I hope you’re wrong, but to say TP would not be a good fit… blasphemy. Gallatin has struggled with fitness, weight room , and the obvious scheme issues on offense above all. TP focuses more than any coach I know on Weight room and fitness levels. That in itself would improve Gallatin probably immediately.. as for the Scheme issues… it can’t get any worse.

During the offseason TP spent a lot of effort in sport psychology classes for himself and his players to learn how to win again after losing 6 in a row. Theres A lot of good things I can say about TP. He would hands down be one of the top options at Gallatin. With that being Said that would be a terrible day if he did.

Hire a guy who needed a sports psychologist because he couldn’t coach well enough to win any of the last 6 games. Now that’s a sales pitch I’ve never heard before.

This thread was just a though exercise.    There are some who think you can't win in high school unless you are slinging it all over the field.     I'm just wondering, unless you had an exceptional QB and receivers (all D1 prospects) would it be better to spend most of practice time learning something simpler, run blocking and running and build a solid offense out of that?    "Simpler" in the preceding sentence just means less moving parts to the play.      I dunno guys, I see so many high schools who come out of each huddle and line up in dozens of different formations and so forth....   and most of those teams were sitting at home eating turkey leftovers yesterday.      How many pass plays does Oakland have?    What about Knox West?      That's right, they line up and concentrate on doing ONE singular thing well instead of trying to complicate it so much.       I remember about 10 years ago watching the 6 playoff games in Cookeville, it was weird because that year Maryville was the only game where a team passed more than 5 times.     These are high school kids, not elite NFL players.        Well I've had my say, as always please respond with dissenting views.

Play to your teams strengths. If you have a D1 QB and 4 D1 WR’s then yeah I’d prolly throw it 70% of the time. If it’s you me and two other posters playing receiver then I’d focus on not throwing it.

Personally, I think Haywood was a heck of a team but probably the third best team we seen this year behind mba and Lipscomb Academy.  I think Haywood players thought PC would fold eventually but as the game kept going they seen it wasn’t gone happen. HW will be back next year, bigger and stronger faster.

Yes PC’s schedule definitely helped them. Haywood’s nowhere near the best team PC has seen and PC is the best team haywood had seen. Haywood played one team (Milan) the entire season who could pass the football and they aren’t close to efficient passing. That’s just a fact.

TSSAA couldn't care less where kids go to school. TSSAA regulates schools from assembling athletic talent for the sole purpose of competing against other teams within their association. There are many rules in place to prevent such an event from happening, including coaching links and transfer policy...thus the MAHS transfers requiring a hardship exemption.

I have been in support of the MAHS kids who are now at MASE all season...they were placed in a bad situation by some horrible people but have come out of that chaos smelling like a rose. Fans have a right to question the validity (pretty shady at best) of how an entire team (coach included) changed schools and were green-lighted to play, and you have a right to answer or not as you wish...I find it pretty funny that most of the supporters though feign being shocked that anyone would question the complete innocence of everyone involved.

It was coordinated...you got away with it...just let it go.

Trader didn’t Scotts Hill’s best baseball player of all Time drive 35 mins from Lexington every day? One of your best now travels from Decatur Co every day. Just confused on why it matters about innocence or yadayada when your own school does some shady stuff. Yes I know the Henderson Co enrollment situation. I know Shelby Co’s and charter schools’ too.

No, I don't care for some teams for the simple fact that some of yall do nothing but whine.  First you complained about competing against privates who offered financial aid. Thus the birth of D2. Then yall complained that D1 privates who played by D1 rules had other unfair advantages. You got the multiplier for a number of years.  You guys still continued to complain, so you got the rest of us privates banished to D2. The problem is you are still not satisfied. Thus, the everyone gets a trophy comment. You mock me about playing a school with 100 or so more kids than us now. With the way talent seems to flow, my school playing  a D2 who has  100 to 200 more students would be like your school lining up against a team like Haywood on a weekly basis. You would not like the results and neither would I for what you proposed. Sure, I'd like for there to be more teams in D2 in all classes. But how far can you go in regulating a more level playing field in D1 without adding more classes, thus the trophy comment again.

    Anyway, time for hoops.

Does sacred heart still play 8 man football? TCA should join.

the poster is not crying, just stating a fact.  MASE is an all star team a d it will be a good game . The bracket God's shined on them not having to leave Memphis during the playoffs.

All star team? They’re a really good 1A team. Not an all star team and not world beaters. Why’s this only an issue with MASE? Why did nobody care when Peabody had a few madison County kids (two being a set of brothers) or that Henry Co took Martin kids or that McKenzie took an Atwood kid or that Dyer Co and Dyersburg robbed lake county blind. MASE is playing by the same rules that allowed all of those and they all like to use “homegrown” stuff.

How did Crockett and union city look?

It was probably the game of the year and was only opening night. Neither team great. I don’t know how many UC football players are missing from the basketball team. Crockett hit a 3 to go up 1 with 15-20 seconds left.
Both teams play under control for the most part. Neither overly athletic or big.

I saw South Gibson in their play day. they looked okay. Did you see their game last night? I went to TCA Chester.  Chester has a lot of potential. TCA looks really good. Coach Williams Son is a player.

No I watched my nephew play. Union City vs Crockett. Just saw the SGC score and thought it was impressive they doubled up Peabody even though they don’t have the football kids.
yes dexter’s son is really good. He’s going to build a contender in D2-A soon

  9. Who are the top teams? I think it’s clear SGC may be a region favorite. Haven’t seen anything of liberty. Haywood and bolivar played last night. Both should be good. Not sure how many players haywood has out for football but I only saw a halftime score. I expect for boys to be down this year on this side of the state with West Carroll, Milan, and Peabody losing key players. I think JSSHS lost everyone and JNSHS lost a good chunk too.

Go look at the schedule his team played it’s a joke Lmaoo!! Dude trolls all season and his team gets bounced early every season.

Oh I know. He’s the worst. they go from an overrated 5A program to a middle of the road, no shot at ever winning anything meaningful, 6A program this off-season though.

I live in your head and I love it. Anyways good luck getting trounced this Friday night.

Have you seen how the regions align next year for the playoffs? I have a hard time believing these trolls will be worth typing next year with the potential first or second round trouncing you all will receive from the blaze

Can we stop giving Peabody the advantage because of “scheduling”?

MASE put that to rest over the past two weeks.

Can you read well? I said MASE isn’t 3 TD’s better than MAHS 2021 and that the terrible MASE schedule is skewing their opinions. I never mentioned the weak schedule is why Peabody is better. Peabody is better because they have an identity on offense, can beat MASE up front, have a senior QB with a plethora of games under his belt, and a coaching staff that has done this a hundred times. MASE has an 8th grader playing QB and they couldn’t run the ball effectively against JCM. You will see.
