I don't have a dog in this other than knowing some of the girls on cloudlands team, but it sounds like sour grapes to me,I've been all over the state watching both boys and girls basketball, most students sections are brutal on the refs and opposing fans and team,im not saying its right but don't single a team out for what a lot of teams do.

It’s not the point of singling them out honestly, any team that said the stuff they did to the girls on the court & the NG fans sitting near them would have been pointed out as well. There are great games played with great student sections that have class & respect the other team & fans without using profanity & degrading remarks. If that were the case, I wouldn’t have anything to say about a good, rowdy game.

That student section only been to 3 games all year.  As for athletes,  we play a cleaner brand of ball than NG.  That's all I'll say on the matter.  Time to move on.

Swept under the rug…As expected. Your girls aren’t as clean as you think. Moving on to what will be a great game tonight. Prayers for a healthy game on both ends.

I was up top.  I've got the livestream and didn't hear any profanity.  Not saying you're lying and I wouldn't condone such behavior

I’m certain you wouldn’t since you have daughters on the team. The lucky candidates were the shirtless ones on the front row and a couple in the mix. The behavior will continue if it is tolerated by school officials and I am certain they know what was said and how their students acted towards players and adults sitting nearby in the stands. At the end of the day, it gets swept under the rug and they will continue to make the school & their athletes look like trash. A terrible look for the young ladies that have worked that hard to get this far.

Good luck to DB as well.  We're bringing a bus full of rowdy teenagers tonight.  I heard coach B was pretty upset with the atmosphere in the championship game and our students were loud and effective but clean.  Hopefully we'll both take care of business tonight

“Clean” is not what I overheard while nearby. The words and statements that were spewed out of their mouth were disgusting and classless. Nothing wrong with cheering for your team, however yelling “P/$$!” “B” and other profanities to the refs, parents nearby and players on the court is 100% unacceptable and should be controlled by the school officials and these “fans” should be left at the house!

  5. Hannah Miller, Junior from North Greene HS is a 6’ 1” Post. She is currently the only female in East Tennessee to average a double-double with 13.8 points & 11.3 rebounds. Miller is also 81% from the free throw line. Her ability to stretch the floor, lock down paint defense & IQ of the entire court puts her at the top of my list for 1A.

Slightly off-topic, but North Greene post Miller made the all-tournament team at the Ladies Classic. She's in good company and very deserving.

I have become a big fan of Miller. I would expect to see her at the top of the rankings. She plays both ends of the court & is a great example of composure on the court. She is easily the best post player in East Tennessee.

Landers 34 NG 22 final.  Defensive slugfest from the start.  We won the game by getting in transition at certain moments and NG ran out of gas

Defensively, the 2 best teams. I don’t think NG ran out of gas, rusty and shots wouldn’t fall. Clands shots fell in the 4th to pull off the win. Both teams have always given a good game to watch. The 2 kids that stood out tonight was NGs defensive powerhouse in the paint, 35, that girls got some moves on offense to go with it. Clands shooter, 4, she landed some 3s at good timing to give momentum to her whole team. NG had some hustlers on defense from 1 & 3 as well. The game could have honestly went either way if shots would have been falling on both ends.

I've been watching NG girls on grassroots and they are scary. They all play under control and are unfazed by dire situations.  Ella and mercy have little varsity experience but you can't tell.  That team is committed to their style and James puts them in the best game situations.  Miller and Bailey are better than last year especially Miller being able to shoot from outside.  They methodically took west greene apart last night.  We play them up here Friday night and I believe it will be our first real test since we played volunteer.  Yes, I think the huskies are a little better than Hampton.  We need that Mitchell game tomorrow night.  They are fast up top and have their own version of Miller.  We need to be ready or that winning streak will be in jeopardy

Friday night should definitely be a great game of basketball. I’m excited to see the competition between the 2 teams. Where will the game be streamed?

