Word on the street from a reliable source is that Blade is at the top of the list for admin. I've also heard Ligma is in contention as well and was called in for a second interview.

    Ligma lol

Call Ron Crawford get him back to Middle Tn.

Allegedly he was on the board, but changed his mind. The list going around is:

    Eddie Woods

    Chuck Gentry

    Josh Crouch

    Erik Davis

    Bryson Rosser

    Chris Smith

    Jay Pierce

    Pat Curran

    Matt Kriesky

    Jamal Stewart

    Steven Reece

Potentially others, and possibly some of these dropped out. Just rumors through coaching circles

So same as every other year. I think Woods is a good coach, but would be a bad fit at Blackman, IMO. If they are wanting to continue what Tygard started, Crouch is the best choice for them

I don’t know much about Eddie personally. I love Crouch as a former Dawg, I like Gentry at Lebanon, and Stewart at East Nashville

I should have clarified I was talking about from MS to Varsity, I'm not really in the know about youth football. I agree Creasy would win a title at just about anywhere in RuCo, or at least the ones he would apply to.

Since we're already way off topic anyways, how is Smyrna looking next season?

yessir i agree! Depending on what Cane Ridge does , their coach is in the running for the Blackman job, we should win the region or contend.

No doubt they've benefited from transfers. Way I see it, just karma correcting itself after losing so much talent to the Nashville privates over the years. That said, you can't run the ball if you can't block and most of Oakland's linemen have been homegrown, as well as their defense. Not sure Collins transferring made a great difference, Sparks never quite felt like a good fit for either side. Blows my mind that Hewitt wasn't even getting snaps at Riverdale at QB for the most part. Antonio Patterson was a homegrown, could argue that Oakland didn't even need Jordan James to win state in 2020 ( maybe 2021 as well)

In the last 5 years, Blackman has had more talent transfer in than Oakland, but has had their struggles. Talent gets you to the playoffs, but your gonna get exposed if that's all you rely on.  The results of Oakland's feeder programs speak for themselves. In a perfect world, everybody plays all 4 years at the school they started at, but that's not always gonna be the case, especially when your in a popular place to live like Rutherford and Williamson are

not knocking what coach creasey is doing at all. Just stating the facts. Any school in Ruco , he would succeed. Because he is a heck of a coach and he brings in players.

i have been on the board at smyrna youth and been there over 25 years. Oakland youth has only been around 7-8 years. they have been in 4 different leagues. the first director stole all the $. the new group are great guys, but the new director sent his own son transferring to riverdale. They are 1/4 the size of Blackman and 1/2 the size of smyrna. That program is dysfunctional in general and coach has to go after kids from other programs. He gets them in 6th 7th grade.

Blackman talent was cut in half due to Rockvale I don’t think creasy would be cooking

Rockvale got the entire south side of 96, which is all of the apartments. So much talent went to Rockvale.

However, Creasey has got Jordan James, Isaiah Horton, Joseph Anderson, Jordan Brown, Kade Hewitt, Tt Hill, Qb And CB from Indiana and KY, the Nashville christian RB, virtually his best players are through the transfer portal. The only stud the have who came through their youth program is his son, and Hill, but even he started at Blackman youth. Creasey could win a state at any RUCO school.

The guy is a heck of a coach, but your need ‘jimmy’s and joe’s more then x’s and o’s’

It's interesting to think about. For a long time, Blackman was where you went if you were a great tailback. They had some great ones. Tygard, Hartsfield and Watson are good HC's, they're just not at Creasy's level IMO, which is made even more difficult when he had a great DC like Stephen Jackson.

It usually takes a program 3-4 yrs to get it's feet back under solid ground when a new school opens in their area. There was a time where I thought Siegel opening would be the death of Oakland football. Probably won't be fun for Riverdale if they ever build a Christiana HS

    Agree 100%

False.   TSSAA "punished" Oakland for Jordan James only.  Someone in administration made a comment on twitter that they wished he would come play for Oakland and that was the rule breakage.  I think Oakland may have been denied after practice snacks for the "violation".  Which given the crime seems about right.

    CORRECT

Oakland High's football team has been placed on a two-year probation and fined by the TSSAA for what the organization said was a violation of its recruiting rule.

The TSSAA said Oakland violated Article II, Section 17 (Recruiting Rule) of the TSSAA Bylaws concerning a former Brentwood Academy transfer who is now enrolled at the school and working out with the Patriot football team.

I get it that you got upset when Creasy's team beat the team you follow, but don't be that guy that blames in on recruiting. Allow me to give you an example.  Coach Inman (MTSU girls basketball coach) won multiple state titles at Shelbyville, and all the coaches he beat used the same excuse.  Want to win, hire you a coach that is half as good as Creasy.

true or false.. TSSAA punished Oakland for violations in the transfers of metro residents Jordan James and Isaiah Horton?

If it was some podunk middle school with 300-400 students,  think your argument would be valid.  But Blackman Middle has nearly 2,000 kids.  I daresay his job is the equivalent of a 1a or 2a high school program.  He is well known to be very football smart so he might be "too mean" but I don't think anyone should dismiss him as "just a middle school coach"

I agree, BMS or OMS is equal to a 2-3A HS. The problem he may have is there are 5 5-6A head coaches also in the running. Guys with 5-10 years experience and winning records. It would be tough to elevate him over those guys. Imho

Dude, you need to educate yourself.  No principal approves rezoning.  I am not in the education business but I know that much.

principal? educate yourself sir. He was the director of Ruco schools

But you know they claim it’s all normal

it’s not normal to have a kid do a photo shoot in your uniform and make a big post on twitter claiming he is transferring a week before his senior season starts. all before his transfer request is even turned in. (joseph anderson.) probably one of the most disrespectful things i’ve ever seen in 47 years watching hs sports

I know he did but the effects are lasting. He set creasy up and the nepotism was evident.

crazy How many times has Blackman and Riverdale had their zones messed with sending all the apartments (talent) to Rockvale etc.. but big Spurs school could bring in metro residents and get a week of spring practice off and the metro residents can stay lol

I remember last time we played Blackman the student section got in trouble that Monday for booing their own band and Screaming for us lol. The next year our kids didn’t take the field

Pearl Cohn band? The metro bands are amazing.

Deflection is easier than admitting you have no argument

Both schools have great athletics top to bottom. The county itself has great athletics. Competition makes everyone strive to be better. He is a Blkman guy, so his perception is a little biased. As is yours. One could argue Cecil Joyce is biased as well. at the end of the day blackman has the better parking lot and physical school building by a landslide lol

That makes sense. I heard pretty much the same with the caveat that those who were a good fit after Spring might be asked to be freshman coaches in the future. I Just assumed that applied to Knox and Taylor.  Both are quality coaches. Could've helped Blackman in the trenches these past two years.

Two really good coaches. Their impact would have been felt more at BHS i agree

Well wait till you see this year's weight lifting schedule. The very thing that Justus and Tygard worked out  to have weightlifting period 1 is going to be swapped up so that it is every other day...... Half the reps... half the strength...every other day will be an instruction lead class ....

Is the weight lifting period longer now though? To be honest the school only able to do the bare minimum. These kids need to have trainers away from school. Weights, speed agility, and position.

The school will do that basic ‘bigger faster stronger’ percentage workout. Then the kids go to dead period, or don’t show up to summer workouts and it’s pointless. It’s on the kid as much as the coaches to put in work
