Well unfortunately you can be very good and not get out this group.    The winner of this group will need some things to roll there way and they will have to play 3-4 GREAT games in a row.  Luck always helps too.   But one bad shooting night or one bad group of officials and a very good team is going home early.  And all that has to happen JUST to get to the glass house!

Very well put! The old timers always say the best team in the state never wins it.

Not sure about Gallatin but if you think the coach at Cookeville is less of a coach than the Lebanon staff then you havent watched them much.  That team is disciplined and plays under control.  They know their role and execute it.  You dont look at that team and see a bunch of true athletes but you do see hard workers that are coachable and work very well together.  I give alot of credit to Cookeville's coaching staff for that.

The Cookeville girls are hands down the best team in the region. They have done well for sure, but let's not confuse our opinions for results. No one would be shocked to see Lebanon make a run and no one would be shocked to see Cookeville lose to Beech, Gallatin, or Hendersonville.

  3. Coach Dodgen is a proven winner. He was a winner at Cannon County and now at White. The Cannon girls and their coach are now a laughingstock. Barking at the refs is part of the game. Be careful what you wish for. Any school would hire Coach Dodgen immediately. Two losses to Cookeville, one to York, and a good Alabama team. York and Cookeville should both compete for a state championship. What more could you possibly want? Be careful what you wish for.
