come to lets say Mckenzie that is 170 miles. I mean Brandon got everybody struggling out here only makes sense to me.

How is McKenzie the favorite? The last time I checked the defending champion is the team to beat until proven otherwise.
It is everybody not from McKenzie giving them all the smoke.

If he can’t win it with the talent that this senior class has, McKenzie won’t ever win one. I may be silly to say that about Comer. They may be content. McKenzie does like to hang up signs every time they simply make the playoffs.
We used to hang up signs now that every team with a pulse makes the playoffs we quit doing that. I think u have to at least make a semi final to hang up a sign.

1a is McKenzie’s to lose. They should be the favorites on every list. If you say otherwise you are just lying to yourself. If McKenzie can’t do it this year, with all of those weapons, Comer should hang it up.
Totally disagree there is not much that separates McKenzie from Peabody and Fayetteville as the favorite. If you are playing 7on 7 I take Mckenzie hands down but you still have to factor in line play and that could still be a question mark for Mckenzie. No disrespect but to say Comer should hang it up is just silly IMO if he loses to one those good teams.

I thought it was easily the 2nd best game in Chattanooga that weekend. Each team had chances to make big plays in passing game just couldn’t connect. Pirates D was salty and kept them in it but they don’t win the Gold without Kelly running for close to 200. McKenzie put almost 40 on Peabody the week before. Unfortunately you dont win when you can’t stop the other team. Pitt did what Peabody couldn’t. I do think Tide gets back and pulls the upset this year. I’m just keeping it real.
It was no secret McKenzie's achilles heel was it's O- Line. Not a lot of depth and were a bit undersized. with that being said them boys on that line fought their hearts out against some punishing defenses for weeks in a row Cornersville, Fayetteville, and Peabody. FWD to the 2nd half against SP them boys were spent and injured trying to fend off that good D- Line of SP but they continued to fight. Thought SP did a better job of exploiting McKenzie's weakness and the Rebels just didn't make the necessary adjustments all in all I thought it was a very good game to watch.

The stars won’t align this year !
Have yet to see any of the Rebel coaches looking through telescopes @ practice. But I have seen plenty of stars running around the practice field.

All I know is the gold ball is in South Pittsburg
That is a fact that can't be disputed well deserved. Just hope the Rebels can get another shot at it this year.

S. Pitt had some outstanding talent on the defensive line and at running back last year who I believe were Seniors any of those guys going on to play in college and if so where did they end up?

Can anyone challenge McKenzie's Marquez Taylor for Mr Football or should they just engrave it now?
I'm sure So Pitt, Fayetteville, Peabody, Lake Co. will have some kids in the mix along with Mckenzie's Cassidy. There is a whole season to play nobody wins awards in pre season you have to earn them.

They won’t. They played them earlier in the year. Gleason is playing good I agree. Wayne County and Dresden are too. North Green I thought would play McKenzie better.
I thought NG would have too. I guarantee Gleason will going to come down to the wire.

Need to bring this tournament back to UT Martin or Bethel

Whoever wins the McKenzie/North Green game will be the favorite, IMO. How does North Green handle McKenzie’s pressure and their 3 point game?? How does McKenzie handle Brooklyn Anderson?? She is hard to guard. Could we see some zone for McKenzie??
If both teams bring their A game I have feeling this is going to be the best game of the whole tournament. I have seen very little zone from McKenzie this year even against GC and WV who are similar I think to NG. I think you have to consider it with everything on the line especially if NG is handling the pressure well today may be the day for some adjustment

I have no idea how it is drawed up. Bottom bracket is tougher, IMO.
Definitely, Winner of NG and McK. plays Wayne Co. in the championship

How is the seeding done for this tournament? Why McKenzie and N. Greene in first round these are the 2 best teams . Is it random draw?

Looks like Moore County and Wayne County was a dogfight. Wayne County is a good team. McKenzie definitely favored but Moore County will battle with them I bet.
you are correct . I have viewed both teams games from last night . The MC and Wayne Co game looked like it was in slow motion after watching the McKenzie game. Whoever is able to control the pace of play that they are comfortable with will make all the difference. If MC can break the McKenzie press then slow it down in the half court they have a chance. If it turns into a track meet advantage McKenzie.

Do I still have no idea what I am talking about?? Last night's game was not even close from the tip. Final score is not indicative of how the game went. McKenzie was up by 30 after 3 periods and the starters were pulled where Houston Co. didn't pull any starters. Good luck at Wayne Co.
Yes- I still stand by my original statement that they are a solid basketball team and I won't be surprised if they make it to the state tournament. How you took that statement and made it sound like I said HC was the greatest team ever in your head is beyond me. I don't think they will beat Wayne Co @ home but if they do I won't be surprised either. To give you another example McKenzie beat Huntingdon pretty good twice this yr. but I still consider Huntingdon to be a solid basketball team see where I am coming from hoss.

What does Moore Co bring to McKenzie Saturday night? Don’t know much about them.
I have seen both play and anything can happen in these tournaments but I really think Moore Co is fixing to run into a buzzsaw Saturday night

It’s the worse I’ve seen since I’ve been watching. Class A has always been my favorite classification to watch. I’ve watched a handful of games this year and it’s been brutal to watch.
Yeah you remove the best team in state probably in any class along with 2 other strong programs its going to be down but I wouldn't call it brutal to watch. Probably going to be one of the more competitive state tournaments in some time there is probably 5-6 teams that have a chance to win single A

Homer quote. Loss to Camden was a baaaaaad loss. The regular season games against McKenzie was more the Rebels playing down to their opponents than Houston County actually being a threat. The score in the district championship game was more indicative of the separation between McKenzie and HC. They might not get past Perry Co in the second round of regions.
You have no idea what you talking about. Have you even watched them play. Already beat Perry Co by 15 this yr. Not sure what happened in the loss vs Camden but they also beat Camden by 15 this year. I have seen games all over west and Middle TN this year and I am telling you they have a good solid team there in Houston Co.

I believe we can discount at least 3 of those teams. Houston Co. can't handle the pressure that McKenzie plays with on defense and I don't see them fairing any better than they did in the regular season or district tournament matchups. Only 1 of those 3 Region 5 teams will be the runner-up so McKenzie won't face the other 2 so we can rule them out. Concern for McKenzie are the weak district opponents but Wilkins toughened up their schedule with games against the top teams in the state (Westview, Gibson Co.) in any division so I believe they can handle anything Region 5 brings.
I wouldn't be surprised if Houston County made it all the way to the state tournament. They are a very dangerous basketball team.

I know what McKenzie and our side has. What about Perry Co, West Carroll, and the rest.
Perry Co. has losses against McEwen and Houston Co. WC record is 13-11 about all I know

McKenzie and Houston co last night. 26 threes between the two. McKenzie won 74 to 68. I think that was the final. McKenzie was 15 of 16 at free throw line. These two should play again next Friday at McEwen for district title.
That is some impressive shooting do you know what the percentages were from behind the arc.

Fayetteville will be really really good and Thomison is a beast for sure. I agree that one mistake definitely hurt their chances and was away from the play but unfortunately it was way too obvious not to call. Whoever plays the cleanest out of those three will be the difference again this year.
