  1. alright well first of all hats off to continental, actually hats off to bristol. i hate to say this we got knocked out by 1 person. also if you weren't at the game please don't talk alright thanks. everyone is overlooking the reason why continental were successful, running a 4-5-1 with everyone back is not the reason why. we have faced teams playing that formation before all it does is make the game awfully boring. the main reason was their keeper bristol, he made outstanding saves and completely shut down our game plan that has worked on 24 teams, but with a keeper the size of a tower nothing went through. we made a huge mistake in the back resulting in a goal which cost us the game, but hey #### happens right. someone said earlier that we shouldn't be ashamed or anything, which is correct we aren't. we got an amazing once in a life time opportunity and made the best of it, we had loads of fun this season the end wasn't really what we expected but that's how life is (it's not like we haven't won a state title before anyways). and again if you did not see the game do not post alright no one wants to hear your made up facts and reasons the game ended as it did. both teams played with everything on the line unfortunately we were a missing a few key players, continental made the best of their chance and we didn't. At least bearden wont be winning the tittle either right =)

Wow, I am amazed at how ridiculous someone can sound. I'm so glad the assistant coach from Farragut responded and was so gracious---otherwise, people would think all Farragut fans/students/parents are this stupid. I WAS there--not as a Centennial or Farragut fan. What cost the game was not scoring, regardless of the opposition's formation. Both teams played hard. Don't take away from either of them by being ignorant.

  2. I called Farragut Losing 2 weeks ago so im not surpised...its a shame they couldnt win out and finish possibly the greastest season in TN HS history. Thats how soccer goes tho..like the world cup slogan "one game changes everything"...kinda bummed out East TN wont hold the title tho :roflol: ...good luck to both hendersonville and Centential in the finals.

I'm not sure you can say it would have been the 'greatest season in TN HS history'---Brentwood went 24-0, won State AAA and was number one on Fab Fifty in 2008. Had Farragut won, it would have been the same. Centennial has been overlooked by many all year---I heard a guy working the game last night asking where they were located. The answer: District 11AAA in Williamson County--MIDDLE TENNESSEE

  3. Hendersonville-3

    Bearden-0

Wow---bet Hendersonville doesn't underestimate Centennial like Farragut appeared to. Both Centennial and Hendersonville are physical teams and Friday's final should be a good one! Guess the title will be back with Middle Tennessee!

  4. It was a great match the first half. 0 to 0 at halftime. Unfortunately for Franklin, their keeper was involved with a one v one collision after a save during the first half. The BHS player charged her at full speed after the save was made and in the collision the keeper took an elbow to the temple and a cleat to the knee. Franklin's keeper tried to return to the field at second half but began to vomit and was helped off. Word is concussion and will be out for a week. Franklin's second keeper came in and BHS scored twice within a matter of minutes. It fell apart after that. Ref's did not control the game, which is necessary when two rivals such as these two schools play. The BHS player should have gotten at least a yellow, but nothing was called.

I know it's a matter of perspective but it appeared the goalie bobbled the ball and didn't have control of it, thus the BHS player was still playing it for possession/control. I still wish the FHS goalie hadn't gotten hurt---and hope for a speedy recovery!

  5. Is it a TSSAA rule that they can't charge admission for scrimmages? I have never been charged before but Collierville has charged $3.00 A GAME this weekend----if you leave and come back for a later game, they charge again. I didn't know if this was an 'official' rule that you can't charge or not. Ideas?

  6. Ravenwood plays Brentwood tomorrow night at 7pm at Cheek Park in Franklin for the District Championship. A rematch of an earlier season game where Ravenwood won 2 - 0. Both teams advance to regional play next week.

I thought the regular season score was 2-1?? It'll be a close match tonight--assuming the weather cooperates.

  7. Indy wasnt playing their best during the first half and for a little bit in the second half.

Centennial scored 3 goals in less than 20 min. in the second

Indy also hasnt played anyone in over a week due to the weather.

In which 20 minutes did Centennial score? Were they closely matched until then?

  8. Whoever wins this game will win it all. this is the championship game. The brackets were skewed.

Game could go either way depending on effort. My heart and vote is with West. If they play like they did against farragut, no one can beat them.

    Brentwood 3

    Knox West 0

  9. I love this time of year. All the talk begins. But who wins it all? I think a lot of it has to do with who has played the tougher schedule, and who is best suited to face "great" competition for 5 games in a row. To give an idea of who has played the tough schedule consider the following:

I will put the top 11 teams- per Eurosport- the percentages is win loss record of all the opponents for each team- the first percentage is produced by taking the ties and splitting them. Example a team has 20 ties they count as 10 wins 10 losses. The second set of percentages eliminates the ties. Here is how it breaks down:

win percentag with ties without ties

    1 Brentwood 52.7 53.2

    2 Farragut 61.2 62.4

    3 G-Town Hou 58.3 59.7

    4 West 63.4 65.2

    5 Kinsport DB 50.8 50.9

    6 Bearden 66.8 68.8

    7 Cleveland 52.8 52.8

    8 Cookville 56.0 55.1

    9 Riverdale 51.9 51.5

    10 Independence 52.5 52.3

    11 Collierville 50.4 50.3

I made this for one reason- look at the schedules of Farragut, Bearden and West. The top 3 toughest schedules- based on their oppenents records. Farragut and Bearden play a schedule like this all of the time!! Wonder why 6 of the last 7 state championships have been won by these 2 schools?? This is the reason. West has learned something- they have played the toughest schedule they can get....and I believe it will pay off for them. As for Brentwood, Kingsport DB and Cleveland and the rest.....beware! It looks great being undefeated...having only played 1 ranked team all year...(Brentwood)- but what happens when the playoffs get here? We are about to find out!!!

    Comments please!!! /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Regarding Brentwood and the records of their opponents--- Brentwood actually played five ranked teams (current rankings). It just happened that four of them were out of state teams. They were Grissom (AL), ranked #1 in 6A with a record of 26-2-1; Oak Mountain-(AL), ranked #3 in 6A with a record of 19-7-2; Habersham Central- (GA), ranked #15 in 4A with a record of 16-2-1 and Putnam City North-(OK), ranked #8 in 6A with a record of 10-4. At the time Brentwood beat them, Grissom, Habersham and Putnam City were all unbeaten.

Throwing out the record of "TBA" on their schedule the revised won-loss-tie records of Brentwood's opponents would be 145-72-27 or 145-72 with ties eliminated for a percentage of appx. 67%.

Regardless of these numbers the only game that matters for Brentwood is the next one against a hot Franklin team in the District 11 AAA semifinals.

Before state becomes a topic Brentwood must get through some very tough teams. In the big picture, percentages don't win games for anyone.

  10. I predict that Brentwood will come in overly confident, failing to account for Nicholas Dykes's ability to score from midfield, Benjamin Ward Gaines's ability to score from anywhere, and Chandler Farmer's ability to stop any ball that he feels like stopping.

    Speaking of overconfident....
