  1. I understand where you're coming from. 8A is probably as good if not better than 7A this year. A lot of the teams in that region(the top teams) match up pretty well this year. There isn't really one outstanding team. Clarkrange will probably be on top when the region tournament rolls around though. Gordonsville has had several big wins already, but not over anybody that was very good. And Westmoreland is always pretty good, so if you put them with Celina and Clarkrange the region tournament is shaping up to be exciting!

Gordonsville has beaten every team in 7a already this year (except Clarkrange, who they haven't played) including Clay County twice.

  2. Gordonsville was up 88-8 and still shooting 3 pointers.  Why not just walk across half court and hold the ball.  The score was 56-2 at half.  All Gordonsville players wanted was to score 100.  Thought the coach should have played in different, but it will come back around sometime to get him

All Gordonsville did was work their offense. If you're wide open and noone bothers to play defense on you, you should take the shot. Coach Agee only has two freshmen on the team and he started rotating them in in the first quarter. The Gordonsville girls did exactly what they were supposed to do. They worked on their offensive plays and on their defense for 32 minutes.

What do you think would have been more embarrassing to the BC girls? Having a team play hard against you or for a team to pity you and quit playing so you wouldn't look too bad?

  3. PLEASE.. not even close! From what I remember G-ville played a 5 guard set last year and haven't gained any post players this year. You guys have to press the entire game. Dribbling out the clock would have been nice... don't run it up... this ain't THE BCS!!!

Gordonsville goes eight deep every game. Ashley Fields is playing post and has shown more improvement than anyone on the team. Amanda Maggart is coming off the bench to play post and has done a good job. Between the two of them, Gordonsville is getting between 16 and 20 PPG and good defense and rebounding.

They didn't run up the score. Everyone played adequate minutes and only took the shots that were given. Never had the press on.

Speak only of what you know.

  4. With several quality wins including a nail biter over Unaka how can you say they don't belong? We'll find out though. Good luck Lady Dogs and do good so you can shut this guy up.

They got beat bad by Gordonsville in their own gym in a game that wasn't close. They may improve as the season continues, but right now they are not a top ten team.

  5. What I like about this team is on any given night some one will stepup and have a big game and the defence is beginning to gel and they have the speed at the guard positions to play it. Watch out for the DAWGS by district time. thumb

Their lack of speed was exposed last week by Gordonsville when they beat CC by 18. CC was never really in the game at their gym and they weren't able to handle Gordonsville's pressure.

  6. PC's fans should not be overly optimistic this year from the way they looked yesterday. They scrimmaged Macon Co and Gordonsville @ Gordonsville and were beaten handily in both games. Gordonsville was up 43-16 at the end of three quarters before the freshmen from Gordonsville were put in.

  7. I think you missed the point I was trying to make. I don't care if Smith County charges. That's their business. If I don't want to pay, then I won't watch them play. If I want to watch them play, then I will pay. Simple as that.

As for the TC comment, lighten up. It was meant as a little dig at him. Nothing serious.

  8. After much thought on this subject, I have come to a conclusion: I DON'T GIVE A RAT'S BUTT! I won't give SC a dollar unless they are hosting G-ville. If their fans want to pay to watch their kids play, then so be it. WHO CARES?

The only question I have is this: Does TC get paid double for being SC's SID and an umpire at their ballgames? It sure seems like he calls an awful lot of SC's games. (I usually get a glance at the field on the way to the Little League field. I'm not really watching the ball game.)
