Way to attack kids and a coach that you know nothing about.  Do you think coaches tell their players to lose their cool and make mistakes?  Did you blame the Eldridge when Murvil and WB had a brawl in basketball? https://www.thedailytimes.com/news/police-investigating-brawl-at-maryville-william-blount-game/article_68397a67-324e-577a-ad3b-59aead9fc9ea.html

The closer I look at it the more I'm sure. They're still the best team in Region 2 and Region 1 is pretty weak. They've already beat Science Hill easily, DB is an 8-1 team that plays like a 1-8 team, and Jeff. co is average at best.

    Thats not enough

Hated to see him go down last night, he’s a special talent for sure.

Also didn’t mean to gloss over the LaDue injury either. It looked like he was just cramping up on the sideline, that’s what the broadcast announcers were speculating anyway.

You cant run a back 15 times in a row (the same play) and expect him to remain healthy. Something significant has changed over the last little while , oakland must have punked out the  staff .

Pull up a Blount County Map and look at the Maryville City Limits around William Blount. If anything happens, it will be the Maryville City Annexing  William Blount high School, a County School. Mainly, to address the over crowding at Maryville High School. Maryville City School Buses pickup Students within a 1/4 mile from WB.

Last two years, Alcoa went from 655 to 682 students. Maryville.....1625 to 1775 increase.

Still "never going over 701" ???

I'd agree this is often true.  But what you aren't taking into account, is that the last state championship y'all won was four years ago.  This current record is a reflection of that.  Maryville isn't a program on the up.  I agree that a consistent program recruits for itself through reputation.  You'll see such programs have steady increases and sustained performance without much fanfair.  Other programs intentionally recruit (More against the rules like) and you'll see those programs make gains quickly and with much fanfare.  Maryville isn't either of those.  You mention 7th and 8th grade, but who's to say those kids won't go to a different program based on this years record?  I don't think it bodes well...

Then you don't understand the Maryville Mentality.

How would you like to be us?4 Championship appearances in 5 years last in 19,and they hire a Guy with a horrible coaching record and hardly ANY experience to lead one of the best 1A programs the last 37 years?I feel your pain believe me!I dont know what these people think with.We are a bottom feeder now.We are just playing to make the playoffs now and that in all reality will be very hard as last year.I know I pick at you all but I do feel bad for you.

Hey fellas, I have been a long-distance Maryville fan for several years.    Always see a game or 2 each year but distance prevents me being in the thick of things the way you locals are.     So here is one Trailblazer who is pulling for you guys to get through this low point.       I saw how you completely dismantled Science Hill up here a couple of weeks ago and I know that Maryville has the pieces, just have to reset the chess board and get it all aligned again.    There are a lot of pieces of the high school football pie.... Coaching, players, team chemistry, fans, parents, community support, student body support, etc.     I can't think that Maryville has had so much success over so many decades for it to all be circling the drain now.     Wishing you guys the best and maybe will see you in a playoff game in a few weeks.

    Thank you Sir
