I haven’t been able to find a Morgan County Schools zoning map anywhere online. Got a link to one? I was under the impression Morgan county, like most counties especially rural ones, were open zoned.
Like I said using the rules put in place and pretending like it’s not getting a leg up is ridiculous. It’s like starting a hand of poker with pocket aces especially at lower levels. The worst part is these Programs get treated like they can do no wrong and do everything the right way . Well sometimes you got to stand up and call a spade a spade. We are creating a generation of FRONT RUNNERS ! It’s too easy to go to the established schools than stay where you live and help rebuild. It’s the easy way out .

Good comment! The success of a program does the recruiting. Kids will go were they think they can win. OZ has been improving and just needs to build off this success and kids will want to go there. It's that way at every level and that why the same programs are good year in year out. There is people out there that will say or do what they can to bring a program down. Look what happened at Greenback for example, I have a feeling there is a balduglyduck in some pond in Loudon County that caused all that mess.
This is not college the success of the program blah blah blah shouldn’t have anything to do with where kids go . You go to school where you are zoned to go to school the rest is BS most of the time. Put out by front runners…. People want to know why schools have a hard time turning around this is exactly the reason why. Sadly they hide behind rules that the county put in place. Anyone with any common sense knows It’s not right.

Hate to play Devils Advocate here but again if this was such a slam dunk hire with all of those credentials listed this would be a done deal already. Because they know what the position is and have known for a few weeks. If Coaches that chase "Titles" have only ever been in good situations with good HC's , good Coordinators , community and admin support , and PLAYERS land at a place like Sunbright they don't last but a year or 2 and then they're "called" somewhere else where those things are available .... They normally don't handle adversity well because they haven't seen much of it seen it happen too many times. Also kinda sounds like something put out there to make the next HC's job even tougher than it already will be.

The text I got says he put he stated that if he gets it barring they don't just get rid of him...that win lose or draw his plan is to stay there until retirement.
Oh I see he's currently on staff.

He was an assistant for championships, the Head Freshman Coach and Varsity assistant at Oak Ridge and he is currently a defensive coordinator she said.
Gotcha sounds like a pretty easy decision ... Unless theirs a darkhorse in the mix.

Apparently he really wants it but I'm sure someone had a short list and it almost always starts with the buddy system in small areas.
You also have to remember what capacity were these rings won ? Coordinator , assistant , assistant to the assistant etc ... With all the turnover at HC in the area and 3 rings in the mix kinda makes a man wonder . With all that being said this is why little schools like this never really change.

Apparently he was told that the teaching spot they would want him is isn't vacant as of yet but is supposed to be. He coached at Fulton I'm told and I think Anderson County? I could be wrong about Anderson County. But he has 16 years experience as an assistant and the 3 championships was at Fulton I would have to guess.
If this were true and I'm not saying it's not why the dog and pony show ? Seems like a slam dunk unless it's not.... You can make the announcement the public doesn't need to know the teaching position.

Surely something will happen before spring ball …

Nothing. Only thing I know is they have interviewed only a handful of coaches and one of them was a current coach/teacher apparently at the school already. I was told he has almost no experience coaching though but I can't confirm that. Another I was told was from somewhere else and he has many years experience but I don't know anything about him other than that.
Hearing anything ? Surely this will go outside the building the only problem is a teaching spot. Those boys need to know they matter someone needs named soon....

Truth
You can believe what you want the truth hurts but it doesn’t mean that it’s not the truth. I’m not fishing for anything I live it and see it I’m just not going to mention any kids names. Spoken like a true front runner deflect deflect it’s happening period . The “Right Way “.
