The Germantown 16u will have open tryouts Saturday August 9th and Sunday August 10th. All positions are open as we are an age specific team and are replacing 8 team members off our 2014 squad that all received and accepted D1 offers.   If you want to play at the top level, then you need to play for a team where players with those same aspirations play. D1 College coaches want to see how you perform against players who also want to play D1.

GERMANTOWN RED DEVILS SOFTBALL SKILLS CLINIC FOR AGES 9-12

WHEN: SATURDAY AUGUST 4TH, 10:00AM-1:00PM

WHERE: FIRST TENNESSEE FIELDS, 7800 Fischer Steel Road, Cordova TN.

COST: $15 per person

For girls playing 10U or 12U competitive softball next spring, the Skills Clinic will be conducted by former Germantown Red Devil players, Brittany Ashford and Jordan McElroy. The Germantown Red Devils organization has been an integral part of the softball community in the tri-state area since 1979. An important part of our rich history is our connection to former players that went on to play collegiate softball and have an interest in sharing their experiences with the younger players. Brittany Ashford played collegiate softball at Jackson State Community College and Crichton College. She is currently coaching at Covington High School, and provides softball training and instruction in Covington TN at the Fultz Baseball and Softball Academy. Jordan McElroy, another Red Devil, just finished her collegiate softball career at Miami University of Ohio and is returning home to Marion AR where she continues to provide instruction to a number of softball players in the area.

Note: The Red Devils Skills Clinic is NOT a tryout. The tryout date for the 10U/12U age groups will be the following weekend, Saturday August 11^th. The time and location will be announced shortly. For those players interested in learning more about our organization, the Skills Clinic would be a great introduction to the Red Devils organization, an opportunity to meet former players along with the 10U/12U coaches, and work on their softball skills.

The GMDT will be held May 26-28(Saturday-Monday)at Houston Levee Park in Germantown Tennessee. All games are seven innings or 1:45 time limit with a seven game guarantee weather permitting. Please make sure that you are at the field 30 minutes before your scheduled age group tryouts. The coaches would like to get all players registered before the tryout start time. We have had an immense response to tryouts and need everyone there early to keep all on time.

By the way, Escape's daughter IS a Worth girl!

Worth also got an invite, but for reasons beyond their control weren't able to play in a lot of tournaments planned earlier. For obvious reasons, TN Xplosion should've rec'd one also...or, heck, maybe even before Worth or Fury. But, as my boy WL always says, 'it is what it is!' So true, brotha ( ).

TN Xplosion has a great team and I agree that they should have been invited to the ESPN Rise Premier.
