1. QUOTE(bigchief @ May 1 2007 - 01:05 PM) 826449206Own? To say that Lebanon "owns" anybody is a stretch. They haven't "owned" anybody since the Medley years. It is sad when Friendship is the class of Wilson County football.

    Bigchef, I think I love you. /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

  2. QUOTE(Solomon @ May 4 2007 - 10:23 AM) 826451581I love this board.........

Just for the heck of it, has anyone looked at MP's schedule and results from last year?

    Schedule

I detect a bit of what could be called "Satterfield Syndrome" with this guy - gripe about privates all the time, but not be afraid to hang 50+ on them when the chance comes.

    CLASSIC! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

That shows the idiocy of mr. lil' kitties argument AND I now have a new phrase in my vocabulary!

  3. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 26 2007 - 03:28 PM) 826446099Does that not make him legal if he is "officially" zoned correctly?

Aren't the private school transfers legal if the "officially" follow TSSAA rules when transferring? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" Funny how following the rules is good enough for MPHS, but not for privates. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  4. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 26 2007 - 09:38 AM) 826445813Im the child. Atleast I was man enough to admit my comments were opinions and not anything I can prove, just something I BELIEVE HAPPENS. You didnt have to like them. I havent hid anything. Now we have this guy who knows everthing about MP sports and is too scared to name names and counties. Be a man, if you stated I "think" you have kids from two different counties I could except, however this joker says it facts but is too scared behind his pc to prove anything.

Not only is it my opinion that it happens ... it is also fact! But from your latest (actually all) rants ... shouldn't opinions be good enough? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  5. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 26 2007 - 07:56 AM) 826445724My question is, and I will slow down so you can understand, can you prove it by naming names and counties. Atleast I was man enough to say my opinion that some privates recruit was just that an opinion, and I have nothing to prove it. So are you man enough to admit what you say is an accusation or can you prove it by fact.

It really shouldn't be hard to figure out who it is. I live in Murfreesboro. I am Church of Christ. My church friend was a former MPHS faculty member and definitely part of the MPHS sports machine. You really must be removed from the program. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

It is a FACT. Believe it. Know it. Be one with in grasshopper. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  6. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 25 2007 - 11:32 PM) 826445651In other words you cant prove it. Plus I have never said I was plugged into the sports "machine" of MP.

can someone prove they have kids from 2 different counties. Come on names and counties please.

What does "prove it" really mean? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

And oh yes, it happened and IS happening! Believe it. Know it. Be one with it grasshopper. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  7. QUOTE(inappropriate87 @ Apr 19 2007 - 11:56 PM) 826441593not for sure but didnt usj get caught for having illegal players or sumthin like that a few years back? again not sayin they did just askin?

They had a clerical error where tuition was collected from a couple of students late. As termed by the TSSAA, it was an oversite and not intentional. USJ had their 2005 baseball state championship voided and also forfitted a few football wins.

  8. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 25 2007 - 12:42 PM) 826445086Ok I'll bite. But first Ill say what I hear from you guys "prove it". Name your source and what kids and from what counties. If you make accusations give the proof and not hearsay.

Ha! You must not be as plugged into the MPHS sports machine as you would have us all believe! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  9. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 25 2007 - 07:09 AM) 826444779Ive quoted it once but since you were slow understanding it I'll say it again. I have heard rumors of this, I dont know if its true. Dont know the specifics. If your so interested why dont you come find out yourself. I can promise you this. MP doesnt have kids from 9 different counties.

No, just 3 counties! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> I did some poking around after finding out that a local friend and former MPHS faculty member attends my church. You may want to take your blinders off. I did a very short Q&A with a former faculty member and I was able to find out some interesting MPHS facts. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  10. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 23 2007 - 05:19 PM) 826443602Well tell me why that is such a focal point then by the SC. The letter that is.

Because they are trying to decide by rule of law if the BA's right to free speech was violated. The letter in itself is the document that is the point of contention. BA saying it is there right to use the letters per their right to free speech. TSSAA argued that they forfitted that right in that instance due to their membership within their org.

  11. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 23 2007 - 05:19 PM) 826443602How is a high school coach who goes to a middle school football team who is also zoned in the same area recruiting?

Because we live in a free will society and NO child is forced to attend any school. No children are "owned" by a school system. There are tons of options. For example in Maury county, the student can apply for a transfer to any of the other schools. That's 4 or 5 other PUBLIC schools that are options. The student could attend Columbia Academy or Zion Christian in county ... or any of the other privates schools out of county. The student could also opt to be homeschooled. So, why would it be OK for any coach to visit a middle school? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

  12. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 23 2007 - 05:13 PM) 826443601The biggest and largest is the fact they have no boundaries. Even schools with open zones have to stay in their county.

    WRONG! Maryville and Alcoa don't stay within their counties. There are several Memphis area schools that don't stay within the state. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Your kind of people need to have your facts straight. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  13. QUOTE(supersteve17 @ Apr 19 2007 - 08:33 AM) 826440903You will have to ask lazarus the definition of "trend." He is the expert about this type of stuff. I have gotten myself in trouble in the past talking about "cycles" and "trends." I agree with you 100% about the value of magnet schools. I am not against magnet schools. I'm just trying to point out the hypocrisy of singling out private schools for so-called "advantages" when other schools also have certain advantages.

Ha! He would split off every single other team. That way when MPHS plays an intrasquad game ... they are assured to be champions. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  14. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 19 2007 - 08:58 AM) 826440932It wouldnt supriseme to see a private do that. TSSAA is trying to even the playing field for these kids and its upseting all the privates that do no wrong.

