    Bolivar

Bolivar played Oxford (MS) in the Hotbed Classic in New Albany, MS. Bolivar fell to the Chargers by a score of 62-60. Bolivar was led in scoring by Brian Lake with 18. The biggest game in the classic by far was Starkvile and McComb. Starkville is led by Travis Outlaw, one of the nation's top players and McComb is led by 6'11" Jackie Butler. The game was played before an overflow crowd. I was told that both player are going to Mississippi State. Neither player disappointed. Starkville was leading by 2 with .5 seconds remaining when I left. Bolivar was the only team from Tennessee competing and played a really good game.
  2. Brian Carter from Middleton in A. He always scores big. His team plays numerous AA and AAA teams.
  3. Bolivar wins the rematch 65-48. Borner led the Cougars in scoring and Brian Lake had 21 for Bolivar followed by Willie Kemp with 16 and Ryan Wiley with 12.
  4. Bolivar wins 75-55 in a packed house. Southside fell behind early 24-10 after one quarter and could never recover. Bolivar had four players in double figures. Lake 16, Wiley 16, Walker 14, and W. Kemp had 12 with 8 assists. The game at Southside will be much closer.
  5. These two teams meet in Bolivar on Tuesday (1/7/03). Southside has been playing very good ball this year. Bolivar played two close games in Dyer County, which hopefully will get them prepared for the Hawks. The Tigers defeated the Hawks four times last year. It should be a packed house as usual when theses two teams play. Bolivar plays at Covington Saturday and I hope they will not be looking ahead.
  6. I think he had about 18 points to finish the night. He had a pretty good game. I am looking forward to see how he does against a good Maplewood squad.
  7. Bolivar defeated the Indians tonight by a score of 88-67. Ryan Wiley led the Tigers with 27 points and Freshman Willie Kemp had 17 points and many assists. The Delk twins had an off night. Northside is one of the quickest teams that I have seen in the early season.
  8. Bolivar plays Melrose(Memphis) Friday night at 7:00 and Maplewood(Nashville) Saturday night at 7:00. The is according to the Bolivar radio station.
  9. I think Oak Hill was more caught up in the hype than SVSM. LeBron is a great passer. I agree, I would love to see more high school games on T.V. SVSM has a game coming up with Mater Dei and I would love to see that one. Oak Hill did not display any type of inside game they shot 3's all night.
  10. I was impressed with LeBron. Now I would like to see the game they have with Mater Dei on T.V. also. I was even more impressed with his passing ability. My only problem with the game is that the commentators talked too much during play.
  11. Round one goes to Bolivar and Willie Kemp 78-53. Kemp finished the night with 18 points and Bonner had 4. The third quarter was the difference of the game as Bolivar went on a big run and blew the game open.

    Middleton

Middleton is located in Hardeman Co. about 16 miles from Bolivar and they should have a pretty good team this year.
