I'm not sensitive.  Just not going to let you or anybody else infer that I have said something that I haven't.  You can take your "strawman" comment and shove it.

Wow. Mods will be on this one. I'm not sure you know what "strawman argument" means. It means you took what I said and changed it to make it easier to defeat in an argument. again, relax. I don't think you've said anything. Only think there's unintended consequences powers that be haven't considered. I'm saying absolutely nothing else

    Strawman?

Or perhaps maybe you just think you are superior to those actually tasked with making the hire.

Nothing I said is "strawman" in nature.  And your admission that they were aware makes your finger pointing completely illegitimate.

And tell me where I have suggested that hiring a coach who isn't inside the building for his/her "daytime" job a good idea?  In fact, I have indicated just the opposite and I don't believe it will happen here, either.

Don't put words in my mouth.  Ever.  I'm a Bearden alum.  I want to see this hire done right.  And nowhere have I said that I believe that the one who is assumed to be the hire is or isn't the best choice.

Don't get sensitive HTV. I don't think you've said any of this. You simply defended the panel in their acumen for doing this and I'm simply afraid they've overlooked obvious consequences to certain decisions. R-E-L-A-X.

So you think they weren't made aware of the requirements for the candidate from an eligibility standpoint from the get go? You think they went in to it thinking they could hire whoever they wanted without KCS HR needing to approve?    As I said, all but one are Knox County Schools employees.  They know how it works.

Sometimes I wonder if anybody here ever thinks about what they post before hitting "submit reply".

As usual HTV, a strawman argument from you.

OF course they were made aware of the literal requirements. But it dont seem theyre thinking of the fallout of decisions. It might be totally "legal" to hire a coach that's not in building that won't retain any in building coaches, but what is the fallout? That's all Im wondering about

The committee consists of school personnel, with the exception of one sitting in simply as a courtesy.  They are fully aware of the requirements that the candidate must meet.  This isn't Bearden's nor Knox County Schools HR's first rodeo.

This quite literally is everyone on the hiring committees 1st rodeo. None of them have done anything like this before. This is the leader of a program in charge of 100 students involving 300-350 parents attracting thousands of people every Friday night to your campus. better hire someone with their stuff buttoned up.

I will come back and eat crow if I am wrong, but you would think that KCS would require him to at the very least be involved in the building as a TA in order to approve the hire. Who will manage all of the academics/discipline/culture/recruiting/etc during the school day while JJ is out doing... well whatever he does during the day?

Tough to imagine anyone will. Apparently those issues haven't occurred to the hiring committee.

From what I hear, Jones confirmed to several folks that he got the job. If what I am hearing is correct, it sounds messy. As a long time West fan, pardon if I chuckle a bit.

Ugly on Powells end or on Beardens end 5A?
