Do the Devils have a chance? I think they can control tempo and control the clock offensively. I know nothing about Hardin County except they’re 10-0. I do know they rallied to beat Lexington tonight. Any info on Hardin is appreciated. I’m not looking forward to the 3 hour drive! However, WH is blessed to still be playing. They’ve played a tough schedule so hopefully it’ll pay off!

I'm excited for this matchup. Hardin comes into round 1 with their first undefeated season in school history but it seems like they lost some steam late in the season. I think WH's schedule has been a bit more tough than HC's so they might have a chance based on that alone. I think it'll be a dog fight and I am interested to see who comes out on top of this one.

    ROUND 1!!!

Region 5 #2 hosting region 6 #3. Marshall should be the favorite by the numbers , wins, rankings and all that jazz. I know nothing about JNSHS. Can some of you West TN gurus help me out???

    Opinions???

JNSHS has some good athletes and speed. They have the potential to hang around and out-athlete most of their opponents. They have a TN commit at WR but I can't remember his number. I think he's pretty good but they're not always great at getting the ball in his hands. If MC can force mistakes and keep the pressure on JNSHS they won't have any issue getting the win.

  3. This might be one of my favorite first-round matchups in 4A. Station Camp is in a strong region and have competed with some really good teams this season and finished the year on a 4 game win streak. South Gibson has also seemed to figure things out and have won 7 straight.  Both teams have been hit with the injury bug this year, so this game might be determined by who's the healthiest on Friday. I read where SC's QB has been hurt, will he be back for the playoffs? SG has a couple key players recovering from injuries as well, but I would be surprised if both teams don't have everyone suited up ready to go by game time. I think I'm leaning SC this week if they get their QB back and that entire region could be dangerous this playoffs.

Sure is quite around here. The previous years this thread would have 10 plus pages of content.

Based off what little I saw and what I’ve heard of SG against Peabody, they struggled after the first couple drives. Gonna be a lot of people there Thursday. Might be some nervous folks in the south end of the county.

Turf in general causes more injuries. It’s not forgiving at all. Ask most high school players and they will tell you they would rather play on natural grass

I’ve never been a fan of turfed pitches. Natural grass for the win. I hope Peabody doesn’t go to a turf pitch anytime soon.

Oh my bad, and no I don't have a kid on that team. I've seen the hornets from afar while watching the team I root for. Usually I get to watch in December.

The folks at USJ North don’t know anything about playing in December.

You should be speechless... A start up program that had 0 traditions, or history, or even a football field to play on, has won 91 games in the past 10 seasons while the " vaunted " Milan team with all of the traditions, history, dusty gold balls, has won 91 games in that same time frame. 0 wins separate the programs, just zero. HAHAHA!!!  I would be speechless too. Milan really has fallen from the graces. What a joke. Good try though.

Speaking of dusty championships, Milan is the Tennessee of Gibson County football. Meanwhile, SGC, the Kentucky of Gibson County football, seem to have decent teams from year to year but can't ever put it together.

Gonna be an interesting match for sure. Gonna find out if Milan is the real deal after playing against a 3rd string QB and a team that lost a close one 61-0. On the other hand, The Riverboat Gambler leading the hornets ( as the name that’s been floating ) should be a good test. Time to see how the game over in Medina is played.

The last time USJ North ran the spread they went 2-8. Do they know how to effectively run the spread? They should message Mike Leach. Milan should've held on to Diffee. He would take care of business, as he's known to do.

  9. I expect Peabody to handle business this week. Westview’s defense isn’t what it was last year and the loss of a 5 star QB is detrimental to most teams that can’t fill his shoes. I hear there’s some locker room issues too. Neal better get his toxic locker room under control before it spirals out of control.
