I didn't mean to start another South vs DB thread, so I will just say this. South has not been in the Arby's for a few years only because there were so many teams that wanted in. South lost it's place in the shuffle when the 1999-2000 team chose to go to a Christmas tournament in California. This was the firs year that coach Burns could fit us back in. It had nothing to do with cowardice. And as far as competing, well, we did pretty good last year against the mighty indians.

Well, I stayed up to see what our local news channels said about the jamboree. They showed a little South and a little Central, but offered no scores or analysis. Anybody see it? How did it go?

son....are you obsessed? do you think that bickering with some idiot on here who claims to be a south fan can bring the indians back? you guys had a great team and a very good season...your team will be good again next season....but you gotta wait a few months to see them play.....now go on to basketball...or baseball.

You just don't get it do you cat? You see, this years seniors haven't been beaten by the mighty indians for 11 years. They have been beaten by them for two years. Before that they beat the DB JV as sophomores and the DB freshman team before that. For good measure, they walloped the DB feeder schools in scrimmages while they were in the 7th and 8th grade. And this years sophomore QB has never, NEVER, been beaten by DB. So you see, while they are still on the low end of the board vs DB they don't even fear this 11 year streak. That streak means nothing but fodder on a message board. And while we are listing class acts, the season before last, I sat and listened to several of the DB players taunting the South players after the game. They sat outside the dressing room as South walked to their lockers and chanted the old WHO DAT chant. I thought it was classless then, so I want you to know that just in case, just in case, if heck freezes over tomorrow night and South wins this game, I will be the one that you can hear from the stands hollering the same chant. WHO DAT? Sullivan South...DAT WHO.

Well....I admit I am a big South Fan and I didn't really want to come on here and make some sort of prediction as I had no idea what the always good DB team had this year. But now I have watched the replay of the DB/Betsy game on the local cable and you know what? I think there is blood in the water and DB is fishbait. South is better at just about every position. They have a better quarterback, running backs and receivers. Their offensive line is just a tad smaller, but just as strong. Their defense is head and shoulders above the Indians this year. I think the streak stops the day after tomorrow. Strap em on tight Indians. WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DB? The Sullivan South Rebels, thats who.
