I never disqualified the fact of that but maybe your to incompetent to realize that a region is made up of more than 2 teams and that the state had a realignment and as of this year in what shape or form is region 1 better than region 5 overall?

We scheduled 1 6a team and 2 5a teams and due to Covid we tried to get teams to fill our schedule even from the Knoxville region including Maryville and Alcoa but that’s what happens when you become a solid program …. No takers

First off Tullahoma is not my team im just giving them the upset bid since ive seen them play and they are from middle TN. Tullahoma is going to be just as or if not more physical than Greenville so not sure how that will result in losing by 3 scores when that game down to 1 score but carry on. Greenville was talented no doubt but everyone on here knows they was not the best team the entire state they would not beat Alcoa, Oakland, Summit, Maryville,Powell, more can me mentioned if need be. Dont compare stats you can get in trouble doing that. Tullahoma prolly plays in the hardest region in the state that plays into factor.

You lost me at hardest region

Tullahoma pulls off the upset this week to physical of team to handle.

If it comes down to physical, your team will lose by 3 scores. If you all beat the Cyclones it will be throwing the ball. No team in the state any more physical than Greeneville which was ranked in some of the TSSAA poles as the over all #1 team in the state of Tennessee, that’s over all even 6A, and Betsy handled them. And by the way Since you all seem to like stats go compare Tully stats to Greeneville

Was last years team all seniors? Did nobody on last year team graduate? We have a lineman that is a National Merit Finalist. We graduate our seniors. This ain't like Dallas where the same guys play year after year.

We reload. This team is stacked with talent from seniors down to the incoming class of freshman which out scored  their opponents 400 to 36.   Betsy is build different

The stats are useless. Tullahoma scored 49 points in the first 10 minutes against Glencliff and put freshmen and sophomore in for 3 quarters and played the second half with 10 minute quarters because it was so over. In fact several games were such blow outs that younger kids played half the game. The wildcats could have scored another 200 points this year if it mattered and not allowed any in a few games. A Win is a Win nobody wanted to just pile on when it's over.  The stats just don't tell the story.

And do you not think the majority of Elizabethton’s games weren’t blow outs also? Lol.    Just because we aren’t Greeneville and dnt run the score up dnt mean that we couldn’t. Don’t worry you won’t have to worry about playing your second or 3rd string Saturday.

Ya know that crazy thing to me is if this was Greeneville playing Tullahoma they would already have the gold ball in the case in Greeneville.  Heck,  they had the gold ball midway through the season.  But it’s not Greeneville.  I like the position the cyclones are in.  This team is battle tested and played a very tough schedule and post season.  I think Tullahoma will be the 2nd best team they’ve played thus far.  That’s no disrespect either.  Saturday will come down to who makes plays when it matters most.  I see a low scoring game and ball control being huge.  These two teams a so much alike it’s crazy.

I agree with you, Greeneville is better team than Tully…. No disrespect to Tully they may very well beat us  if we dnt play like we did against Greeneville.

What does everyone think? Do you see experience and fatigue maybe playing  a part? I see a more Wildcats playing both ways. Cyclones really don’t have a lot that do that. That can wear on you in a 4qtr game. And I see this being a tough game. Anyone got anything?

Cyclones have multiple players playing both ways. More so now than the first of the season. Might even see our quarterback play safety if need be. On the fatigue issue, I feel that the only way Tully wins is they get up big early and if not they are in trouble, because I know for fact they will not out condition Betsy. We do have a couple of players that need to get healthy… quickly and that could hurt us bad if they don’t

Elizabethton defense is giving up 10.9 points per game though 14 games while their offense is scoring 33.7 points per game.  T Town defense is giving up 9.3 points per game through 14 games and their offense is scoring 38.1 points per game.  I'm gonna go against my gut and say Tullahoma pulls out a very tight win.  Either way I think its a 3 point difference at the most.

The issue with these statistics are that it’s based on your opponents out on the west side which no disrespect but has been known to be the weak side of the state when it comes to 4A football. Statistics are only relevant really if we had some common opponents. But I like everyone thinking we are the underdog. This bunch of young men from Elizabethton are a special group, probably will never be another group like them again and we sure hope they can complete this dynasty

I've only seen Tullahoma in person but if both teams play a clean game, I think this one is going to come down to the wire. Both teams are well coached and play a physical brand of football. Not sure who has the overall talent advantage. Maybe the Wildcats but it is very close. How many seniors play significant snaps for the Cyclones? I felt like Haywood vs Tullahoma was a repeat of the state game last year. Haywood had more talent, but Tullahoma was the better team hands down. #7 for Betsy last year was an absolute man and I enjoyed watching him play. I think it will be the best game hands down.

4 or 5 seniors on offense and 5 or 6 seniors on defense, but the defense definitely being the strength of the team. And that’s not to take away anything from the underclassman, this team Is stacked with talent from top to bottom. I believe the Junior varsity team only lost 1 game to 6A team and the middle school team coming in next year were undefeated and outscored their opponent 400 to 36 so the future looks bright for the Cyclones.

  10. Betsy fan here! I’ve watched a lot of Tullahoma film over the past few days… my takeaway is they are more athletic than Betsy but so was Greeneville. I believe we have a better defense than anyone they have faced. With that being said betsy must limit their big pass plays and get pressure on the quarterback. Tullahoma not afraid to run trick plays either. Betsy needs the same intensity as the Greeneville game to beat Tullahoma. The same performance that was put up against Upperman will not get it done. Also Betsy has some players that need to get healthy this week in a hurry. This should be a really good game to watch if Betsy can play ball control, but this game is a toss up.
