  1. any-1 find it strange how all the sudden that username is unregistered now that u asked 2p what it was on here. busted. he is 1 guilty dude. bet he clanks his dr id next.

My Goodness, Dim, you're too smart for us naughty people. With such intelligence as that why didn't you aspire to something loftier than just a Detective of the Yard?

  2. To olandpats, why don't you dispute any of what I said? And I don't think taxpayers are fitting this bill (even though government interference runs rampant in our economy today which would absolutely make Adam Smith spin in his grave, but John Maynard Keynes is jumping for joy ever since he advised FDR in the programs of the New Deal and its affects on distancing the economy away from a laissez-faire system, but even it wasn't a laissez faire economy before that, I mean no system truly is 100% one way or the other I suppose, but blah, blah, blah.................ad infinitum...........................)

How may times to I have to do this? Zone exemptions have benefitted both sides throughout the years. In previous posts I have listed the names of a few excellent players who were zoned Riverdale and played for Oakland and some of those included transfers. Zone exemptions have historically worked both ways - doesn't have anything to do with who the superintendent was or which school he supported.

On to the opening of Blackman - Hulon Watson wanted that school filled and was going to make all potential 11th, 10th and 9th graders zoned for Blackman to go there. However, at the board meeting in a packed room heated with emotional parents, the BOARD members (who are elected officials proportionally representing ALL parts of the county) relented and allowed potential 11th graders to remain at their present schools if they wanted. Hulon was extremely upset and disappointed at the Board's decision.

For all your golds and silvers in other sports, congratulations! However, this is a football thread. If I were a Riverdale fan discussing golf, baseball, or girls basketball, my statements would not be quite as vociferous as some of yours on here tend to be.

Public-Private split - I agree that competition has been watered down, but if it has, hasn't Oakland competed within the same framework? And about 55 other teams in AAAAA? Since 1997, Riverdale's record has been 117-11 with three golds and three silvers. Who else in AAAAA can say that? They have also been 10-2 vs. Oakland. Watered down - without a doubt. If Maryville wants to start an interesting discussion, they definitely have leverage as does MBA and several others. But Oakland? Not much to stand on compared to the aforementioned records.

Siegel's opening - Siegel opened in 2003. Why were Oakland's numbers (of football players) not up to par with Riverdale's before Siegel opened? I mean, you can argue Riverdale has more students to recr, I mean, choose from but the difference was negligible before 2003.

James Howse winning Mr. Football - didn't happen. The first Mr. Football award was given in 1985.

But what do I know - obviously nothing about movie actors and which bombers they flew in WWII!

  4. who is my team?

I don't know who your team is, but you're throwing around innuendos and winks about Riverdale recruiting without any evidence or foundation of fact and with a total, irrational, lack of reason in the process. So, I'm throwing it right back at you - your team recruits.

Oh yea Cookeville Basketball team will probably be rooting against their own football team. Becuase i know the basketball team respects Scott on the hardwood. And if i am correct i think Riverdale plays Cookeville in bball Fri. Dec, 2nd.....the day before the state championship game. Therefor Riverdale wont have Scott, Kit, or Tyler. For those of those basketball fans tomorrow night look for #2 Kit Hartsfiled (fullback, linebacker and starting PG) #3 Scott Thomas (qb, safety, and 2 guard in bball and one of the best players in the district) and #8 Tyler Lusk (TE and DE, and will be one of the best players off the bench this season).....So tomorrow night dont be suprised if you see some Cookeville players secretly pulling for Riverdale becuase i know they would love to have Hennigan, Stearman, and Wolf back.

    Fuggly63:

This is the dumbest post on the entire CoachT web site.

    Ditto.

  6. Big, Big, BIG Road games for Riverdale's seniors since 2003:

2003 Quarterfinals vs. Lincoln Co. who was ranked #1

2003 Semi-Finals vs. Oak Ridge who should have been ranked #1

    2004 No Contest

2005 Regular Season vs. Wilson Central - stadium filled at 5:00

Great Environments All! I'm sure the Warriors are anticipating this week's road game.

  7. well from what i heard rankin called coach joslin all week b4 the WC game and was telling him how good WC was and there was no way we could beat them, well we did and now its your turn and i hope you really think you are too good to be beat...

Do you really believe that? If you believe that then tell me, where is D.B.Cooper? Or Amelia Earhart? Who was that in the grassy knoll? I heard something too - Elvis was spotted at 4:00 a.m Sunday morning at Ralph's Donuts.

  8. olandpats, why are you even bothering to post here? It's November - basketball season at Oakland. And dude, you really do need to learn to type complete words and sentences or I'm going to stop reading your posts!

Is #31 back for Cookeville from last year? I thought he was a fine back. And what of their two LB's from last season? Did they graduate?

  9. 2priceless, could you quote your source for this one:

"BTW ask any senior at RIVERDALE if Rankin helps them get scholarsips...they will give you an EMPHATIC NO!! he had a Meeting with them telling them he didn't have time to talk to recruiters and it wasn't his job to help them get scholarships. So do you consider him a good coach with his 4 state champ rings?"

A thread regarding one of your favorite coaches, and you have to turn it around and bash Rankin.

    *SIGH*

  10. National polls have their place as far as bringing national recognition to a high school and its football team, but other than that they mean ZILCH. Byrnes would hammer Riverdale as I'm sure Riverdale might hammer some other team in the poll. But what does that matter? It makes for fun discussions, but all Byrnes really has to do is win South Carolina's state championship and all Riverdale needs to do is win Tennessee's 5A state title.

  11. WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, YES WE DO, WE'VE GOT SPIRIT, HOW 'BOUT YOU!?!?

Siegel, congratulations on the three points. Surrendering three points may not be a big deal for the proletariat, but I guess scoring three against Riverdale is considered by most to be a Herculean task. Translation: Siegel, you done good.

However, let's open for further harangue the "Poor Siegel vs. All the Talent in the World Riverdale". The past two seasons this argument had merit, but this is Siegel's third season.

    1) Should a Rutherford County football program be legitimately competitive in its third season?

    2) Where is David Alsup's magic wand?

    3) Watson bemoaned his athletic shortcomings in both papers today. So does this mean Siegel does not have athletes in basketball?

    4) Who shot J.R.?

    5) If your players are not as strong, not as fast, and not talented football players while Chris Harris takes the Siegel Nation to the finals in two years, could it be your fault?

Just a few points to ponder.
