  1. I agree that Seth should have been first team and/or MVP but the Tennessean sportswriters picked the team and they don't really cover high school baseball until the State tournament rolls around. Most if not all of the first team players got to the state level. Many excellent players did not make it to the state tournament.

What do you want? I noticed that the kids were from everywhere.

Adam Atkins: Goodpasture/University of Tennessee Davidson County

Jacob Stallings: Brentwood Academy/University of North Carolina Williamson County

Corban Joseph: Franklin/University of Kentucky (5th RD Draft) Williamson County

T.J. Hoelzer: David Lipscomb Davidson County

    Tennyson Dodd: Oakland/Lipscomb Rutherford County

Bo Reeder: Cookeville/East Tennessee State Putnam County

Tyler Carr: Mt. Juliet Wilson County

Kes Carter: Ravenwood/Western Kentucky Williamson County

Johnny Mishu: Montgomery Bell Academy Davidson County

Navery Moore: Battle Ground Academy Williamson County

    Williamson County: 4

    Davidson County: 3

    Rutherford County: 1

    Putnam County: 1

    Wilson County: 1

    Private Schools: 5

    Public Schools: 5

You could not select a team that was more diversified.

The major question is how could Seth Lentz be drafted so high and not be the MVP or at the very least first team?

  2. Smyrna better take a crash course in stopping a screen pass, because if they don't learn how to, or at least slow it down, will be a long night. I'm sure as soon as Ravenwood's coaches see the film they will be salivating from the mouth.

But Smyrna has Sonny Gray and he is a very good Qb. that always will give them a chance to win. :thumb:

rhs has barely thrown any screen passes all year so the rhs coaches will see that smyrna can't stop a screen pass and they won't be able to do anything about it. The only reason rhs is putting points on the board is because becker sees a broken coverage every now and then and lobs the ball up to his recievers. ive seen smyrna play a few times now and ive seen few if any broken coverages from their defensive backs. im not favoring any side by any means but i do think that the gray+wilkes combo is way too strong for the rhs defense. i think shs will take this one.

  3. matt williams from centennial is one of the best upcoming sophomores ive seen. he plays shortstop/second. i saw him play school ball with centennial and summerball with the franklin seminoles. He has the quickest hands ive seen at his age. hes pretty small but he can hit bombs for his size.
