  1. Franklin lost to CBHS 10-9 in overtime i think. I watched the game and franklin obviously was the better team. They were running CBHS the whole game and then franklin slipped during the 4th and just played bad lacrosse. With the help of a referee the game went to overtime. The ref called a penalty with 2 seconds left and the ref said there was really 5 seconds left. CBHS took that 5 seconds for the gaming tying goal. Then took the game with a trash goal in overtime. Props to CBHS though, they are very good team. I believe franklin would have done better in the play offs.

I agree that the majority of the game was absolutely dominated by Franklin but I disagree that Franklin is the better team. With all of the things that CBHS has had to deal with injury wise, there is no way that you could say that Franklin is the better team. Play that game at the beginning of the year and CBHS wins by almost 10. Yes, Franklin played better the majority of that game but the collapsed at the end and CBHS found a way to battle back from a 7 goal deficit in the 4th. Also, the penalty that actually did occur with 3 seconds left was actually a penalty as the Franklin played cross-checked #30 from CBHS into the ground. Yes, the penalty actually did occur and it was with 3 seconds left. The shot in overtime was not trash in any way as the CBHS player was standing 12 yards from the cage for a time and room shot and he buried in the back of the net with poise. This is a team who recently lost their best offensive player and who played without 2 of their starting long poles. Nolan Vihlen absolutely killed Franklin at the face off position as he lost only one and that was an illegal procedure. Say all you want but I do think that CBHS is by far the better team. I will say one thing about Franklin and that is that John Ellis played an outstanding game and was the major reason that Franklin was able to pull away the way they did throughout and 1st through 3rd quarters. The guy needs more back up as it is simply too hard to play a game by yourself and he ran out of gas in the 4th quarter which proved to be the downfall for Franklin. Good game to the entire Franklin team but I still stand by my remark that CBHS is the better team, hands down.

  2. CBHS 15-6 over Webb Bell Buckle

Webb led 2-0 early in first quarter but CBHS went ahead shortly after that and never looked back.

Leading Stats: Franklin-3 goals, 4 assists

    Chianella-3 goals, 1 assists

    Schifani-3 goals

    O'Leary-2 goals

    Cassidy-2 goals

    Fitzhugh-1 goal

    Hebert- 1 goal

Vihlen-19 for 21 on faceoffs with only losses coming off of illegal procedures

The ref of that game was absolutely horrible, calling everything no matter how hard a hit was. A simple wrap check that got all stick was called a slash and one hand on someones back while they were running was a push in the back. Just horrible.

  3. I think that CBHS has one of the best defenses in the state. #5 Drew McClelland has gained an unbelievable amount of muscle and has gotten even faster than last year's blazing speed. #22 Matt Haaga, probably the strongest guy on the team, has really stepped up and increased his footwork and should be a surprise to any team being as he was out with injury for the beginning of the year and Zach Byrum #9 is a quick defender with great stick skills along with the rest of the defense and will be a key player in the clearing game. All in all i think CBHS has one of the best if not the best defense in the state.

  4. to go along with not enough talk about division II lets hear some about upcoming players on jv who will step up make a difference in the next couple of years

  5. I don't think I kicked anybody, but everyone has their dirty little tricks.  When I am on top of somebody, yeah I lean into them, that's porbably what you saw, and yeah, I am guilty of that completely.  Everyone does those little things, like when crease attackmen jab me in the ribs with the butt end of their stick when I am covering them. That kind of thing happens.  I was not out to play cheap, in fact I didn't have a single penalty during the first half of play.  I did lose it and run over two picks, which was dirty and uncalled for, and for that I apologize.  I lost my head, no excuse.

yeah one of those "picks" was me. but hey man its cool everyone gets upset but only the random few no how to control it.

  6. I think that this game is going to be more of a battle for CBHS. the first game CBHS had a advantage of coming out prepared where as MUS came out cocky. I think that both teams have gotten better in many ways. from what i've heard MUS has gotten away from the whole pass the ball to Dan Gibson and let him score thing. On the other hand CBHS has gotten some of their players who were'nt big time players to step up. With the loss of Ben Jenkins, the attack line of Tony Heard # 1 and William Franklin # 14 had to start over with the coming of another attackmen. Miles Carter # 7 has stepped up and changed from his 2nd middie line position to starting attack. He used to be an attackmen and from what ive heard he hasnt shown any weak spots in any of his first games at attack. we'll have to see what kind of game these two teams put together this time...hopefully one like the last with a exciting game followed by a CBHS win.

  7. I think that CBHS has atleast one d-pole maybe 2 that have a chance to get all state. Sam Stringfellow number 4 is one of the quickest defenders out there and plays very good body position. In the MUS game he limited Dan Gibson to 1 goal. The other d-pole I think may have a chance is Phil Schaeffer number 19. He's the strongest d-pole i no of. The only thing I think he needs help on is his speed. Other than that he's good to go.
