Yes, but what I’m saying is that it’s excessive. Like whose coming out with that info?

I’m not saying she’s not the “#1 ranked player.” But if “they” are saying she’s ranked that high, then who is the #1 ranked player for the class of 2028 and 2029? Because I’m sure “they” have that info somewhere.

Not sure on those and I believe those come out this summer, but Jerzy Robinson is the #1 ranked player in 2026 . I haven't looked that deep into it beyond the current high school classes.

I have a hard time figuring out how they’re already making rankings for the class of 2027. They’re all still 4 years away from graduating. Not saying Mike Keith was wrong, but it does make me question where he got that info from. Or how there can be a list of players that far out until they graduate?

She's the #1 ranked player in the 2027 graduating class as rated/projected....in the Nation. Has been since she was an 8th grader.

Westview will be good next year, but I think people are underestimating how important Alexander has been to this team for the last couple years.  She was Westview's best player this year.  Losing her will have a major impact

With the progression of Evans (the post) during the year, to me..WV will be more dangerous next year with their PG coming back to full strength. It seems their offensive identity starts and finishes with a true PG and their sets. They've been blessed with having outside bombers during their run and I imagine they'll still be able to come up with 2-3 outside shooters on the floor.

5 fouls called in like :33 seconds. Lol

Not good officiating for sure. I hope the official's supervisor is still at the game. This is wild. 6 fouls in a within 1 min 50 seconds....against one team. This one is going to be in the 20% bad officiating category. lol

  5. Awesome job  Gibson County. 4th Gold Ball and coming back to the North-West. All of the Wilkins(s) are great coaches and will have their teams in the hunt. Tough programs, but moments like this make it worth it. Congrats to the Lady Mustangs on a great season. I wasn't crazy about all of the officiating up there, especially the guy who looks like a wavy-haired preacher. He made some calls that I didn't understand and some no calls that were obvious. 80% plus of the games I watched were officiated pretty well (it's a hard job).

For WV to make it back after graduating their big stars, then not being at full strength, plus having the target on their back for being back to back champions. They went down with honor, we will be back and better next season.

Being completely honest, I wasn't sure WV would make it this year (especially after Simpson & Brent went down), but the silver lining is I believe only 1 senior was on the floor today for them so I'd say they'll be pretty competitive next year again. I was also told that they have a couple of 8th graders coming up that are pretty decent players in their own right. I knew their only losses this year before State were to GC, Huntingdon, and S Gibson (all at State) and they had the #2 strength of schedule). WV has a good program and go about it very businesslike.

  7. Watching the AA games today....I'm pulling for GC to win it all, but I think that York is the favorite by a slim margin. I think this may have been the strongest AA tournament top to bottom in recent history. Great games. Go Pioneers. Congrats to WV on a great season. With the losses of the seniors from last year and the injuries this year... an impressive return.

Gave them all they wanted tonight…was 2-3 threes falling or 2-3 layups away from pulling it out. Came out flat to start second half and hurt us. Did a good job keeping Hart’s points down and took Rivers out of it and that was the game plan going in. I was shocked Haskins came out in something other than the 2-3 but it was a good call that just about worked out

I think GC is the better overall team with the best player, but I don't know what the free throw disparity was tonight...but it seemed a bit one-sided. I don't remember WV shooting a free throw?? Props to WV for making it a game, but GC made the adjustments they needed at half. It was a good game and hopefully we'll see a Part 5. Congrats GC! 34-1 and rolling.

Looking at the west, does anyone know if westview, Peabody, and GC has any competition in the region or are we looking at another GC vs WV showdown?

I can see the 4th installment of GC and WV, but GC is the favorite coming out of the West and seems to be on a mission. If WV makes it to state this year, they'll be competitive but they're not as dominant as in recent years.

See you automatically referenced this post that somebody from Gibson County made that comment. #goPioneers!! Gibson County, Peabody and Westview will all be tough outs for any team. Lots of tough teams. McMinn Central, Gatlinburg Pittman, York, East Nashville, Loretto, Summertown, Westview, Peabody, Cheatham County. Lots of ball to be played.

I agree, but I think the ball returns to GC this year.

McKenzie's coach played all 7 of his players as well and Davis sat the 4th quarter. My whole point is this was an outstanding  performance by a McKenzie player and all the haters want to do is throw shade @ Mck. coach . My only regret is she sat the 4th quarter she would have easily tied or broke the national record.

I can personally attest that McKenzie's coach is a very good coach and he's going to do it the way he's learned. He's going to be successful and it's in his DNA. That shooting exhibition is something very special. MTSU is getting the best slashing/shooting player from our area. Great show young Davis!! Some guards go the entire season without making 17 threes..much less in one game.

Does Westview avoid playing tough teams in the regular season in West Tennessee?  I hear that often from fans and I have heard from other coaches as well.  I don’t have any true info on that but that is the reputation they have.  I was surprised South Gibson beat them tonight.

I haven't seen Westview this year and I think there's a high probability that they're not as good this year compared to the last couple for sure, but I think a lot of the Westview bashing is kind of undeserving. I saw where they're in Myrtle Beach at a tournament and have beaten the current 6th-ranked team in their 2A division and beat the defending South Carolina 2022 4A state champs yesterday. According to CoachT, if I read it correctly, currently they have the 2nd toughest strength of schedule unless I'm missing something. My little cousins played for them over the last 8 years so I'm familiar with the program. I think my hometown GC Pioneers are every bit of 10-12 points better than Westview this year, and GC should be ranked #1 when the polls come out. I do applaud the Westview faithful though. They treat it like a business and hardly engage on CoachT that much and they let everyone else do the talking. I can appreciate that. #goPioneers!!

After reflecting on this game it has been hard for me to put into words how I feel. It was personal for me as I have a Senior on the team #15 Will Kibbler. He missed practice Wednesday because of how sick he was and in all reality had no business playing Friday night because he was still sick. But there was no way you were going to keep that kid from playing.I cannot express how proud I am of him and his teammates. They will leave a legacy of hard work and determination behind them.

Great season and great team. I've enjoyed seeing the growth from this group over the years. If a team is going to get put out, it's better to get put out by the defending state champs in the semis. Still a great season to make final 4.
