  1. Somethings have been overlooked in this conversation. Crockett lost their best player before the season started and then had 2 more seniors quit just after the Christmas tournament. They're playing with 4 injured juniors and 5 sophomores of which only 2 players have varsity experience from last year. Needless to say they're just trying to get through the season without anymore injuries or major upheavals. This team was whipped in the first quarter of the game and everybody there knew it especially the SH coaches. I think Crockett's trying to build a program with their coaching changes in the last couple of years but their biggest problem is losing players to other schools. Some of Daniel Boone's players should be a Crockett right now because they live in that district. They've also lost players to Chucky Doak and some transferred to Kingsport. The problem is when a program is rebuilding few people want their kids to be part of that program, so the losing trend keeps on going. And the biggest program killer of them all...........letting a team score 100 points on you in a conference game. I could almost guarantee if there were some middle school players coming into High School next year on the fence about whether to go to Boone or Crockett that game just sealed it for them. Crokett does have some talent coming up from their freshman and j.v. teams if this doesn't kill it. Their j.v. squad actually finished 2nd in the conference this year at least in the regular season which included wins over all the sullivan county schools, dobyns-bennet, and yes even Science Hill. And if you ever wonder how far S.H. will go to get a win or just look good, after losing to Crockett and Boone during the season they pulled down 3 juniors from their Varsity to play in the J.V. tournament at the end of the year. No other team in the Big 8 did that. S.H. was in a full court press in that game when they were up 72 points, their starters were in through the end of the third quarter, the clock did not......always run continously in the second have......I was there.....I saw it stopped during time outs. S.H.'s team, coaches and fans wanted to score 100 that night, they talked about it, knew they could do it and did it. I don't think they ever considered the affect it would have on the other team or the conference and I dont think they care.

Its not their job to make the other team feel good. Stop them!!

  2. I know him there pal - knew him when he was at Page, and he was same way. So there, it is funny, now mind your own business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a big man to talk on the computer, were you man enough to tell him this to his face? If not shut your mouth

  3. Since, as we all know, the Lady Ads are most likely to sweep through district and region, they are not likely to have to play in Johnson City. But even if they did, it is not clear that Science Hill would win. Tennessee High almost beat the Lady Toppers a few days ago--and the Lady Ads are better than that. The Lady Ads are on a mission. There will be no mercy.

THE LADY ADS ALWAYS WIN WITH CLASS--AND LOOK GREAT DOING IT!

LOL JUST DONT COME TO JOHNSON CITY OR YOU CAN PACK THE UNIFORMS AGAIN- WOULD BE 3RD STRAIGHT YEAR. I WOULD SAY TN. HIGH WOULD BE EVEN ODDS ON WINNING DOWN THERE. YOU HAVE NO ONE TO MATCH UP WITH MITCHELL.
  4. U2bballnow has it right. The team to the east is just 1 player offensively and their point falls apart when pressured! And as Furybballdad says, the Lady Ads are loaded with senior leaders. They are not going to fall behind again-especially since the Lady Ads won't have to overcome the homer refs who gave that game away with phony fouls! We are now set up to sweep district in style.

However, after having seen everyone in district play at least once this year, Furybballdad is too early saying the race for second place behind our Lady Ads is over. Four other teams in district (Heritage, Blount, LC, and Maryville) are primed to knock off the eastern pretenders in season and in tournament. All four have more better, faster athletes, who can play with more hustle for a whole game. They are all more balanced and not one dimensional. It is just a matter of who wants it most. The next two months are going to be very interesting, and a lot of fun, especially for Lady Admiral fans!

The Lady Admirals Always Win With Class--And Look Great While Doing It!

Well u better hope u dont have to come to Johnson City again
  5. The student numbers for science hill includes the 7th and 8th graders. Starting next year they will be seperate again. The Lady Toppers have 20 ladies who play in the varsity and jv teams. Had 6 or 7 freshman who were only on the freshman team. So overall about 26 or 27 in the high school program and no seniors. Had 12 on the 8th grade team.

  6. What's everyones thoughts on the semi-finals?

Lady Toppers. Vs Lady Eagles - Toppers by 18

Lady Canes. Vs. Lady Vikings - Canes by 11.

Well I was pretty close last nite. What is everyones thoughts on the championship game?

  7. I agree with ya pancon. Tn High can win no doubt , but ut has to be a team effort. Can not turn into a one player show. I thought that hurt them in the district championship. I would love for the Hilltoppers and Vikings to win.

  8. I know SH will be more talented, but I think this game is close until 4th quarter and Seymours lack of depth is what catches up to them in the end, unfortunately : ( SH by 12.

This is the second time they have played this year. 1st game was a 35 point win for the Lady Toppers.

  9. But still may have some who are playing their last game...obviously they have had several who didn't make it to their senior year. Quite a shame that not a single girl who started as a freshman 4 years ago , is still on the team.

I doubt that any are playing last game. Have 6 juniors 5 sophs and 1 freshman. As far as no seniors this year that's where the younger classes are more talented and worked harder

  10. Granddad, I agree with the post. However I do think the two districts will split tonight. I think East and Seymour will win along with SH and Tenn. High. All the teams have good seniors and great leaders. Hope all the games are good and no one else is hurt. Good Luck.

Well all the teams but Science Hill has seniors. They have no seniors

  11. I hate to be disagreeable, but in my opinion, (1) Science Hill will beat Sevier by as many as they want to. Sevier is without their 2 best players. (2) First game of the year for Morristown West was TN HIgh, and they lost by 1 point. West is still without their starting point guard, but I think this game is a toss up. (3) East should beat Daniel Boone, but I dont think it will be by 18. Leading scorer for East is out and the last few games they have played have been pretty close. (4) I dont know much about Sullivan South, but I have seen Seymour a lot. I believe Seymour wins by 10- 15. Doesnt really matter though, their next game will be against Science Hill.

Good luck to all the teams. Science Hill should take the region and all the games will be good. My biggest wish is for Mo' West and Mo' East to meet in the second round.

I was being nice on the Lady Topper score. West missing their pg could cause problems with Th, Highs press, also Viking hall isnt the easiest place to come in and shoot the ball. East should win by double figures. I have seen both the Lady Rebels and Lady Eagles play and I think the Rebels may pull the upset.

  12. Wow it sure is quite.

1- Sevier Co. at Science Hill - Lady Toppers by 22

2- Morristown West at Tn. High - Lady Vikings by 13

3- Daniel Boone at Morristown East - Lady Canes by 18

4- South at Seymour - Lady Rebels by 2
