Here's the thing, they can talk old school football, line best on best and grind it out, but that aint gonna work at Blackman. For several reasons. The Dawg mentality has been missing since 2013-2014. Blackman isn't gonna line up and man handle rather opponents, and to Coach to that style is ridiculous. You have 100 kids that none of that matches their strengths, and  than re-examine philosophies or styles and try to match to your strengths, you try to force them into an identity they are not. It pains me to not be at every game as I have for the past 16 seasons, but I would rather not watch the demise of a program that really had potential that was sold out for a buddy buddy deal  and a couple back office conversations.

We all get it. Tygard is your guy. He has moved on. Let it go please. Everyone, including Tygard knew Blackman would struggle this season. QB is getting first time varsity reps. RB 1 is out for the season. Entire OL is juniors. No need to continuously sh** on the new staff. We all know that nobody gets on here, except coaches and a few fanatics. Your entire existence on here is going to the Cleveland posts cheerleading and making Blackman posts bashing.

If they moved as a family into a new zone, then they would be immediately eligible and the 20 mile rule would not apply from public to public.

    ‘moved’

every HS that wants to compete has a real estate guy.

There have been candidates from powerhouse programs from other states. that applied. Rankin expressed interest in the job 2 years ago, Defense has been on the decline for about 4 years now.... Ironically  about as long as Rockvale has been around. My boys played over at Rockvale middle school and the one thing about it , it was a bunch of hard nosed kids that would line up and hit you. Blackman does not and has not had that dawg mentality in a while. Last player I remember really having that edge was Connor Murphy. As a linebacker he was going to put a slobberknocker on you every play

Folks may or may not believe this but Tygard truly wanted to stay here. His wife has family in the area, It was a close drive for his Dad to be here,  And while I know what Kriesky's mid set is and how he is similar to Williams, Williams has one thing Blackman does not, Williams has pit bulls to make Dawgs out of. Blackmans demographics are just not the same as Oakland or Smyrna or Riverdale for that matter. THis is part of why I don't think this style is going to work at the moment

The amount of money and perks Cleveland threw at Tygard, he had to take it.

They tried to get Rosser, but his wife works at Harvard and he makes 150 a year in Boston coaching.

All i am saying, is give the guy a chance.

Congrats... I am 54 spent my youth in Texas playing and watching ball in west Texas.   No where did say I wouldn't give the guy a chance, What I said is I don't think he was the right hire. Tell me you would take him over your coach??Or tell me you believe he is a coach that is going to contend with or beat Creasy? If you are not making progress you are falling behind. I didn't see this as an upgrade and the only thing anyone has said is he brings stability.

NOBODY is going to compete with Creasy. He is the best coach and recruiter in TN, period. Until he retires or moves on, nobody will beat him. He may slip on a banana peel (CPA) now and then, but it will not be consistent. Matt Williams and Kriesky are a lot alike. Lunch box toting, hard hat wearing, fundamental coaches. When Matt Williams was hired, who in TN said ‘wow they hired Vince Lombardi!’ nobody.

Tygard is an amazing offensive mind, super exciting coach, he makes Friday nights fun. But if you look at his resume, he changes jobs every two years. Your defense was literally the worst in the state, literally. This is not a knock, these are facts. He came in, pumped some life into the program and left. This is what he has done everywhere.

IMHO your guys needed someone who is going to stay the course and bring you a good solid foundation and stability. The talent is there. It will be there every year. Imho you are in a great spot.

    Brother while I respect your head Coach and was once his neighbor, the one thing you don't have to do is worry about me rooting for your puppies. I have supported this team since their 2006 -2-8 season under Bobby Wells. I made the trip to Hoover and Both times to Maryville. before and during a time when my boys ever played for Blackman. I set through the comeback that Jennings led at Indy. I set through the mud bowl... and Bowling Green fiasco  Don't talk to me about loyal, when you will be off these boards when your kid moves on. I've seen the home bleachers a time or two at Smyrna look eerily similar to an Antioch home game ;

I am 57 years old and played at Smyrna. My kids are grown. I had been in Smyrna bleachers 20 years in 06 and was already balding. Now that we have wasted time competing résumé’s, who don’t you give the guy a chance

It’s not about coach Tygard, it about Kriesky. Couch or Woods would have been better options in my opinion. The funny thing is everybody talks about having a "great " coach like Creasy makes all the difference. I just don't think Kriesky is that guy maybe I am wrong. but No one on this thread will give a crap in 6 months from now if Blackman is lagging behind but me

Before you swap teams, please do not come to Smyrna. We don’t need pessimistic, unloyal fans down off exit 70

54-42 when you include his time at Forrest. Understand the concern, but I agree with you, he's who is needed at Blackman right now. Hopefully he can get the youth program, middle school, and high school in alignment. It might take a year or two, but If he can, watch out.

Top youth league in the state hands down. They have blown past Smyrna and everyone else unfortunately. We are all playing little old rec football and They travel to other states to play elite travel teams.

Top middle school program. Neck and neck with Oakland at the middle school level.

stability at the high school level and they will be a solid program every year.

How would you rate Centennial Kriesky to Riverdale Kriesky?

What are your thoughts on the job Riverdale Kriesky has done?

Did Green Hills ever play any RuCo schools with Couch as the HC?  What's his background?

Kriesky @ Riverdale has died at the hands of transfers IMHO. He has brought in some of the most toxic locker room kids and toxic parents as transfers. Do not want to name names as they are kids. But everyone in RUCO knows. Not just 1,2,3 but literally a dozen. The key players have been more worried about posting highlights on twitter and posting fake offers than winning or losing.

Centennial Kriesky has not done that.

Crouch played WR at Smyrna had a clutch catch in the state title game to win. Played at Cumberland. We think a lot of Crouch down here off exit 70.

To be very candid, I am not thrilled with the prospect of Kreisky as HC..... I think that is not trading up or moving fwd, but best case a step backwards. I truly hope they have better options to pick from or we truly will be the new Siegel or Murfreesboro

Blackman needs to be thinking 5-10-15 years in the future with this pick. This is their 5th HC in 12 years. Do you want to win the press conference or have a solid stable foundation for years to come? Kriesky would bring that stability.

I would argue that Kriesky Woods or Crouch will have a better record 2023 at Blackman than Tygard would have. Day 1- The defense is better. Day 1- no more onside kicks every time or never punting. Day 1- You will have a run game.

Tygard would be 5-5 without Brown, Marshall, Page, Risner. It would be worse than year 1.

I’m sorry it’s Crouch and Kriesky. The green hills guy. These names are running together

Nothing confirmed, but either smith or Kreisky. K is the “safe” pick because of his RuCo background. Plus he’s getting the backing of area coaches. But again, this is all hearsay. They need to get this right, because  Blackman can become the new Siegel of Football in this area. Also Siegel is quietly building something over there.

Respectfully ., Siegel is building a 5-5 season. This big dogs in the city pick them dry of any talent. The demographic and culture of Siegel is not the same as Oakland Riverdale or Blackman.

He's also the AD at Centennial, so it will be

It's close. The last sentence is definitely true with there not being an athletic period in Willco

In Ruco you can teach ‘PE’ and your class is literally football players assigned to weight lifting.
