If it's not a rivalry, then why all the talk of Hackett seemingly putting more prep in for this week?

As far as some things never changing, actually they have. Gville had owned this rivalry for 30 years until H2O built the new school and went up in enrollment.

Regardless, it's a good gate for both teams, and it will be a good game. I believe Gville wins.

Yeah! THat makes sense! Hackett puts in more prep for a non-region game than any other game.

Of course, they’re Oneida all the way but some crews just whine and cry about poor officiating or how the other teams is blah blah blah. That’s very off putting to me. You are correct all HS crews will have a bias, they’re calling a game for a particular school. Check out the YouTube channel I linked and select an Oneida game. Some away games won’t allow us to stream but they still have the audio. We’re very fortunate to have the level of coverage we have for a small community. I brag on them every chance I get @OHSIH and crew do a fine job.

    Will do!

WBNT FM Oneida online at hive105.com. Same broadcast with streaming at IH sports network on YouTube. They cover Oneida and Scott county. The Oneida crew does a great job. They’re homer’s but not detractors from the opponents. They pull for Oneida but give credit where due and call it the way it’s happening.

Very rarely are you going to have a high school radio broadcast crew that isn’t biased, especially in small towns. But that’s what makes them so special.

Only thing I saw was him holding up the #one finger we he got to the twenty. When I re watched it on FB live. Rules state when I researched it’s a referee judgement call.

I saw the same. Hard to argue any judgement call because no two people are going to see a play the same way.

Yes and no. The penalty was called taunting before he crossed the goal line . In result 15 yard penalty once he started the taunting from the spot. Now if he taunted in the endzone after the play . It would have been enforced on the kickoff.

but was it really taunting… he didn’t look back, didn’t direct it at anyone. I understand that taunting was a point of emphasis this year for officials but that was picky. IMO

No they wouldn’t, Watertown doesn’t know how to call an offense lol. Watertown was exceptionally bigger upfront than ER last night too and ER won the line of scrimmage battle on both sides of the ball.

Lol you must be new around here

If we are judging on pure talent and speed aka (Jimmy and joes) then er should have beat h20 by 40, but heart and playing hard made up 40% of the difference . Hackett's defense plan was the other 60% . He took a much less talented h20 team and made them look equal.  Now the offense looked the same as it has all year , maybe Webster needs to try taking back the offensive play calling these last few game a to see if he can get somewhat of a spark before playoffs.

If these staffs switched teams, Watertown’s staff wins this game by 40

Might want to do a roster check over in ER after tonight.  Not sure they have been smashed in the mouth like H20 did tonight all year with the cupcake scheudle ER rolled out with.  Only hurt feelings H20 takes home with them tonight was not being able to get past the refs.  Man alive not sure I have ever seen such a game.  Im a transplant who hurts other H20 faithful feelings so dont take it personal.  ER has a good team, just not a really good team. Definitely on the right track.  IMO

careful, you’re making too much sense

Strange thing happened to me during the game for me. This whole thread disappeared from my phone. I've been on the T since 2006 & never had that happen. Weird.

same thing happened to me, i thought someone from TC deleted the thread

Wrong again bud. If our defensive staff had the same passion for stopping Upperman as you do defending them on a message board, we don't give up 48 points for all of middle tennessee to see. Appreciate the parenting tips! That's why I'm on a message board about high school football.

Hate to say it, but this ole boy is all out of purple powerade.

    Good, go somewhere else then

Big reason why there's a shortage:

$115 per Friday night game ...

3:30-5:30 .. Drive to game (you pay the gas)

5:30-7:00 .. Get dressed, pregame, talk to coaches, go thru all checklists for the game, check equipment

7:00-8:00 .. Kickoff and first half (get screamed and cursed at, run about a mile)

8:00-8:20 .. Halftime (rest, eat a bag of chips and a bottle of water if the school is nice enough to provide it)

8:20-9:30 .. 2nd half (get cursed and screamed at even worse, especially if the game is tight going down the stretch, run another mile)

9:30 -10:00 .. Leave the field with police as security, shower, change clothes, leave the school

10:00-10:15 .. Drive to the closest fast food joint because you're starving

10:15-10:45 .. wait in line and eventually scarf down a dry burger with fries

10:45-12:45 .. Drive home (you once again pay the gas)

Hopefully be in bed by 1:30 am ..

    3:30 - 12:30 is 9 hours ...

$115 for 9 hours equals $12.77 per hour

Oh yeah, take off $20 in gas ..

    $95 for 9 hours equals $10.50 per hour ..

(You've also spent $400 on equipment, officials pants, shirts, shoes, flags etc)

Any idea what a high school profits on a Friday night game ??? These officials are the guys you gotta have to make that money ... They do it because they love it .. not for the money ... While you are watching your kids play, they are away from their families .. Pay em .. they earn it .. and from what they have to go thru, they deserve it !!!!

You’re post is just about spot on. I will say that this year they have required mileage pay. Its not a ton, but an extra $20 or $30 helps. It is a step in the right direction. I don’t have any comment on fans, they are ruthless.

Truth hurts! And you’re right I am a former player. I started for Coach Robinson. That’s why I’m so passionate for Watertown football . I stand by what I said. This is a clown show. Coaches on staff are even divided on this.

Then you as much as anyone should understand what this program used be, and realize how far we’ve come. You’re the biggest clown on here.