That is actually working its way through the courts in a couple of other states. I believe the privates will let that set a precedent and the decide whether or not to pursue ... that is unless there aren't drastic changes after the BA v. T$$AA case.

  15. QUOTE(supersteve17 @ Apr 16 2007 - 10:55 AM) 826438540Is there a scenario in which the Supreme Court doesn't really declare a "winner" but basically says to the parties "go back home and work this out among yourselves?" Is that even possible?

There are a couple of options as explained to me by an attorney friend. The first is that they could just flat out issue a ruling one way or the other. The second could be that they rule a procedural error or ruling occurred in an appellate court - meaning they could issue a guideline ruling asking the appellate court to re-hear the case and rule again (which is why we've had this 10 year cycle of lawsuits now). Or your scenario, they could rule and ask the groups to work out their differences through mediation ... which is VERY highly unlikely with the case reaching the SC.

  16. The NFS and NCAA both support the TSSAA as they can see how the same ruling may apply to them ... basically nullifying there kingdoms. I don't blame them either. It will be interesting to see what the ruling is ... and if this is it or if they send it back to the appellate courts for even more tomfoolery.

QUOTE(StanTrott @ Apr 15 2007 - 05:32 PM) 826438056In the spirit of keeping as many threads as possible going

in this forum, here is a link to the front page article:

Tennessean Front Page Article - April 15

    There are three related articles.

You can hit these articles in the right margin of the webpage.

There are bios on the lawyers in this section.

It is very interesting who is supporting the TSSAA.

Everyone from the NFHS and the NCAA.

    Case has U.S. audience

Treating private sports groups as government bodies worries several organizations such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association. It filed legal briefs arguing that such a definition would allow courts to meddle in its affairs.

On Brentwood Academy's side are 22 women's rights groups, led by the National Women's Law Center.

How does BA feel about being on the other side of the NFHS

and the NCAA is this battle? 22 women’s groups siding with a

private, evangelical high school! Maybe Billie Jean King will

    testify for BA.

I hope the Tennessean will cover the case in D.C.

  17. Ha! I'm thinking of a great Gin Blossoms song from the early '90's ... Jealousy. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

(I'm not a Goodpasture alum or student, nor do I have children attending the school.)

  18. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Apr 9 2007 - 09:44 AM) 826432905Hello all my people, it is so nice to be back on coacht, I looked all over the place to find a pc place to post but wife said she would leave me if I got near one. LOL. I see you all had fun in my absence. I even has a public poster come at me. Just wait viking when you can taste a state championships and a school with kids all over the place except from the area their school is in takes it away from ya. As far as finding the beach, I had a GPS system, it helped me find the beach. I borrowed it from a friend who teaches at a local private school. It had a setting on how many miles into several different counties its school could "advertise" too. LOL. As far as Alan Colmes, I'm a republican. And I'm just guessing, but I'm pretty sure I make more money than him. LOL.

I saw on CNN this weekend that a shark bit someone and then spit him back onto the beach. When the lifeguard on duty arrived on the scene, he said that the victim smelled like rotten apples and that's why he thought the shark spit him out. I thought that maybe it was you. Just kidding ... glad to have you back. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

  19. QUOTE(Antwan @ Mar 29 2007 - 08:26 PM) 826426110I was talking about small schools...mainly 1a and 2a. Obviously...population base is the reason for the multiplier. Most private schools are small...and are in large populated areas.

I think some of the reason for those counties having most of the titles is because there are more schools in those counties...hence...more of a chance to win a title.

Are you and MPHSLilKitty the same guy? He "goes to the beach" and then suddenly you reappear! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Just yanking your chain. Good to have you back. How's the Bethel softballers doing?

  20. QUOTE(supersteve17 @ Mar 29 2007 - 05:01 PM) 826425989I'm hungry! Anybody want to go to Hagy's near Savannah?

Not to get off topic ... but that was wrong on so many levels. I've been to Hagy's and I live entirely too far to get there! And now my poor wife is going to hear me yap about it for days. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  21. QUOTE(MPHSTIGERS87 @ Mar 29 2007 - 07:45 AM) 826425562Over time? You are saying 1 fisherman fishingin one pond with 1000 fish will last as long as 1 fisherman fishing in 9 ponds with 1000 fish in each. OK. Whatever works for you. I'll take the 9000 fish over 1000 fish any day. Look if I told you the sky was blue you would say it was green so lets just end this Gees. I wont agree with you and you wont agree with me.

Uh, the fisherman with 1 pond doesn't even have to try ... 99% of the fish literally JUMP into the boat. No effort. There is not hinderance at all.

  22. QUOTE(FCSprideatUT @ Mar 28 2007 - 07:50 PM) 826425209Oh i almost forgot. Mr pleasant i have a question??

well more of a comment to anyone else who might care.

If everyone would be so kind to look at the Region 6-1A thread, and page 18. you will see a nice little conversation about mount pleasant getting a new athlete that might be close to marco. Latter on he is identified as possibly Ju-Ju and he was a leading tackler at a 5A school his sophmore year before transfering.

My comment is simply that i was under the impression from a one Mr. Pleasant that that sort of thing did not happen at public schools.

    Hmmm ... I wonder how others would "know" that a kid was moving in to town like that. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

    I guess the pond just got a little bit more crowded! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

  23. QUOTE(VolunteerGeneral @ Mar 27 2007 - 06:19 AM) 826423656Did you even read my post? Did you even understand it? Do I need to explain it to you again?

    Alas, you are barking up a dead tree. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Just count your lucky stars that your youngin's have great schools in JCM and Liberty to attend.
