  1. Unfortunately it was a typical game vs SW, slow, grinding, and them shooting a lot of free throws. Kingston had no pace, couldn't throw it in the ocean, and couldn't keep SW off the free throw line.  I've heard Polk Co is a mirror of SW, so that game may be less than 80 total points scored.  We'll see about Kingston vs CSAS. If it was at their place I'd feel differently, but them coming to Kingston helps a lot.  Meigs & Loudon both traveling to Chatt and would have to play their best games of the year, but I never count Meigs out regardless.  They can score, have multiple ball handlers, defend well and they are experienced.  Never know this time of year.

  2. Kingston won at Meigs on Friday and sealed the #1 seed.  Kingston plays Loudon tonight, while Meigs plays Central and Sweetwater at Tellico.  Sweetwater will get the #2 seed with a win at Tellico, Loudon and Meigs still playing for the 3-4 seeds, which is important because the district tourney is satellite and the higher seed hosts. Still quite a bit to play for, but I have no idea how the tie breaker would swing if they have the same district record.

  3. As of today it's Kingston with a 1 game lead on Sweetwater, and everyone has 3 district games remaining.  Tellico at Kingston, Meigs at Sweetwater, Loudon at Central tonight. I heard the big from Central was ejected last night in their game vs Mcminn County, so Loudon has an opportunity to go there and get a win. They are playing pretty good right now. I always feel like Meigs will compete wherever they play, and I expect Tellico will play better vs Kingston this time.  The next week will determine the top 1-5 spots.  Apparently the district tournament is satellite and the higher seed will host, with the region at Tellico - or at least that's what I've been told.

  4. Looking like 1. Central, 2. Meigs, then a toss up on the final four.  Kingston has the athletes to challenge every night but they don't really seem to have an identity. I've seen them look good and also not so good, sometimes within the same game.  I didn't see Sweetwater or Tellico earlier this season, saw Loudon last night. Those 4 look like they could beat each other any given night.

  5. Kingston beat Loudon, Meigs loses to Central, & Sweetwater beat Tellico last night.  Loudon is better than I expected. I'm convinced Central can beat anybody on any given night; and Sweetwater also has the ability to win close games the way they play. This Friday Kingston vs Sweetwater and Loudon vs Meigs are big games.

  6. I've seen everybody in the district minus Loudon, but looking at their schedule results, I agree it looks like Meigs & Kingston are the top 2 in this district. That game Friday night was strange, Kingston was on the verge of breaking it open a few times and Meigs kept fighting back. Meigs is well coached and they don't ever quit.  This week will have a huge impact on the district seeding with Kingston playing Loudon and at Sweetwater, Meigs has Central and at Loudon. Any idea where the district tourney is begin played this year?  What about Region tourney?

  7. I saw Meigs, Central & Kingston play over Christmas, but they all played weak single A teams.  Kingston & Meigs play this Friday.  A lot of district games in the next 3 weeks that will likely decide the District tourney seeding.

  8. I saw the Meigs vs Sweetwater score but didn’t know it was an OT game.  Sweetwater doesn’t have much depth, and Meigs looking pretty tough at this point. They play Loudon Monday and that’ll be an interesting game. I was also surprised about Central beating County.  But I think Central has the potential to beat anybody in the district any given night, especially if the refs let the game get physical. Kingston drilled Tellico, but it was only a 6 point game at half from what I heard, got ugly in the third quarter.  Tellico has some talent but they are young.

  9. 2A Region 2 this year: Tyner looks to be strong again, and I think they only lost their PG from last year and probably the consensus favorite for a glass house trip.  CSAS looks good by the scores I've seen and I think they have a stud. Brainerd seems to always be solid, and I was thinking they were fairly young last year. Polk also has won some nice games this year. Kingston has a new coach this year and has won some nice games already.  Mcm Central has lost some close games but should be pretty good, and Meigs lost quite a few seniors from last year but has won some games already.  Loudon seems to be solid and no idea about Tellico.  Thoughts?

I can’t decide which player I think better. Milen or the kid from Kingston. I think I’m leaning towards the kid from Kingston I think he’s more expensive but the kid from Polk is smooth.

Yes, both very good, and also very different.  Milen (Polk) is very smooth and Raymer (Kingston) is very explosive.  Milen plays more perimeter and very good off screens, Raymer consistently attacks the rim but will also shoot the 3.  Played together in AAU last spring/summer.