I got to see it in person. Really nice job by James

He is a class act and his team would run through brick walls for him. Miller was awarded All-Tournament team and as being the smallest school there, they made a mark. Bailey broke a record on rebounding, Miller broke a record on free throws and is the double-double queen in NE TN. Buchanan knows how to use each one of those girls attributes to grow them and win.

  10. NG will be just fine this year! Takes a minute to knock the rust off…The team has great chemistry and each one compliment the other. They are all coachable and improved every game, that is what is important! Winning is great and all, but improvement now is what this time is for. 4 of the starters have ran the court together for a few years and are doing great, I saw areas that they were all working at getting better! You have Sanders that is a play maker and lock down defense, Buchanans speed and shooting ability has been underrated, Gaby’s versatility to work the whole court is hard to find, Wagners slick, quick offense and Millers ability to shut the paint down and strength on the boards leaves this team with great potential! They are trusting their sophomore center, Miller to fill some big shoes, she looked strong all week playing both, JV and varsity. Trust is hard to build and they have that component. One thing is for sure, they know how to fight through adversity and that will make any team stronger!

I definitely didn’t think he coached with any energy and the team didn’t play with any energy. Not sure it would have mattered in the end but probably would have been a much better game. I will say I was very disappointed in the support from the community, only about 10-15 in the student section as there was no fan bus and not many NG fans there in general. I thought this team deserved better than that with all of the hard work they’ve put in over the years.

It would have been nice to see a larger crowd. I am aware of several that wanted to support them, however gas prices, room rates, work, prior engagements, etc. kept them from attending.
I noticed that many teams (girls and boys) had zero student section nor cheerleaders and some closed schools for it to pack the stands. Some won with no community support, some won with having the stands full. Unfortunately, you never know how any of that will influence their performance.

Nobody is paying attention to you because you are annoying

I’m not here for attention…Unlike you! You have no logical answers just as I thought. Just asked why you have such a strong opinion of him now, prior to February, your opinion wasn’t pointed in this direction. But, the truth speaks volumes…You have no reasons to list. My point is proven that you have no ground to stand on to call him a terrible coach.

I promise that man has a win percentage above .800, so to say he’s a “terrible coach” is like saying Michael Jordan is bad at basketball

@baldeagle22 I’m still waiting on your ten reasons he is a terrible coach! Seems as if he was such a terrible coach, you would have been able to list more than 10 in less than FIFTEEN HOURS!

I am a family friend to somebody who plays there right now. Apparently you don’t know the truth or you wouldn’t be saying what you are about his coaching right now.

10 reasons why you think he is a terrible coach?

  15. 10 hours ago, baldeagle22 said:

Well if a coach and or his wife has to get on here and see if he’s being talked about and then step in when he is I think that speaks for itself when it comes to his coaching. And I don’t have kids but if I did I’d be fine as long as they didn’t go there.

Oh, you think I am him or his wife? No, you are mistaken, I am neither! There are individuals that will put the truth out, I am one of them. The truth is…You are a bitter parent. Otherwise, you wouldn’t waste your time trying to bash a coach that has no effect on you or your family!
To say he is a terrible coach with no connection to that team would be absurd from someone that only observes from the bleachers or online.

Good thing they aren’t going to be that good this year. And are just going to continue to decline as the seasons go on. He should probably just retire soon.

Good thing? You must be a miserable person to say that about kids! I have only seen his players improve every season and throughout the season! To insinuate that he cannot develop is 100% inaccurate!
I hope you have no kids that play sports, you have to be making their coach/s miserable by your impeccable expertise at analyzing a Coach.

    Because Buchanan is terrible coach.

And to quote you baldeagle22.....On 3/18/2021 at 1:21 AM, baldeagle22 said:

Think it’s about time to add NG girls coach James Buchanan to the mix. He took a group of girls who weren’t nearly as talented and beat the #1 team this year. He is also approaching his 400th victory. And has 5 state tournament trips under his belt.

I agree eagle, I think coach Buchanan does a great job with the NG program. I think they have the talent and will put the work in this offseason to contend for the class A State Championship next season.

I said what I said! Things that make you go HMMMMMMM!
