New coach at Lawrence County also. Very good coach. There are at least 6 teams that could win this region.
just depends on what team is on.
Lawrence County has a legit D1 player
Tullahoma will be tough…
After what I witnessed at Warren County versus Tullahoma they won’t be tough unless they change. Coaching issues, players not responding, internal problems i and it showed at Warren County getting beat by 30 points.
Upperman will win region everyone else will be playing for second. Page, White County, Lawrence County, Cumberland County and Livingston. District 8 will be lucky if two teams are playing second day of region.

Not a fan of ether, but Cumberland Co looked really good to me.
I haven’t seen Cumberland County this season but they are always tough. They will be competing In That district it sounds like.

New TN Report Rankings dropped today:
1. Blackman 11. McKenzie
2. Bradley Central 12. MTCS
3. Webb 13, Cookeville
4. Bartlett 14. Oakland
5. Coffee Co 15. South Gibson
6. Cleveland 16. White County
7. Jackson South Side 17. York Institute
8. Westview 18. Clarksville
9. Upperman 19. Greeneville
10. Ensworth 20. Trinity Christian
I think the top 4 could be put in any order. I haven't seen Coffee or Cleveland. Cookeville and South Gibson probably ranked too high.
Webb would definitely be my 1 team. Upperman should be ranked higher and Cookeville should not be ranked and definitely not ahead of White County. Cleveland and Coffee County would be a toss up but Blackman and Coffee play tonight should be a good game.

Lawrence County will be in the mix for sure. Swept Lincoln last year and upset in District tournament championship by Lincoln in a close game. Return top scorers
Page should be right there with one of the best coaches if not the best in the state. Looking at Tullahoma and their roster they return everyone but one, made a lot about an ex college coach, but they they are 1-3? I’m with you though, I like Lincoln County and Lawrence County has looked amazing!

Let’s get this back on track for girls basketball.
What does everyone see in AAA midstate districts? District 7? District 8? Both seem to have state championship hopefuls and championship coaches at Upperman, Page, Lincoln County, and White County. Where do you see teams finishing in these two districts?

Sounds like ScottyP is salty about your comments MiddleTnBballObserver! Coffee has a really good team this year. Time will tell if they can keep it together until tournament time. I believe they scrimmaged at Bradley in the preseason and Bradley won by around 10. I believe this region will come down to Cleveland, Bradley, Coffee, and Warren. Each team has tough matchups for the others.
I think he/she is salty but it happens for fans who can’t see the truth. Coffee has some concerns for me: they don’t handle full court pressure well or a high paced game, if the post players get in foul trouble they are toast, and the freshmen guard and sophomore guard are very talented but are not very tough like the senior point guard. But yes, they are talented and like everyone they have their flaws just don’t tell ScottyP.
Warren County is tough to figure out. Get beat by 20+ one game then turnaround and play Tullahoma and win by 30+ and Dekalb by 20+. I understand we are comparing apples and oranges with York and Tullahoma/Dekalb in terms of teams and coaching but that is two ends of the spectrum. Warren Co plays White Co this week so that will be a fun game to go to. -

No way Cookeville is even in the conversation as a top 20 team.
I thought the same but hadn’t seen them since the summer. Glad to know I wasn’t going crazy

A few good ones but reloaded.

Bearden has been impressive the two games I watched.

Greeneville. Lower classification.
Hamilton Heights. Lower classification.
Chattanooga-Baylor. Lower classification.
Riverdale is a 4A program. Not A or AA.
Tullahoma is a 3A program in the same county as CC. You expect Coffee County to not play the only school in same county as them just because they don't invest in basketball like they do football?
You must've went to a very privileged high school that has a crap ton of money to help buy success. Or in the very least your support is invested in such a school.
I will help you. The statement was Riverdale, East Nashville, Polk County, Moore County, East Hickman and Tullahoma who all are average or below average teams or they are good teams but play A or AA ball.
all are average or below average teams OR they are good teams but play A or AA ball. Meaning Tullahoma is an average AAA team at best and Coffee County will likely prove that two times this season. Riverdale is a bad AAAA team but it is an easy schedule for Coffee County same as Tullahoma.
Hope this helps, moving on. -

