  1. wrong. he was a GOOD player on a GREAT team. you need to get a life bc you've obviously done your research on him. nobody said the baseball team NEEDS his respect, but until he gets it .. no, hes not going to support them. hes just going to go to games bc his girlfriend likes baseball and he aims to please.

i agree about the shorts though .. his butt is always hanging out with those shorts around his knees.

He's a pretender. You can do better.

  2. Hm. There are a few players who play that I appreciate watching them play, while others I could care less about seeing them on or off the field. A few of them have earned my respect but for the most part, they havent nor have the most of you so why would I support anything I dont respect?

Who needs your respect D2D? You were a mediocre player on a good team. Your glory days are over. Pull your shorts up. Get a life.

  3. No - it is NOT a bad tie breaker rule. It is the CORRECT tie breaker rule - it makes every game count.

In baseball, run differential should be the last resort of any tie-breaker because in baseball, there are tried and true traditions, including not trying to run the score up...

i.e. not taking the extra base up twelve - not stealing second up nine, etc....

But in baseball, you DO want every game to matter. Baseball, at the high school, college or pro level, is about the 'grind' - the day to day, game to game, ability of a team to win 1/3, lose 1/3 and decide who is the best by how they do the other 1/3....

Bluetooth, from reading some of your post, you must not be a real 'baseball man'.... :)

An understanding of the game is one thing and your knowledge of the tie breaker rules is another. I know the game Mr. Limbaugh. I played in college and I have coached multiple state championship teams at various age levels. Feel free to give me examples (other than our tie breaker disagreement) of my posts that prove otherwise.

Back to the subject. We are talking about two teams that have identical records. I just don't think it should be decided by their performance against a team that finished below them. One of these teams lost to the last place team in the district. That does not figure into the tie breaker but how they did against #6 does.

I support the run differential in this situation (to seperate two teams after their district record and head to head record does not produce a winner). You use the run differential in the Warrior Classic and then you tell us it is not a good idea.

I think we can agree to disagree. Let's move on...............

  4. ABSOLUTELY WRONG!

Someone above this says it well. This is BASEBALL. It only matters if you win or lose - not by how many you win or lose by.

    DEFINITELY WRONG.

I do not need to be reminded on what sport we are talking about. They are tied because they have the same record. That is why you need a tie breaker. Why bring Lebanon into it? Because they finished 6th? C'mon David, it is a bad tie breaker rule. Admit it.

  5. Huh?

Oakland, Siegel and Warren Co all finished 7-7

So, the first tie-breaker is head-to-head

Oakland - swept by both Siegel and Warren Co (0-4)

Siegel - swept Oakland and split with Warren Co (3-1)

Warren Co - swept Oakland and split with Siegel (3-1)

    So Oakland finished 5th

Next Tie-breaker - how they did from top seed down

    Riverdale - swept them both

    Blackman - they both split

    Oakland - they both swept

Lebanon - Warren Co split with them but Siegel was swept by the Blue Devils

    So....

Warren Co 3 and Siegel 4

It should not matter how Warren Co and Siegel did against a team that finished below them. Bad tie breaker rule. It should come down to run differential between the two teams during their two games against each other.

  6. yea your right thats why Warren Co. had a 1 nothin led off a Jordan Underhill home run

It is very unlikely that one run would have won this game. If you as good as you think you are you will just have to wait one more day for the win.

  7. who will birdie and finish second and host the district tournament?

    Monday's games:

Blackman (6-6) at White Co (2-10)

    Cookeville (5-7) at Riverdale (12-0)

    Oakland (6-6) at Lebanon (5-7)

Warren Co (6-6) at Siegel (6-6)

Tuesday's games are same just at other teams' site:

    By-Law Tie-Breakers:

    1) Best District Winning Percentage

    2) Head-To-Head

    3) Record against rest of district, highest to lowest seed

    4) Head to Head run differential (between all teams tied)

    5) Run differential against rest of the district

    6) Coin Flip

Any predictions or what-ifs out there???

Please give an example of number three. Also, if three teams are tied it should come down to their record against each other before anything else.

  8. One thing i thought was bush is when someone hits a line drive in the other teams dugout the fans go crazy after the ball gets in there.... they didnt start screaming when the ball came off the bat it was after it came screaming in pretty bush league...

and a funny one.... when a pitcher picks to first and the one player on the team yells DID HE GET EM??!!! and everyone else goes NO!!!!!! and the other one goes just checking

I have heard your Riverdale cheerleading team use the second one in the dugout. They definitely get the team award for bush league antics.

  9. i agree that if warren co. gets the win, colby will be the one saying "siegel who?" but siegel has produced almost double the amount of runs warren county has in district play this season. warren county can't produce, and siegel's favorite pitching is killian's style. he'll have to carry his team on his back.

Siegel has not faced anyone with Killian's velocity. There is a big difference in an 85 mph fastball and a 90 mph fastball. Siegel will have to have good discipline at the plate and make him throw a lot of pitches.

  10. Well Riverdale does have double that they are outscoring their opponents 112-27 in district play. And are outscoring all their opponents 279-123. Thats an average of scoring 8.45 runs a game and giving up 3.72 a game.

Let's keep things in perspective. 69 of those runs came against 2 teams. And don't forget , you did not face Killian. Your offense will have to carry you through the tournament because your pitching will not.

  11. its called ignore....you can tell the idiots on here from the ppl who actually know true tennis.

Someone has to be the voice of reason on here and it is not you Hoolie, or Cutter or whatever you call yourself this year.

Why don't you replace that basketball picture of your boyfriend and put a picture of a tennis player on there?

  12. hah I think I remember you getting on here about this time last year and belittling everyone on here in the same way....also I think we all know the rankings are extremely skewed, especially state rankings, in favor of those who play every weekend as opposed to those who don't play USTA as frequently. Unless you think Bo Seal is the 59th best player in 18's? Or Zach Zola is the #9 player in 18's? or that Ian Chadwell is #23 in 16's

You put too much value in rankings...you always have...things happen and people can't play....they get injured and have to take long periods of time off there are other reasons, play other sports, ...does that mean they shouldn't post in here?

I agree that the change in the ranking system a few years ago was not a good one. It rewards the players that play in a lot of tournaments. I just get tired of seeing these average players talk about how good they are or how good their friends are when most of them will put their racquets away in a couple of weeks.

Most of these guys were not ranked in the old system either. I stand by my statement about qualifying for Southerns. If you have not qualified you don't need to talk any smack. You do not need a lot of points to qualify. You just have to win a few matches in the state qualifying. So....after you guys qualify in June let me know.
