I head the Powell baseball coach is done after this season to switch over and coach the softball team?? Any info on this?

Say Hey! Willie Mays Hayes here again! That is unbelievable. I seen AC along with Webb, West and Seymour this weekend. Seymour was the best from what I gathered of the 4. The other three looked very average.

Looks all pretty even to me? Hard to tell though when pitchers are coming in about every two innings??

Tanner is also getting D1 looks in baseball as well since he went down to the TBCA showcase and was hitting 87mph on the scoreboard. being left handed thats a big deal. He dominated the two innings he pitched down their against some of the best players in the state.

I know this is a hard thing to chew on for parents, but sometimes its not the coach. Looking at Lenoir City the last couple of years the talent level has not been so high. Its easy to coach when you have your pick of D1 pitchers to throw out on the mound that day or when you are wondering how high your shortstop could possibly get drafted? Most successful high school coaches in any sport would be quick to tell you its not about the X's and O's but the Jimmie's and Joe's.

Did you here him saying " Ahh its ok we lost because we won our division and went undefeated" Don't worry people will not forget you, cause you will always be that clinton team who was so good but got sent back to the house by the Mavericks! Even if we get beat Friday night we still destroyed your so called well accomplished season. Go Mavs!!!

i was at that AC PF game last season and i could deff. tell that there minds were not on the game. and i don't blame them i mean Coach Chesney was a great person, coach, player, and friend.. i had the privilage of playing with Jeremy at AC and being coached by Coach Guinn all my life since i was 7.. as a fan watching them last year i couldn't even focus on watching the game because of what happend the prior week.. it was horrible and a gut wrenching felling.. i couldn't even imagine how the players felt.. i gained alot of respect for those boys for playing that game the way they did.. it wasn't there best performance but i still had respect for them.. i don't no of one team that after losing a coach and a friend could go out and beat a great team like AC..

 

i no the AC kids were feeling some of the same feelings but it took a tole of PF and it showed.. but this year is a new year and i see PF beating AC if they meet in the sectionals..

Some AC Alum you are going against your team...thats ok everyone said they would be AC last year to...

SACFLY, I took your suggestion and did look again at Grainger Schedule. While they do play Gibbs(2), and Seymour(2), Morristown West and TN High. Gibbs and Seymour are young and getting better, best in that district, but neither seems to be what they were last year. MoWest is obviously down, and TN High is solid, especially with Cribbs on the mound which Grainger didn't see. Graingers schedule is OK, not good, just OK. My point is that they may not be battle-tested when it comes to the end against PF, Unicoi, Gibbs, Seymour, Anderson Co., and Catholic, all are possible teams they may play in the post season. I guess it depends on what they are playing for, regular season record, or post season run.

Should be a good game tonight!! Both teams should be excited. High School baseball doesn't get much better then this. According to who is pitching determines the score. IF its Price vs Irwin then its a 2 to 1 game winner could go either way.. No matter what I see both games being a 1 run game.. Good luck to both!!

Good game for both teams. Stone as expected as improved alot. tonights game should be a good one also. AC hit the ball well. Stone just made the routine plays as did AC. Price played a huge part with 13 K's and only allowing 2 hits. Over all it was a good game for both teams saying it was opening day. I would hate to play either team later in the year.

Anderson County opens up with Stone on March 9th in crossville... What are your predictions???

I think we will see a good game tonight between the 2. Stone is led with good coaching and improves a ton from year to year and even throughout the season. Stone is due to start upseting teams in this district. Tonight might be the 1st if AC does not bring there A game... Good luck to both.

The ac powell game was a fluke..... everyone knows that a.c. is amazing and loses a lot of preseason games but always seems to be the top dog at the end of the year. they are as good as ever and will prove it very soon

I don't think Scott will win any district games b/c they are in one of the toughest around.. But I am glad to hear they have a new coach and wish them the best. Scott has good athletes up there just need to get them to come out and play baseball...