That's good to know. So does making it to region by default actually make you any good? Let's talk about all the 4A D1 schools suburban Chattanooga Bradley Central has played to this point since your arrogant #### brought it up. You said Coffee County hasn't played anyone, but by the same token, neither has Bradley--all D2 or Independent private schools or lower class D1 schools outside of always struggling Warren County. You just don't want to see Coffee County do well because they can't buy their success from the wealth of a very rich county or suburban metro.
I did not say Shelbyville was good just wanted to point out they go to region tournament by default being in a four team district as does Coffee County, Warren County, and Franklin County. Playing those teams will not help Coffee County get better.
You obviously are upset about this Coffee County staff being called to the carpet. I do not think, other than you, anyone cares if Coffee County or Bradley does well. The people, like myself, are merely making a statement based off facts from the past that Coffee County generally plays a weak schedule and it has not helped them to get out of second round of region. Bradley can do what they wish in terms of scheduling, they have the proof in their state tournament runs that whatever they have been doing obviously has been working. Good luck to your Coffee County team as they have a tough Blackman team coming up. Over the next month Blackman will be their toughest opponent who they play twice. Lincoln County will also be a competitive, lower classification team they play. Riverdale, East Nashville, Polk County, Moore County, East Hickman and Tullahoma who all are average or below average teams or they are good teams but play A or AA ball. I hope Coffee County does well and goes to the state tournament. I think seeing JPC in the glass house would be a riot and just as good as any game. Good luck!

I believe Lawrence County could be a very good team by tournament time. I was impressed with them and their size.

McMinn co. played pretty well against Greeneville yesterday but looked awful against Coffee Co. today. McMinn could not stop CC inside game - and then McMinn would kick to the 3 point line and hit a bunch.
Bradley Central has all the pieces to have a great season. Greeneville competed well for 3 quarters but could not sustain it. Kimora Fields - a freshman for BC - is a beast and will only get better.
I keep hearing Fields is the real deal. She will be an all-time Bradley great it sounds like.

That's nice. Except now Shelbyville doesn't make it out of the district anymore while they hardly play anyone in November. The Gazette covers Community School, Webb School, & Cascade more than Shelbyville because when you do play, you're losing.
Wrong. Shelbyville plays in a four team district and all four of those teams make it to region.

Yes, and lower classification does not determine worth. You think just because a large public school with a bunch of government pigs throwing money at them defines worth?
I have no idea what you are talking about, but next time I will bring my tinfoil cap to the conversation.
I believe bigger classification top ranked schools will beat lower classification schools 7 out of 10 times. If single A top team plays AAAA top team then yes the AAAA will win. You got me there

Avenged last season's state tournament loss to McMinn County defeating the Cherokees 82-29 at Bradley Central's holiday classic.
Region loss. Home region game they got beat in last year. JPC went as a spectator last few years since being at Coffee.

Since when does classification determine worth? I know of several lower classified private schools in Division II that would destroy Bradley Central today.
Bradley is very very good. Young but they will be there at the end of the season.

Does not mean much McMinn Co is not very good and last year had way more riding on it. Take care of business this year and make it out of a region. Good luck, I like your group they play tough.

Ok. They are big and physical and the sisters are not fast by any means but if you say they are not slow we will go with that. Good win tonight, good luck tomorrow.

York plays Bradley tomorrow? I thought they played Coffee County. Anyway it’s a good field of teams, Bradley, Coffee & Greeneville all should be really good and have a chance to make the dance and in 2A McMinn Central and York are probably two of the top teams in the east this should be some really good games.
Meant should find out tomorrow AT Bradley versus Coffee County. York might give them a game for a half or if they can speed the game up and take the big slow post players out of it.

Webb plays Bartlett at 7;00 on Dec. 10th at USJ in Jackson
That will be a good game. Has Cookeville played anyone outside of Blackman who beat them by 20+? I didn’t even recognize they were in top 20 and had no idea why?

Saw them play last week - pressure be their undoing but get in half court good as anybody
Big with shooters but young at some key positions that might hurt them down the stretch. I say they make it to second round region again then done.
Way too early AAA 22-23 top teams prediction

I would say Upperman is the champ until someone beats them. SS could be that someone!
