Page qb is killing west with his legs
-
Kind of getting interesting. 24-13 and west best weapon on the night appeared to get injured

Probably game over at this point. Page has a chance but it’s slim.
They’ve looked really good on defense up until the Hail Mary at the end of the half. Just given up bad field position on the other two scores. Very stout on the d line
-
Two heck of a plays by west receivers to end the half. #1 steals a potential page interception away and #9 with heck of a catch
-
I don’t see West losing this. Playing teams like Alcoa, Bearden, Maryville, and Powell 2x might make this game look a little easy like last years. But props to Page 3 years in a row going to state is something to be proud of.

the ball was already contested when FP stopped. You should watch it on tv. Looked like the right call.
Idk to me looked like 5 west players dragging and contorting the qbs body while Powell players stand and wait for the whistle. Didn’t see the penalty on tv just them standing around waiting on the refs.

How did that lead to the ejection again. Mabey a little more explanation than blaming it on the refs. Mabe the kid just lost his composure and his team was getting boat raced so he acted out. Powell running game doesn't' depend on #13 doing well, it depends on #2 running it well. If #2 is running it well then you can't key on #13. #2 didn't act like he really wanted to run it that much. Then the defense can key on #13. Or maybe West was that much better on defense than Powell was on offense.
I mean every team is going to be protective of their qb. If the refs isn’t going to call forward progress and let them drive the qb to the dirt the team will be pretty upset. Just my take west is the better team overall I’m not doubting that I hope they bring back a championship.

Powell had chances to get back in the game up until they tried to pick up a blocked punt and west ends up with the ball. Just the same mental errors on defense and having their key offensive players banged up most of the season hurt them.
-
The whole ejection thing started because the refs wouldn’t blow the whistle. Deuce was bottled up being pushed back but refs just let it go and he fumbles. Game was over at the point anyways but lethargic reffing.
-
Not sure how deuce wasn’t ruled down by the time he fumbled

Boy, no clue what Matt was thinking on that long FG on 4th and short.
Powell does end up getting 2 instead

Anyway the freshman qb for Powell has played plenty throughout the year. Probably more of a pocket passer and Deuce is more of a dual threat. Interested to see the direction Powell takes with 2 underclassman with qb1 potential next couple years.
-
I remember one of their better players having to retire in the middle of the season the year they lost to HC at state. Pretty sure they take it serious.

It was 3 plays before the TD pass that his head bounced off the turf pretty hard. I think they took a time out and he jogged off a little gingerly. After the timeout he came back in, ran 3 more plays. Third one was a beautiful TD strike. Then they put in the back up on the next series to finish it out. So, who knows. I'm sure West will prepare as if he is playing.
Oh I see it was the last play of the first quarter. Looks like they handed it off two times then threw the td pass after that play so he didn’t get touched again thankfully.. if it is a concussion. Hope he is alright he’s got a lot more football in his future.

Will Pal’s QB start or? I did read where he was injured in Friday night’s game. Don’t expect any Pal supporter to confirm if he will start or not, but if he ain’t I’m definitely picking West. If he’s healthy and playing I’m going with Powell because it’s extremely hard to beat a quality team twice in the same season as my Wildcats found out Friday night unfortunately, especially a team as good as Powell is.
I’m not sure what happened but he threw a td pass and wasn’t touched on the play. Just never went back in after that. Was on the sidelines cheering on the team.

I mean Powell completely shut down West for most of the game and still lost. Just seems like Powell will have to do the same things but even better and more disciplined. The special teams mistakes shouldn’t happen again.

Powell deep in SC territory chipping away at the clock

Panthers in control, up 24-7 at half.
Any word on deuce? Been playing the freshman at qb
-
Powell 7-0 after a botched punt attempt by SC Deuce runs it in

Pretty impressed by how balanced the Sevier co. offense is and how evenly the qb distributes the ball with his wideouts. Gotta see how they will handle Powell’s d line and the speed on the edge. I don’t see Sevier winning if they score under 21 points.

Do you know what the injuries are?
Just heard the Tennessee High broadcaster say they got up gimpy and were being looked at on the sidelines. He said one was being tested for concussion but who knows.
-
Should be a good one. On the Tennessee High vs Powell radio broadcast sounded like Wheeler and Soles got a little banged up. Powell will need them healthy to have a chance in the next couple rounds.
-
Not looking good for halls down 21-7 3q
-
Hopefully Powell can rest their starters in the 2nd half. May have to travel to sevier county next week

That Palmer kid was doing a really good job not sure if that’s normal for page to switch out qbs
