My guess is, this has absolutely nothing to do with athletics. I could be completely wrong. Just going to let this play out over the next few days/weeks before throwing accusations around. Funny how when OR benefits from “transfers” it is because of the incredible school system and never for athletics because most people can’t afford the “tuition”! Going to be interesting to say the least.
And if AC is turning anybody in, shame on them. They have benefited and work the system more than most over the years.

Your numbers are exaggerated and the changes are completely out of context.
Get a grip.
Just curious as to your feelings on the 20-30 grown men standing between the 25’s on Bearden sidelines?

Reado and the Smiths had ties, and yes, Reado is gone.
Lane only took a couple of guys with him, one of them being the coach who led the feeder program and another for a promotion to a coordinator position.
No mass exodus of coaches.
Hard to determine a “mass exodus” when there are 20-30 grown men standing on the sideline.

I personally think the East will be represented by Oak Ridge, Powell, or SC this coming season.Oak Ridge leads the way and if Powell can replace some OL, they have a legit shot. I don’t see anyone defeating Page next season but stranger things have happened.

Any truth to the recently hired VFL OL coach already calling it quits?

Be interesting to see the dynamic between Smith and Reado. Smith seems to have won the last battle of OL coaches at Bearden.
With the news announced on 5 star, I suppose they got it worked out!

He definitely had an advantage in talent over West both years that they played 2022, which was just a straight embarrassment. Nobody was expecting Paige to lose by that much or even lose to Knox West, but they did, and you can only point fingers so far either way. However, look at it: the two losses from this season from independence and Knoxville West shouldn’t have happened and only happened because of terrible time management and play calls at the end of the game, which has been a common thing. Verizon, tire coaching career at page I'm not doubting he is a great coach and has built something special over at page, but he just needs to complete the journey with a gold ball, which he hasn’t done so far, even though looking at his past teams.
I take it back! This is the worst take in the history of this board! If you really believe that Page had more talent than West 2 years ago, that says a lot about your abilities. I doubt you will ever be hired as a talent scout. Might need to stay at a few more Holiday Inn Expresses Eli! What a ridiculous statement. It was a running clock for goodness sake!

Paige head football coach Charles Rathbone is going into his 10th season, and if he doesn’t win state this year, I think it’s got to be his last. He’s had some very good teams, but especially this past season completely sold this year with terrible play calling and time management all year. They had all the capability in the world to win a championship this last season, and they do again this year, especially with a linebacker duo like Anes and Hazzard. I would give him this year, but if he doesn’t win a championship, or at least even make it to the championship game, it’s got to be his last;, there’s no more excuses for him.
This quite possibly is the worst take in the history of this board.

Hung a 50 burger on Central.
Did Pemberton and Rhea hang a 50 burger on anybody last year? They certainly did not hang one on Central.

In the playoffs - Ran up against Knox West’s Ronnie Cottrell who signed with Georgia Tech. Tough back. Also lost to Sevier Co.’s Deuce Wallace that signed with Vandy. And Jordyn Potts (Tenn Tech) and Walter Nolan (A&M -Ole Miss) were at Knox Powell when we lost to them. They also had a Div. 1 WR. - one thing I will add is Coach Pemberton will not back down from scheduling any team. Just give him time.
And he ran into a really tough Central squad last year.

If I were looking for a head coach, I'd be trying to get the best coaches off the Alcoa and West staffs. I'm a bit surprised we haven't seen more of that.
Not sure anyone at Alcoa would want to leave that Gold mine. Maryville is currently full of former HC’s. I’m sure some of them might get the itch again but Maryville might pay too much to leave. Knox County is not attractive at all when it comes to paying coaches. I’m shocked there have not been more leave the county for better pay. Not sure of guys on West staff. Maybe the DC. He seems to have had some success. Is that him or Brown though? When does Courtney’s son get a shot? You gotta think Lambert at AC might get the itch. No idea about anyone else on that staff. Does OR have any guys on staff that are ready? Interesting topic for sure.

I’m fully aware every school receives transfers, of course, but you have to admit, though, some schools receive quite a bit more than others. Lot more loopholes to jump through when coming to OR than most Knoxville and other area schools. Nobody is pointing fingers, was simply asking a question.
It wasn’t very hard for a couple to roll in and play a couple of years ago. I don’t think it is hard as you like to always make it seem to be at OR. Get the right kid or kids and it seems to happen.

Rhea Eagles did not get mercy ruled by Central Bobcats in 2023. It did not happen. I guarantee it. Do you want to bet me? The only teams that mercy ruled Rhea Eagles are Walker Mustangs and Cleveland Raiders. Campbell Cougars will be better this season than Rhea Eagles. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
Mercy ruled? No, but again, they lost to Central!

I can believe it, they are just a stones throw apart. Football is small town serious down there. But I would imagine that T$$AA has bigger fish to fry if they are going to do anything to anybody.
Aren’t they up there from you?

Campbell Cougars will be a good team now. Campbell Cougars were not running the right offense for the type of players Campbell Cougars have. Coach Pemberton will get to where Campbell Cougars do not get mercy ruled as much. I guarantee it. It will happen. Watch and see. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.
Rhea lost to Central last year. Central!

Good hire for the Cougars… not sure Pemberton will fit in up that way but the guy can coach.
-
Congrats to Cummings… guy deserves to be coaching after the ridiculousness of his previous job.

Mike loves Oak Ridge, always has and always will. I talked to him at halftime during a playoff game, I knew then Jeff wasn't gonna keep at it at HVA. He nor Mike had a clue about how Knox County is nothing but recruiting, they assumed it was high school football. Rude awakening.
I suppose that is something that OR hasn’t done or doesn’t do.

I totally agree but just don’t want to see people jumping the gun by insinuating it was for athletic reasons. Nobody knows at the moment except for those involved in the incident itself and those investigating.
