How is #33 doing from East Hickman? I know he left the game last friday night.

Hey Prez. First of all it is MCHS. Not MCCHS. We are not the county high school. hence, MCHS. Secondly we are not the pits of the high school football world now, and we have a long way to go in establishing our football program as a dominate program. The previous "squeaker" games we had with CA was riddled with penalties and three TD's were called back due to penalties. Should have been a blow out. The Cheatham game was close and in previous years the Indians would have crumbled. Not any more. East Hickman's record of 0-5 is not deserved, they played much better against the Indians. Central's coaching staff, players, and community are "all in" and on a mission. Now as for Camden. Speed, talent, and excellent coaching. All three both the Indians and Camden have to a degree. All ingredients for a state championship team. They will not over look the Indians and they may win the game. You never know how the ball will bounce. A cornered dog is very dangerous, especially if you have it's favorite bone!

I like that Iceman76 may I use that quote one day about having the dogs favorite bone. But you are right. MCHS has gotten better each and every week. That is all that can be asked from the players, coaches, and have the community continue to support them. They may not be where they want to be right now but keep working hard and that goal is within hand. As you said no one knows how the ball may bounce once the game starts. and you are right MCHS should have destroyed CA and should have beat WC but penalties are part of the game and you have to learn how not to have silly penalties. Since MCHS has cut back on the penalties things are getting better for them.

Should be a battle, NE will b out coached. HC wins.

Dang Coach do you really believe the NE coach is that bad. Sometimes strange things happen out at NE. Could be a very good game.

don't understand why you have Northeast above Springfield when Springfield beat Northeast. but everything else looks good.

Springfield will eventually overcome it's youth and if they do they will put up huge numbers on someone. Who knows it may be tonight.

Cookeville is in our district. Would that not mean that if they are 6A, we are? The other high school is in a lower division I believe.

remember T$$AA redid the way districts were organized. they put 6A with 5A. 4A with 3A. and 2A with 1A. so although you are in the same district you break out when playoff time comes around. So Cumberland Co. will go with the 5A playoff bracket.

Don't believe they won it their first year. Maybe their second or 3rd year. But you are right they haven't done anything since. Just like Independence.

Didn't see Cumberland Co. on the list. They are 2-2 as well and played Cookeville last week and looked solid.

Will East Hickman repeat a win again from last year? Last year East Hickman spoiled Mont Central Homecoming when they picked East Hickman for a easy win.... East is horrible this year but maybe they can get it together and pull out a win. I think the Freshman Q back will be a spark for the future of the program, with more games under his belt, he will get comfortable and make plays. We will see if East Coach will stay with the Freshman and do the right thing , or fall weak and play the Senior who quit and walked off the field a few games ago. (my opinion he should of never been allowed back on my field)

why was he allowed to come back on the team? Hasn't he done this in previous years? Seems as if that could be a cancer to the team. Can Central's DB's defend the pass that E. Hickman is about to put on them. I hope they can if not it will be a long night for Central. Can EH stop the MC offense and keep them off the field? If not it will be a long night for E. Hickman.

As much garbage that is being put out this should be a really good match up. These teams play totally opposite styles and should prove to be one of the top games in the state. Boyce Smith Field should be packed and coach myer and HC coach should have their respective teams prepared. It will come down to who exicutes the game plan better.

You are exactly right coach. Still can't believe Clarksville didn't want to pray with you guys. Was it the CHS coaches decision not to do that?

Red Warrior you are correct! Based on last years teams (Henry and Springfield)! Henry should win 35 - 7 in an easy game for the Patriots that will make them ready for Dickson and the region title. Maybe the Jackets should stay home this year and understand the winter, spring, and summer conditioning and lifting were all for nothing to the almighty Henry County Patriots! How about the district just hand Henry County another title so they can make the play-offs, based on the last 5 years, and lose in the semi finals! If we are basing on the past 5 years, isn't this a true statement?

Win or lose SHS will pray with the opposing team and show fellowship it is a tradition that myer has started. I think in this day and time this is a good idea. CHS refused from what I understand on the eve of 9/11. Coaches understood but kids didn't. They thought a disrespect to the chaplin.

CHS refused to pray with springfield? You have got to be kidding me. I wasn't at the game but I thought they would have prayed afterwards. Did the coaches refuse?

Not much given up on the long ball friday night. oh well I guess we will see how central does against whoever they play next.

Sorry didn't know it was $85. I should quit my job and go into that also. I know I can do a better job than most so that would be $850 for 10 weeks and then get into the playoffs. But you are going to have people who just do enough to get by no matter what profession you are in. Something does need to be done about those officials who don't care about the sport but just stand around out there. Those are the ones people pay attention to and it shouldn't be.

I agree with the WC speed. They will probably not see that much team speed from the skilled players until they play Camden. As far as the penalties, there were several calls that should have gone centrals way in the West Creek game. (Clipping and holding, and one forward pass that a West Creek lineman caught (#73) (side judge missed)??????? Irish are going down.

Quit complaining about the refs. They do the job they can. If you want better refs then TSSAA needs to pay more. Otherwise you are going to continue to have what you have because no one wants to go through what they go through for what they get paid.

I am sure that the refs made central do all the holding, jumping off sides, personal fouls. If the Central kids can't keep their composure then they need to get flagged.

you make it sound like they were getting beat deep a lot? Is there something I am missing? 6 points to CA????? and only 27 to West Creek who put up 48 on the board a week earlier? Plus I would say West Creek has a ton more speed than Houston Co. will even think about bringing to the game on Friday night. But they have given up a couple deep balls. So they do need to get better in the secondary.

I've got the Cubs in this one en route to a 7-3 overall season record and 1st place among the 3A teams in District 11AA.

So who will the other 2 losses be two? one will be to Camden correct? who is the other?

what is the word on the other side of the river? How are things looking for this friday? Can MC stop the pass this week or will HC air it out all night long?

What is the average # of Penalties that MC is having per game? hard to win when you have that many for a lot of yards. Houston Co. is throwing the ball well. It could end up being a long night for the indians. Especially on homecoming. If MC can cut down on the penalties then it can be a great night of football. But cool heads will prevail. You shoot yourself in the foot too many times you are going to die a slow death. Good Luck to MC and I hope they keep their composure and pull this one out.

West Creek has too much speed for the boys from across the river. They can't stop #8 or #7. WC will run all over them. The Indians are too slow. Next week is the game. NE and WC. Can't wait. No one wants to see the game this week. They all know WC rolls in this one. Can't stop WC this week. Getting ready for next week. MC thanks for a tune up game for next week. Score will only tell part of the tale as MC gets beat by 40 easy.

So your not saying he was injured, but he wont say that he was injured, but will say he is injured if he doent play good. I am confused! If the boy is injured there is no shame, but dont blame a performace on an injury. An old high school coach once told me that there are two types of athletes. Hurt and Injured! If you cannot play you are injured, but almost all athletes play hurt at some point. So is he hurt or injured?

That a boy southerland tell him the way it is. all athletes play hurt from day one otherwise they are not hitting. Injured you can't. tell them like it is.

I think West Creek will have too much for CC this year. WC has grown a lot this year. They are vastly improved.
