1. HOW DID THE SCRIMMAGE GO ON FRIDAY FOR ROCKWOOD AND COALFIELD AGAINST PIGEON FORGE AND EACH OTHER

From what i hear knight, Rockwood was puttin it on Coalfield early then Coalfield and Rockwood both beat PF and they left to get home cause of a longer haul, then Coalfield and Rockwood scrimmaged some more with Coalfield scorin once and Rockwood goin 3 & out twice. but aparently one of coalfield's big lineman was hurt tuesday in a sequyah scrimmage and may have broken a leg.

  2. It's about what I expected. Coalfield can't even compete with a weak football team. I can't wait until Coalfield comes up to Oneida for their annual whipping. Go Oneida.

Annual whipping??? Oneida has beat Coalfield one time in the last 5 years and Coalfield had them beat last year and absolutely gave it away. Yeah, not much of a year by year record I'd be proud of.

  3. Wow it really looks like district 3 is dwelling on last year. I don't see why its so amazing that wartburg and coalfield beat harriman and rockwood. Looks to me like D3 is going to have to face the facts that D4 can compete with them. The past 5 to ten years are over. D4 baseball is back and if you ask me D4 is way better from the top to the bottom. Maybe Rockwood better wake up and quit thinking about last year because everyone loves to knock off the best, and Rockwood has been the best in that region for a while now. I love it. Who wants to watch one or two teams smash everyone anyway??? Not me, I love the competition that has gone on just in the first couple weeks this season. Looking forward to a lot more baseball this year!!!

Go jackets-D4 defending champs & hopefully farther this season!!!

  4. who in the region can play with the tigers?

Harriman didn't lose a player so they will obviously be the biggest threat for the Tigers in district play but I look for Coalfield to have a good season. They won District 4A last season, were upset by Harriman in region play, and only lost two starters in Hill and Duncan. They return pretty much all their pitching and they had the best defense in the region last year. If the Jackets don't leave a bunch of baserunners stranded like last year, they will be right in the mix for the district and maybe region championships.

  5. I believe that Oneida has the best defense in region 2a. However, the dogs will be able to score easier during this meeting because the Indians defense will have to play so much. Without their QB, Oneida's offense will be one dimensional, and Hampton can definitely stop a running game.

    Hampton-28

    Oneida-0

  6. Cutters game was Vonore 6 Midway 0. I thought the coaches learned a lot about which boys were going to step up against good competition in the Loudon scrimmage. They were a lot bigger and in many cases stronger than us. The main thing I saw was the aggressiveness has definitely picked up from a year ago. There was some fierce hitting at times and I LIKED IT! We better be ready to hit today, because those hard-nosed Coalfield boys will bring it. They may be a smaller classification, but they compete with some of the so-called big boys year in and year out. Coach Kreis has been there a long time, and has built a strong program. It will definitely be a good test for us.

Do you know what time the scrimmage starts? I heard 5:30, but I wasn't sure.

  7. Muledog,

This is the third year in a row that I have heard this crap, they still haven't made it the the championship yet & until they make there I would like for u ppl to keep your mouths shut because your giving me a headache.

AMEN! I too have heard this talk of South Pittsburg for three or four years. Everyone knows about how s.p. would stomp everyone back in the mid to late 90's during their glory days, but they have been yelling state championship for four years. The only thing they have done in those years is go out in the 1st or 2nd round. Plus, I'm pretty sure this is a morgan county thread.

  8. QUOTE(bob367 @ May 12 2007 - 12:12 AM) 826457728who does everyone think will win this one?

Well, its going to be a good matchup. Harriman has had the advantage over Coalfield the past few years. I'm sure both teams will have their aces up and ready so they can advance to the sectional game. However, I am going to give coalfield a slight edge because their bats have been hot as of late.

  9. QUOTE(bob367 @ May 12 2007 - 12:16 AM) 826457730i didnt say it was impossible! but the chances were slim.

I'd make that very slim since I witnessed myself that Hawn wasn't even throwing tonight. They didn't have much of a chance with Hawn, much less without their district 4a pitcher of the year that gave up 3 "touch 'em alls" to alley, melton, and hill earlier in the week.

  10. QUOTE(bob367 @ May 12 2007 - 12:10 AM) 826457725game was forfeiteted due to rain coalfield DISTRICT CHAMPS! so coalfield plays harriman and sunbright plays rockwood

I hate to say it, but with or without hawn throwing tonite, its probly a good thing that monsoon came for the tigers, the way coalfield has been mashing the baseball this week.

  11. QUOTE(bob367 @ May 6 2007 - 12:41 AM) 826452706my opinion is coalfield. or os. they have the most depth

yea, i agree. no one is as deep in the pitching rotation as c-town and o.s.

  12. Slick Rick says Slick PUJO is right. Slick Rick believes Slick Coalfield will lose to Slick PUJO's bulldogs. Slick Rick read where the field is really wet and soppy. Slick Rick feels like these conditions favor Hampton and that HUGE offensive unit. That offensive unit kind of reminds Slick Rick of a ofensive unit people see on Saturdays

Hampton's "Huge" offensive unit better be ready to play Coalfield's huge defensive unit. They allow eight points per game and it wouldn't be that high except for greenback putting up 33 against Coalfield's third string in the last minutes of the fourth quarter.

And their offensive ain't too shaby either.

  13. I saw that cocky thing last year. He dint impress me one bit. All he did was dance when they would measure the chains.

Dude, hes not cocky. He's just good. I watch him every friday and when he makes a play he goes back to the huddle.
