    I understand that money is a problem in all our area schools, but leaving Boyd the other night we drove by Brainerd High, who also doesn't have lights on their baseball field, and noticed all the tennis courts were lighted and I have never been to a high school football field that didn't have lights. If money is that big an issue let's play the football games at 2:00 on Saturday afternoons. It just seems like the baseball teams are always on the short end of the budget stick. I'm not saying anything bad about Boyd, because Central is the same way, but it just seems that baseball is never as prestigous as basketball OR football.

    AMEN you are totally right, football gets whatever they wont whenever they wont, baseball has to work their butts off just to get the money for baseballs etc.... I graduated from Polk County, and I go to every athletic event they have besides softball. But for example, Bill Triplett and the boys had to beg and plead for the field and luckily the football coach hit a lexus and go some money from Tobby McKenzie, but then the football, look at the facility they have. A multi-million dollar facility. Then we go to the baseball field, yeah its going to be nice but if baseball will ever get the money they deserve, their field will be AWESOME

    Boyd wins because fundamental plays beat Polk

    Awesome game to watch, I was there but then left and went to scout.

    But the final ended up 5-7. I heard Polk finally started hitting the ball in the 7th inning and made it a game.

    If Polk starts hitting the ball like they are capable of hitting it, it could get interesting because Polk is young and has the ability to dominate the district

    I look for Meigs to end the season as the #1 and Boyd #2 followed by Polk and Central but i'm looking for Polk and Meigs to meet in the tourney championship

    ahh, i miss playing baseball with the d5aa, i moved up to ohio over the summer, used ot play to tellico, great teams to play were meigs, and central, central was the best team i ever played, always brought gg's. i think central will get it, easily, cus i know them.

    Central is too young, but they will be great in a couple years,

     

    my picks go from Meigs to Polk to Boyd Buchanan

    I am really surprised with Boyd, they have practically killed everyone they have played thus far

    BRANDON WARD FROM RED BANK , PITCHED 4 OR 5 INNINGS OF RELIEF AGIANST RHEA CO. AND GAVE UP NO RUNS . IF THERE IS A BETTER SOPH. PITCHER IN THIS TOWN I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHO ?

    well im sure there is so there is no need to get on here and get cocky about a soph. beating Rhea County

    Wayne Chism beat them 3 times...I'd say Beau Brown has a pretty good shot at it...I'm guessing you didn't think to research this before you spoke???

    I agree, Central has not played some of the tougher teams such as Bolivar Central, Liberty Tech. Magnet, or Haywood, or Mitchell for that matter...but I believe they will compete with Liberty, assuming MC advances and assuming Liberty advances...

    well, i was talkin most recently and yes i have researched it too. Thats why Bolivars strength of schedule is 1, and Centrals is 55

     

    If you keep the trash going, you'll eventually be tossed off the board for good.

    Joe Quirk would have made a bee-line to the student section with right hand waving frantically over his head. He then would have made examples of some poor souls.

     

    Is this Chris? BTW, I was totally embarrassed by our student section when they did that. Also, they need to enunciate their cheers better so everyone can laugh with them and not at them. I can't understand half of them.

    i guess they never have read the Character Counts board that is right up above the student section at Central

    Alcoa at the beginning of the year, I didn't think they would be that great...all I really know of that they have is Brandon Warren and he is just a big man...other then that, I don't really know what else they run...but I believe McMinn Central will win, one because they are a better all around team, and two, they will be seeking revenge since Alcoa ended their Title Run two years ago in the first round...then I see them playing Liberty in the second round and winning a very hard fought game, and then in the championship, I think they will play Mitchell and give them all they want and then eventually, Thad Young will take over the ball game and Mitchell will win the AA State Championship...Mitchell is the best AA team in the state in my oppinion...however, upsets happen...

    upsets do happen but not over Liberty Tech pal, im sorry to say that but if Wayne Chism cant beat them, then trust me, Beau Brown WONT

    Despite a couple of pre-season losses, Polk is looking pretty good.

    well, i have a question polk_wildcat! is Ta. Davis still the short stop and is Qualls still having a good performance behind the plate????

     

    who will be Polk's #1 pitcher????

    Good Luck to East Ridge tonight because they will have there starters back by thursday if they win tonight ,,, which will lead into a great match up with McMinn.. :ph34r:

    this will be a great game i think because the big boy from ER i think his name is Phillip is really powerful but i would say if your willing to drive to Sequatchie you will get your moneys worth
