  1. If you were there for the MUS BGA game then you would've seen that the score did not show the level of play by both teams. I'm going to give CBHS the go ahead since i'v played against both BGA and CBHS. BGA might have the scores to think they are better, but the play of CBHS, in my opinion, is still higher than BGA's,

The MUS BGA game was closer than the score would indicate. Both teams had possession and opportunities, but BGA found ways to score and created better opportunities. Both of these teams are full of highly skilled, quality players, and it will be a great game to watch.

  2. Hendersonville will win this one. Rico isn't that good. Man marking him will make him a non-factor and its not even necessary. my club team has played against him numerous times, and if you body him up and get a hit everytime he ets the ball he gets frustrated.... a little jersey tug here, or a slight nudge there and he will be done is 15 minutes. Takes very little time to completely throw him off his game.

  3. the first half was very even, and CBHS scored on a Pk. It was a questionable call because the foul was accidental. Their legs got tangled up. It was also on the very edge of the box. I think it was outside. It was a good game and Father Ryan came out and dominated the second half. The second goal was an own goal. Unlucky for Ryan. Very well played game by both teams. Congrats to Christain Brothers.

  4. This is the point I was trying to make with my post. I also agree with the others in fouling a diver. If they want to be put on the ground, then grant their wish. Maybe we should go back to the way it was 20 years ago, when it took a lot more than a shove to get a foul called. Then players wouldn't dive because it would do no good.

    I agree.

  5. You've sure changed your tune since the JP2-Ryan game.

You don't make sense. I have hardly said anything since the game, much less anything that contradicts a previous statement. The game was 1-1. Both teams had chances.

  6. A ref is not expected to make every perfect split-second decision, but many refs do not make the right calls in obvious situations. Last week, after a player on the other team was granted numerous free kicks when he was barely being touched and obviously diving, I approached the referee ( AS A CAPTAIN) and informed him about this. He said to me, "YEAH I KNOW." How are players ever going to learn to play honorable soccer when the refs are letting them get away with it.

That is a disgrace to the soccer community. I am simply appalled at this thought.

  7. BGA has a lot of very skilled players.. but they aren't the best "team".. there team is very similar to the one last year, and when it came time for state they had great skill, but they didn't have the team game... this year they are much improved and seem to be playing better team game... from what i can tell, MBA has the best "team" right now... JPII is solid, as is USN, but if the other teams are playing their best soccer, BGA, RYAN, and MBA are the top three. The next couple of weeks will answer questions about the middle with BGA playing most division games and Ryan playing MBA and BGA...

  8. That's wierd cause Brentwood beat Grissom at there first pre-season game.

Father Ryan did not play very well on the weekend. Friday night they came from behind to win in PK's after two OT's. The Friday night game was delayed because of tornadoes, and the other games were cut short, with the teams only playing 60 minutes. Ryan didn't play consistant Saturday. They had spurts, but they were worn out from late games, long games, plus the hot sun. None of these count as excuses, but that is part of the reason for the lopsided scores. On a different day, the scores mat have been the same, but they probably would have been a lot closer.
